Sorry to sound pathetic but this brought a tear to my eye. I'm an older gamer and i was a teen in the 16bit/32bit era. This brings back so many great memories. It really was the golden era for gaming imo.
This is an excellent and useful list, I absolutely love the fact that all Playstation 3s plays PS1 games on HDMI and Wireless Controllers up to 7 players. Great move by Sony to make their PS3 compatible with these awesome PS1 games.
It’s been 5 years already Wow! I remember you posting it on Racketboy! This is the best PS1 video catalogue period please preserve at all cost. As we get older our brains can’t remember much and that’s when I come back for refreshing!
Glad it could bring such joy - I was 20 when I got the system in 1996, and there's a reason it's still my favorite to this day. Spread the video around, let others relive their childhood. :)
+juanse111 A Lot - in fact, during production, I realized one of the funny things about the video is just how "sorted" all the games are. All the fishing games are in the Bs / Fs (Bass & Fish...), all the flying games are in the As (Ace, Air, etc) and so on. Of course, almost all the sports are in the Ns due to the leagues (NBA, NHL, etc...) Funny how game libraries work. XD
RUclips channel FunHaus played some of this before an E3 stream and brought me here. Glad they did cause this has so many memories and smiles flying back into my mind.
At first I was like, they did a FIFA up to 2001? Wait, 2002 too?!? 2003?!? Man, that's platform dedication... 2004, really?!? Then 2005 showed up and I was no longer surprised.
+Lucid Thanks! There was actually a lot prep work making sure I had all the right save files, and then in what order to lay them out in. Did you happen to catch the in-joke with FF Tactics? The onscreen character laments that "It's been almost an hour..." which just happens to be at the 40+ minute mark of the video. :)
I’ve been looking for a game I vaguely remembered for years. If only i had known it was as easy as watching this video and finally finding out it’s Blaster Master: Blasting Again. Super excited to play it again
Make sure you check out it's original versions on the NES and Sega Genesis! Glad the video is doing what it was intended to do. :D Welcome to the channel!
It's why I love it so much, and regret I was never able to learn Japanese (or other languages in general....I basically barely passed Spanish and didn't fail Japanese twice). The Japanese library has another 1000+ games, and many of them are interesting point & clicks, RPGs, and more.
Awesome, and I hope this video gains you more attention and subscribers, because you deserve it for the kind of unique, in depth content you provide. PS, anyone know anything more about Big League Slugger Baseball? It looks like the Konami developed MLB Power Pros games that came out on PS2/Wii - all I could find out is that it was brought over here by Agetec, so likely a budget game - and the Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū series (what MLB Power Pros is called in Japan) never had a PS1 entry, according to wikipedia.
I do not know if this is a ps1 game but i remember seeing on the screen which looked like a city with a tall building in the middle which I guess was the title of the game. Came out before 1999 or 2000, I think. And another game for ps1 was I guess a horror game, and it had the title screen having like a house in the background with the title name above it. If anyone can tell me what they are because I only saw those one time back than.
The latter sounds like the first Deception: game-rave.com/?p=2999 The former might be a misremembering of the UFO with Sim City 2000: game-rave.com/?p=9034 Or maybe Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (I could see the castle being mistaken for a city: game-rave.com/?p=2215 Die Hard Trilogy had the Nakatomi building as the first intro if it was in-game.
Yeah the one that you mentioned Sim City 2000. It might be it. It did sound similar like Danny Elfman’s MIB theme. And from what i misremembered was that there were buildings in the background behind the building with cars driving across the screen. Thank you. And it could have been Sim City 2000 for SNES because I saw my cousin had a SNES, PS1, etc.
So good. If I could share one constructive piece of criticism it would be that having the name title be more elaborate. Think MTV title where it shows you Title, Release Date, Creator, Publisher. Thank you for creating this - it's amazing!
+Richard Crehan Thanks for the feedback. The problem was that there actually *was* more. The original plan called for the Game's Name, the cover of the game case, and publisher. However, in the early trial runs, we realized that by the time you took in all that info, the next clip was already playing - so you never actually looked back up to view the games visuals. It ended up being a reading video and not the visual presentation we wanted. So we simply stuck with just the game's name, and then instead played with the visual linking. If you pay attention you'll see small stories (a possible triple play across all 3 Bottom of the Ninth games, the lead up to a grand slam across all the Sony MLB games, etc). We felt it was better to go for the small visual in-jokes and secrets.
Man, I love these videos. It's not only cool to see every game compiled into one video, but it's also useful if you're collecting for a console and you want to see which games might be worth picking up. I saw this and the Sega Saturn one. Do you have any plans to continue doing these? If so, which console do you plan on doing next?
Thanks for the feedback! I do indeed. The PlayStation version took me just shy of a full year with some days recording and editing 10 games at a time. I plan to do videos for all the systems I cover, so that would be Dreamcast, Laseractive (it would be like a minute long, heh), Turbo Grafx 16, Sega CD, and Neo Geo CD. :) I'm hoping to start the next one either late this year or early next year.
Aquanauts Holiday was one of those games I’d look at on the back of the console retail box I wanted for some unknown reason. Never played it...but one day! 😁
I don't mean to be greedy, but it would be incredible to have a video like this that shows - instead of clips of gameplay - showed the game cover/manual, including all variants. This would serve as a video checklist for collectors.
Not greedy at all. Just the wrong format. And would be currently impossible as new variants are literally being found on a monthly basis. The video would be outdated multiple times before I could even render it. That's what my site is for at game-rave.com. Much better speed for variant tracking and scanning. : )
Thanks for uploading this. I'm actually going for a complete US PS1 collection myself, so this video will be quite helpful. Well, I my substitute the Japanese version for some games if they're considerably cheaper.
Thank you! There are a ton of edits like that - Sony's MLB series sets up a Grand Slam, Toshinden 1 rolls into 2, the entire Final Fantasy numbered games cast Shiva and so forth. I love that people are are catching on to them. :)
this is awesome! but I do wish it had been done in 4:3 not stretched to widescreen.. guess that would have taken time in the ps3 menu to fix every time.
+PotbellyPunch This wasn't a PS3. :) This is an original PlayStation hooked up via scart cable to an HDMI upscaler, which is being captured via HDMI to an elgato which kept the source format.
Damn man, this is one heck of a collection! I love the transitions of the edits, damn worth it 👍 i have a question tho since not only am i appreciating the games and actual graphics of the ps1, but also am looking thru the list to find the games i played in my childhood. Its a very vague memory, it seemed to start at an underground parking lot and maybe making your way up this hotel? It seemed to be an fps game and the enemy sprites are 2d, kinda like Doom. It honestly spooked me and thought the enemy was still alive coz it follows where you are looking xD But anyway i get to a room where there's a switch or a bomb we need to disable, and if done incorrectly, the hotel would explode. I would be grateful for anyone giving me an answer to a memory that's been haunting me for a while
Thanks for the compliments and the observations! If nothing in the video sparked a memory, I don't think I can help there. The description doesn't sound like a PS1 game, and my google-fu isn't working real well. Do you remember what system it was on?
@@GameRaveTV Well could be another console or a different region, maybe a Japan game for all i know. We didn't play any other console other than the ps1 then, i even had vague memories of games that was actually games, like brave fencer musashi, thunder force v, and c-12 the final resistance (the 2 latter i found from you so thank you again xD) hmm, guess i have to keep looking from other sources and hope i find it if my memory isn't lying to me
I've had a few people ask that, may just do a Present Tense Episode tomorrow once I can read up in it. :) If you check the GRTV archives I did do a video previously about the concept where I tried to align the potential games as close to the NES Classic as possible.
@@GameRaveTV coming back here to tell that I've found the game, its a Japanese title called Expert, clearly fit my description after seeing the intro sequence and the first part of the gameplay, thanks again for this wonderful video
Thanks for the kind words, and welcome to the channel! I'm so happy to this video is still providing people with help. :) Stay to see all the cool little details / edits.
PSone had so many great games I loved the RPGs but the one memory I'll never forget about the PSone was I had to buy all the Football (Soccer) games on the system because my cousin from the UK wanted to play them and her parents wouldn't let her play video games in their home, when ever we would play she would always yell GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! almost all the time because I was never good at Football (Soccer). LOL Good time, R.I.P cousin.
There's a ton of those type of edits in there - but longer in focus. Like how all of MLB sets up a grand slam, and Final Fantasies set up a Shiva Cast. :D Thanks for the kind words!
I’ll keep my eyes open wider for them. More reasons to watch the video more 😬. You’re welcome and thank you for all the work you put in. As a huge PS1 fan, your channel is a “Playstation Paradise” Because of you I’m working on sub-set collecting!
DB the aspect ratio is all stretched when watching this in a browser when your desktop is at a widescreen resolution (at least on windows). Switching to a 4:3 resolution in windows plays the video at the correct aspect ratio. From what I have read you can fix this with the yt:stretch=4:3 tag.
Thank you for the kind words! Check out the rest of my channel and you'll find anger-free (well, aside from the VGA videos) collecting fun and enjoyment. Spread the word, and share the video. :D
+Lex Stucker The PS tops out at 1284 games, where the PS2 had roughly 2000. It would be a 4.5 to 5 hour segment. @_@; Sadly I don't collect PS2, so someone else will have to step up to the challenge. :D
+GameRaveTV If we use Sony's official numbers, all PS2 games add up to about 10,987 games around the world. It would be insane for anyone to try and collect them all.
There was a PS demo with this game (survival/shooter/horror) where you statred off in a snowy mountainside i believe, then ended up in a cave system within the mountain (tech/industrial setting) however there were these giant silverfish looking bugs that wiped all the workers out. Anybody know the name of the game by chance? Again, it was on a ps1 demo disc. Cant remember name of it😢
Easy answer when I have never heard of the game. :D The video is strictly the USA released games, KrossFire was a European / PAL only release. Thank you for the compliment, did you notice all the hidden cuts (like Shiva being cast across all the Final Fantasies?) Welcome to the channel!
One of my favorites :) Be sure to spot all the other ones like the casting of Shiva across all the numbered Final Fantasies, the grand slam set up across all the MLB, and more. :)
wow, thanks for doing such a project, must have cost you a lot of time and money.... do you really own all psx-games? how long did it take to acquire them?
+MoKVidel Hello! Well, I already owned the games, so that was free. :) It was just a lot of time that was spent. I started actually collecting PS in about 2001, and finished right around the time the 3-Pack collectors editions hit. That was the "one of every game", now I'm still tacking down variants. I was blessed in that I was able to collect for the system at the high point of it's 'leaving the sales floor'. I picked up tons of games for super cheap. Now a days, it would cost a pretty penny to purchase some of the games. :(
It's a shame you produced this with a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of preserving the original 4:3 aspect ratio. Seeing all the circular balls in Buster Brothers rendered as ovals at 18:01 is a lost opportunity.
The audio on the FMV is slightly off - the noise was Jack responding to the two guys behind the door. Fox Hunt is a Full Motion Video game where you play a random guy trying to save the world. One of the greatest guilty pleasures on the system.
There were many great games that sadly only released in Japan, like at 1:54:57, there's a Tobal 2 which is far better than No. 1. Smoothest fighting game on the PS1.
I understand... No problem! However, I use emulators and look for good game ROMs from all regions... Because in my country, the original PS1 games are very expensive! And finding a PS1 in good repair is practically impossible. Anyway, I thank you for your attention! 👍😎
Notice how all the MLB baseball games are tied together to look like a single game. I have no interest in playing any of them, but I think the video editing done here was nice!
Thanks! It took almost a year to do. There are a ton of edits like that in the video - Maddens are a full sequence, all of the numbered Final Fantasies string together to cast Shiva, all the DDR game's have one continuous counter (# of steps), many of the fight games link together (Toshiden 1 rolls into Toshinden 2) and more. You really don't realize what's in it till you see it a couple of times. :)
Wow! I thought I noticed that about Madden and Toshinden, but I thought maybe it was just my mind playing tricks. Really fantastic video. I'm watching the whole thing so I can make a new list of PSX games to try. Thanks for all your hard work!
Am I the only one that keeps coming back to this video to see what I want to add to my collection?
I made the darn thing, and I revisit it just to watch the transitions. :D
Pooby1000 most of these clips have some good meme material tbh
@@UBR_MXMU Especially Fox Hunt :D
Pooby1000 nope. I'm always looking for games to get for ps1. Such a huge library it has.
No I use this as a checklist
I know you didn't do this video for the views, you did it for us. I can't imagine how much work it was to get this together. Thank you so much.
That was the most wonderful thing ever. Thank you! :D
...
I need to do a new one...
GameRaveTV what about every ps2 game?
Sorry to sound pathetic but this brought a tear to my eye. I'm an older gamer and i was a teen in the 16bit/32bit era. This brings back so many great memories. It really was the golden era for gaming imo.
agreed. it's nice Cerny wanted to rekindle this Renaissance
+FutureGaming3000 Just let's it out man there's nothing with a good cry, I have so many great memories about the PSone too.
I'd say silver age but I agree nonetheless I loved the ps one so much growing up
FutureGaming3000 I know right, when games were just simply fun time. Now video games are just a bunch of commercial and political bullshit.
I was. Born in 2005 and i to still think these are the best
Anyone else here finding this video incredibly relaxing for some reason?
It's what happens when you let the games speak for themselves. :)
Wow Jason. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into making this. Simply awesome, and a great 20th anniversary tribute. Well done.
I appreciate the amount of effort this must have taken. Also,a new entry in Colony Wars would be leeeegggittt.

The nostalgia! Honestly this deserves more views than has
Thank you so much for this! Actually discovered a few games watching this!
+PinstripeParagon Then the video served one of it's many purposes. Excellent! :D
I recommend downloading this video and watching it in VLC (windowed mode, scanlines, 4:3 aspect ratio).
I love this so many good memories of the old games i used to play!

Good way to get copyright claimed.
Had a lot of fun watching this. Thank you!
+John Aguilera You're welcome. :D
The video was skipping until I dug my PlayStation out and laid it on its side. Weird.
In 1995, this was the greatest console on earth. And many of these games still hold up well
It’s been 5 years already Wow! I remember you posting it on Racketboy! This is the best PS1 video catalogue period please preserve at all cost. As we get older our brains can’t remember much and that’s when I come back for refreshing!
Time is flying, and thank you so much for the comments. Once my Polymega comes in, I plan on giving the Sega CD, and TG16 / Duo the same love. :D
Thank you so much. This video brought back so many childhood memories.
Glad it could bring such joy - I was 20 when I got the system in 1996, and there's a reason it's still my favorite to this day. Spread the video around, let others relive their childhood. :)
Thanks for putting this together. Beyond the Beyond was an instant pickup, even if it was apparently not favorably reviewed in its time.

holy crap, how many fishing games...

+juanse111 And Barbie games!
And Disney games, although the Toy Story Racing game looked decent. I might have to try that one.
@@jeremyc9593 I tried it. Kinda buggy and slow-paced. 5/10 if you're patient. Best racer on the PS1 is Crash Team Racing.
Amazing Tribute. Nostalgia at its finest
I am working on going for the entire PS1 library, so happy to find this video!!
Thanks! Good luck with the quest. Spread the word on the video, this was made with my actual full set on real hardware. :D

Wow..... Talk about a labour of love. Good job!
Nice job on the WCW sequences too :)
Holy crap man thanks a lot I finally found my favorite game in ps1 in my childhood .. Nice to see you again Kingsley for so many years .. 52:40
You're welcome! Thanks for the kind words - spread the video around to friends, that's what it's there for - the memories and new discoveries!
39:08 - Fox Hunt - Lmfao! Wtf?
Lol, I saw that and came to the comments to see if anyone mentioned. A truly WTF? moment.
The amount of Test Drive games for the PSone is just insane
PlayStation
Great idea, superbly executed.
Now do this for another console. I'll wait.
+deedeedaydee There's plans for Saturn....but that's still a ways off :D
I was steeling my self to go through the Wikipedia PS1 game list. This is immensely helpful. Thanks for sparing me the work!
Check out my site at game-rave.com - full lists and other goodies :D
56:03 The way he transitioned threw all the madden games was on point ! 👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼💯
Thank you! There are a ton of edits like that - Sony's MLB series sets up a Grand Slam, Toshinden 1 rolls into 2, the entire Final Fantasy numbered games cast Shiva and so forth. I love that people are are catching on to them. :)
GameRaveTV thank you for the awesome edit lol I noticed those too Madden was just my favorite !
this is awesome!
but I do wish it had been done in 4:3 not stretched to widescreen.. guess that would have taken time in the ps3 menu to fix every time.
+PotbellyPunch
This wasn't a PS3. :) This is an original PlayStation hooked up via scart cable to an HDMI upscaler, which is being captured via HDMI to an elgato which kept the source format.
pinball big race usa is so fun xD
Wow! Amazing piece of work.
Thanks! Hopefully more to come.
It honestly spooked me and thought the enemy was still alive coz it follows where you are looking xD
But anyway i get to a room where there's a switch or a bomb we need to disable, and if done incorrectly, the hotel would explode.
We didn't play any other console other than the ps1 then, i even had vague memories of games that was actually games, like brave fencer musashi, thunder force v, and c-12 the final resistance (the 2 latter i found from you so thank you again xD) hmm, guess i have to keep looking from other sources and hope i find it if my memory isn't lying to me
@@GameRaveTV btw the ps1 classic came out some days ago, am wondering whats your opinion about it?
I've had a few people ask that, may just do a Present Tense Episode tomorrow once I can read up in it. :) If you check the GRTV archives I did do a video previously about the concept where I tried to align the potential games as close to the NES Classic as possible.
@@GameRaveTV coming back here to tell that I've found the game, its a Japanese title called Expert, clearly fit my description after seeing the intro sequence and the first part of the gameplay, thanks again for this wonderful video
Thank you so much for this. I'm rebuilding my ps1 collection and this is really helping me find new games I never heard of
Thanks for the kind words, and welcome to the channel! I'm so happy to this video is still providing people with help. :) Stay to see all the cool little details / edits.
I was wondering about the game I played at my cousin's many years ago that I never got the name of. It was Tail Concerto so thanks. :D
+Jeville42135 :D
i like how you make the maddens switch. smooth. nice one
Thanks! There's actually a lot of those type of sequences :D
C12:Final Resistance, Man I have been looking for that title for years. Probably because it has C12 in a title.
1:29:56 ReBoot: Countdown to Chaos
1:57:26 Beast Wars
PSone had so many great games I loved the RPGs but the one memory I'll never forget about the PSone was I had to buy all the Football (Soccer) games on the system because my cousin from the UK wanted to play them and her parents wouldn't let her play video games in their home, when ever we would play she would always yell GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! almost all the time because I was never good at Football (Soccer). LOL Good time, R.I.P cousin.
Brave Fencer Mushashi needs a remake, game was way ahead of its time when it was released.
NBA Shoot Out 2001-2002 good transition edit on the 3-pointer 🏀
From what I have read you can fix this with the yt:stretch=4:3 tag.
these games look so primitive now days. Back in the day FF7 , xenogears and MGS were mindblowing though
Thank you very much for this great work! Any chance for a longer cuts versions with 20 or so seconds?
1:54:31 that was genius! I find something new every time!
I'll have to finally write up every single trick I put in there. :)
@FutureGaming3000 , what is the game shown on Namco Museum Vol 5 - O ?
That's Legend of Valkyrie.
Great video I collect so these videos are great help!
Thank you for the kind words! Check out the rest of my channel and you'll find anger-free (well, aside from the VGA videos) collecting fun and enjoyment. Spread the word, and share the video. :D
Would love to see this for the ps2!!!!!:D
+Lex Stucker The PS tops out at 1284 games, where the PS2 had roughly 2000. It would be a 4.5 to 5 hour segment. @_@; Sadly I don't collect PS2, so someone else will have to step up to the challenge. :D
+GameRaveTV If we use Sony's official numbers, all PS2 games add up to about
10,987 games around the world. It would be insane for anyone to try and collect them all.
I'm actually doing this for the PS2 .. just started, but already covered the first 100 games, you can watch it on my channel, hope you like it !
I'm actually doing this for the PS2, including european and japanese exclusive games, I think total games will be more like 3000 titles
Man the PS1 had a lot of fishing games
I see that the NBA Lives are tied together too. Nice!
I don't know if you care or not but there is a NASCAR Rumble Collectors Edition that was not listed in the video.
Hello! Thanks for watching! It wouldn't need to be added, it was just a re-release in a 3-pack with 2 other EA games.
Eu jogo até hoje o meu PlayStation 1,principalmente o jogo Command & Conquer
There was a PS demo with this game (survival/shooter/horror) where you statred off in a snowy mountainside i believe,
then ended up in a cave system within the mountain (tech/industrial setting) however there were these giant silverfish looking bugs that wiped all the workers out. Anybody know the name of the game by chance?
Again, it was on a ps1 demo disc. Cant remember name of it😢
US, PAL, or Japan?
Utterly fantastic
9:02
A reference to The Italian Job?
Hi there, love your passion with the video.. but I can’t seem to find my fav game I used to play back then it’s called KrossFire
Easy answer when I have never heard of the game. :D The video is strictly the USA released games, KrossFire was a European / PAL only release.
Thank you for the compliment, did you notice all the hidden cuts (like Shiva being cast across all the Final Fantasies?)
Welcome to the channel!
Ha! I caught what you did there with Tiny Toons!
One of my favorites :) Be sure to spot all the other ones like the casting of Shiva across all the numbered Final Fantasies, the grand slam set up across all the MLB, and more. :)
Thank you Lawrence
Some of these clips would make for some excellent memes.
You can make a video of all PS3 games with the cover and other systems please ? Thanks
I regretfully don't have a full PS3 set as I do PS1 games, and truth be told will never have one. Someone else will need to make a PS3 compilation.
Awesome! so much epicness!
1 million Test Drive games OMG
DANI MADRID Actually theres 7
When fishing ruled the gaming market
Good god this is amazing!
the only word i can think of to say after watching the whole video is polygons
Didn't know it has that much army man games lol
wow, thanks for doing such a project, must have cost you a lot of time and money.... do you really own all psx-games?
how long did it take to acquire them?
+MoKVidel Hello! Well, I already owned the games, so that was free. :) It was just a lot of time that was spent.
I started actually collecting PS in about 2001, and finished right around the time the 3-Pack collectors editions hit. That was the "one of every game", now I'm still tacking down variants.
I was blessed in that I was able to collect for the system at the high point of it's 'leaving the sales floor'. I picked up tons of games for super cheap. Now a days, it would cost a pretty penny to purchase some of the games. :(
Are these all the games?? I want to collect and im not sure if this is all
It's a shame you produced this with a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of preserving the original 4:3 aspect ratio. Seeing all the circular balls in Buster Brothers rendered as ovals at 18:01 is a lost opportunity.
+BulletPeople Ask and you shall receive: t.co/rjYx0vh7uX
39:09. what the fuck type sound/Game is that lol
Indeed! I actually have Tobal No. 2 patched with an English Translation on my Polymega. :D
interesting that you didn't include the year of release for the games in the video.
Hey man, all nice?
I have a doubt... Star Ixiom (Europe) runs fine on ePSXe 2.0.5?
Thanks dude!
Hi!
I don't follow PAL releases or really use emulators, I wouldn't be any help, sorry.
I understand... No problem!
However, I use emulators and look for good game ROMs from all regions... Because in my country, the original PS1 games are very expensive! And finding a PS1 in good repair is practically impossible.
Anyway, I thank you for your attention! 👍😎
Thank you
You're certainly welcome! Spread the video around. :D
Sub to the channel and keep up with all the future work. You can check out my site as well as game-rave.com for more hi-jinx.
Better than last gameplay
The best console is PS1 gameplay...I don't care about graphics!!!
Preach, my good man. Preach!
