I'm curious, weren't the games/cartridges also really expensive as well? I thought they were over $150.00? I remember or THOUGHT I remembered them at $189.99. That seems crazy but the system was the most advanced out at the time. Nobody had one. I spent all my cart pushing paychecks on my systems and games. I had the Sega Master System, Genesis, Nintendo NES, SNES, and the TurboGraphx-16. My room was the neighborhood arcade. It was "cool" until so called friends started stealing my stuff. Aah memories, some great, some not so much. But the games themselves....EPIC!
I had Panasonic 3DO back in 1995 good memories and some real interesting games like Gex, Lost Eden, Casper, Cannon Fodder, Escape from Monster Manor, Need for Speed, Killing Time, Myst, Flashback, Phoenix 3, Return Fire, Robinsons Requiem, Soccer Kid, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Wing Commander, Theme Park, Wolfenstein 3D, PGA Tour 96, Ballz DC was my fav games. I want to buy this console once again on ebay. Its worth it.

Still have mine (the Goldstar version with the VCD cartridge) and at one point I had many of these US games shown here. Most long sold off, but kept those embarrassing light gun games, that Virtual House one, Monster Manor, Bazookotone, Killing Time, Road Rash and Need For Speed. Interesting how Need For Speed still holds up graphically today compared to a typical PS 1 racing game. Don't regret letting those Alone in the Dark games go, however. Can't imagine attempting to play something that chunky and slow today even if I'm in a retro mood.
On this console there are good games, but they criminal are not enough! For me personally play station the honored winner in the generation of video game consoles.

guardian wars is the best 3d0 game, but demolition man was good too. im tryna figure out what this one game was called, youd walk around a huge open concept map, where the bosses were labeled by pool balls, wherever the pool ball was youd know the boss was around there somewhere.
One of my favorate games on the 3DO is Gridders. That's is truly one of the best games ever created. The artwork is badass. The concept's original, blocks chasing after you, software's O.K. but the artwork is absolutely breath-taking It screams quality!

It's all good. I was lightheartedly joking. And most certainly nothing against the Russians, because they have one of the biggest Dreamcast homebrew communities and are very much keeping the DC alive and well. And I can appreciate it being his *favorite*, in contrast to being the *best*; because although the Genesis/Megadrive is my *favorite*, I personally feel that the Dreamcast is the *best* even though it can be reasonably debated that any current-gen console is technologically better/best.

I fully understand nostalgia and so on, but 3do was never competitor to playstation or n64 it wasn't really 32 bit console. 3do wasn't capable to work with real 3d graphics. It was rather competitor to snes and genesis and even there it flopped because of high initial price and bad game library. No offence, it has some good games like wolfenstein 3d and killing time, but the majority of games was trash. They just thought that this awful FMV will be next "Big thing", but people wasn't dumb and didn't want to play films instead of games.

I don't doubt about your love of the system... I can't believe I bought one of these consoles. But I had to have it in my quest to have every game system made. Atleast it is worth more now and it came with Super Street Fighter ll Turbo inside the system the guy didn't know about. I see that game has gone up in price also. The guy was an asshole even negotiating on the price of the system and always was when I would buy anything from him but he was the only one I could get this stuff from. This was back before 2010 when I was snagging stuff off Ebay when it was dirt cheap also. But this system wasn't at the time.

Oh I had 3do never heard of supreme warrior I found out why, it came out for Sega CD first. Just like NIGHT TRAP was never advertised for 3do but was on it. Came out for Sega CD first. Way of the warrior was a 3do ONLY GAME unlike night trap. Monster manor, gex, way of the warrior, twisted a couple others were 3do only I believe
Very common limitation for that console generation, Sega Saturn and PlayStation also suffered from this. In the next console gen it wasn't as noticeable though. I'm not sure if it's possible to overcome this limitation through emulation, but it would be nice...
My house was robbed because of my 3D0 I had in the early 90's. I was the spoiled kid that my Mom paid $700 for it. I had the most perfect port of SF2 at the time. My so called friends could not take it so they broke in my house and stole it. I bought another one days later.
This console was the drizzling shits, there is literally zero reason to buy this, nearly every game on it is boring shite and the very minimal amount of good games for it are on other, better consoles. Easily the worst mainstream gaming system to ever be released
