Back in the time when wielding a super-heavy weapon was rewarded and you actually traded speed for some extra damage and poisebreak. In Elden Ring, using a colossal weapon means you'll have ultra slow speed, worse hitbox, worse damage and worse stagger than a dual curved sword running attack.
not even remotely true. colossal weapons in elden ring are absolutely overpowered. greatsword + lions claw and you get insane damage, stance break, and poise.
@@alabboop5342 its true, but its a main part of the game. but even if you didnt use lions claw, the damage and stance break on a fully charged heavy attack is still great.
When I played one run with my cousin I did the sanme with the Astora Greatsword. Kinda the same thrust damage and everything got cheesed with the knockdown. Well too bad for everyone not strong enought to withstand that thrust but hey, I get stunlocked all the time in DS so my turn for that same thing
These are the kinds of tactics I think of whenever I see someone saying DEX is op. With a heavy weapon, you can control the pace of a fight by breaking the opponent's Poise in one hit; STR PvE is so much easier than DEX. For PvP, high Poise would be almost mandatory, but the worst situation you'd find yourself in then (assuming no blatant mistakes) would be a stalemate: not being fast enough to hit the opponent, but also never being hit, since it'd cause a trade, and you'd win because of Poise.
It's not like this is the only UGS that does this. I'd even argue FUGS does this better, but you cant buff that, Astora GS does that kinda knockback too, and the Cathedral Knight GS got major knockback aswell.
@@miikarajala9338 I was pretty sure twinkling titanite weapons couldn't be buffed, but also i didn't play DS3 in like 4 years, guess i confused that with infusability, which is the one that matters more to me tbh. I'd go Astora, just for the sheer weight advantage. Can you even 1 hand that with your build? If so, you're missing out on some damage potential and if not, well....who cares, i guess....unless you pvp.
@Micro IQ Plays gotta love the charge for sure. The AR difference is pretty negligible all things equal...like 100 AR....and its split damage on the LKGS. You wouldn't miss the damage much. Plus astora weighs so much less. I'd maybe swap over to LKGS at meta or higher msybe?
Nice showcase Retains lightning damage when infused, so when you have a Dark (or Chaos) Lothric Knight Greatsword you will be outputting damage scaling with all four STR/DEX/INT/FAI. Two-handed R2 useful for Hyper-armoring through the Farron Greatsword windup, at least when you charge the R2. Sometimes it can really make FGS users rethink their pathetic excuse of a playstyle.

Moonlight greatsword at home:
However, its one of my favs if you are just looking for pure throbbing power
throbbing
metal pipe falling sfx
This sword on a blessed infusion is absolutely beast!
exact same i did lol
The elevator shaft is also very OP in that area
Same way you can kill every npc invader.
You can stunlock freide and abyss watchers with correct timing
Alluring Skulls off a cliff is so much funnier though

Endgame Hodrick can roll out of it though
The poke is pretty good, but wish the animations were more like how the Lothric Knights use them.
I don’t see anything wrong with being rewarded for your stat investment.
it also isnt a simple weapon to pick up, same with cathedral greatsword, they arent necessarily simple drop rates on merely flimsy enemies.
That's the way I did it too. I spent much of my initial run cosplaying a Lothric Knight.
The sound of the ringed knight seords falling remind of the fx Guts sword had on the new anime.

What you say is mainly due to the fact that in Elden Ring, the hits only stun for one hit while in DS3 it was for two guaranteed hits

Me literally taking weeks to days to fell this dickhead of a enemy only to see him just obliterate him. Heart sad emoji

Im using that and the cathedral greatsword in my build to swap between for effects. Im upset the lothric one has lightning added.

Is that the falling pipe sound effect? If this the work of the illuminati?
I also do this with the Astora Greatsword 😂
