I have Plaits, and have been considering a Brains for back-up and additional percussion options. This looks much more feature-rich, and would therefore be a better option- depending on price, and the fact that I would also need a Pallete as I don’t have a 1U row. Great demo- thanks.
You can do it I think, and I believe it works fine, it’s just not optimised for the hardware changes. (I haven’t tried it as I still have an OG Plaits so I run the new firmware on that)
@@TomChurchill Cool, thanks! I still have the original Plaits too. The Apex X is taking most of the space in my 1U row, so the RO'VED will have to wait!
Hi Tom Nice description of this module which covers a lot of ground, so much potential, mind you I have Brains and MF so might just have to do work rounds to get near this ROV Looking forward to more of your Tutorials so Noice ly presented Thank you👍🆒🎶🌟🌟
There isn’t a custom version of it available for RO’VED yet (to make use of the extra controls) but it might be possible to install it anyway I think… Keep an eye on this thread, there’s some discussion about the firmware at the bottom: modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=262388
got Ro'ved. It is a great module but not just a clone - I have og plaits and there are differences, aside from the form factor and clickable knobs - fw 1.1 as shown here greatly expands modulation possibilities. However, you cannot upgrade Roved to 1.2 without loosing this extra set of features - so if you are set on orange models, all these alternative features will not work, as Plum hasn't updated plaits 1.2 code to fit the Rov'ed hardware - it is amazing 1 u though, and it is very cool as shown in the video.
Just when I was looking at what to do about the big gaps in my 1U row, this video pops up. Super informative and well-paced, cheers!
Thanks, glad it was useful! I think it’s a great addition if you have some 1U space to fill 👍
This is one of the most exciting and inspiring eurorack videos I've seen in a while! Thank you! 👏
Thanks Jordan, glad you enjoyed it!
@@TomChurchill Your channel is amazing man, keep it up!
Just ordered RO'VED - exited and can't wait to play with it!
Excellent - enjoy! :)

Cheers - much appreciated! :)

This is still the #1 ro’ved video out there, and I am really curious to see your take on the new 1.2 plaits firmware update
Please please?
super good stuff
Still no news to see if one can you upload the new Plaits firmware with FM banks into RO'VED? Those extra 8 banks are amazing.

Cool! Will you be able to update it with the latest firmware from MI?
