It such a shame that Estonia won with one of their worst ever entries. All these beautiful entries here and the only one than can call itself a winner is the crap of 2001. Absurd!
Few comments: The clips are too short. I think it would be better to react to all the Eurovision songs seperately. The La Forza video wasn't her Eurovision performance. It was her Eesti Laul performance which is the national final to decide who will represent your country in Eurovision. Estonia last won the Eurovision in 2001 and hosted it in 2002. :)
AWESOME!!! I am really glad, that you checked out Estonian Eurovision also. I also recommend you checking out Finnish and Swedish ones(Sweden has some GREAT songs, has won lately in 2012 and in 2015). Estonia has won the contest once in 2001, with Everybody by Dave Benton and Tanel Padar (Tanel Padar is a really good Estonian musician). Estonia skipped some years of Eurovision in the beginning, but we have taken part of the contest every year last 20+ years. 2005 "Let's get loud" has a better version also (remix by 2000s Estonian group called Moon Taxi, but it sadly isn't in RUclips like rest 99% of their songs, but if you want to check that version out, the song is luckily on Spotify) I laughed when the 2008 song came :D It is called Leto Svet and it is by Kreisiraadio. These dudes just wanted to have fun and make the stage performance as absurd as possible and that even didn't plan to win, but Estonians liked Kreisiraadio, so they voted for that song and it won Estonian song contest. You should check this song full version out in "American Reacts to Estonian Music" video, because it is quite funny :D 2017 was a big shock to all Estonians basically, because everyone was sure that we will get to final, but sadly we didn't pass the semi-final, the song was very good in my opinion and it deserved a lot more than it got. La Forza was just AMAZING! The song itself and the light performance on the stage was so professional. The skirt cost was somewhere around 60000€ and that made some Estonians mad, but personally I think the show was worth the money, because it was just so perfect. The song got 8th place in the finals. Although I didn't think that La Forza is going to win, the actual winner was a BIG disappointment to me actually. I wanted Cyprus to win, but they got the 2nd place and Israel won(with one of the worst songs of Eurovision 2018 in my opinion). That tommy Cash joke made me laugh quite hard :D It was a good joke and at the right time. I like your taste of humor, it is just right for me and possibly for rest of Estonians also :) I haven't been into livestreams before, because I prefer video more than a stream, but the things have changed since you started streaming, my bro. Your streams are really good and interesting and you actually like to talk with us and you read every comment that is left. It is a very good news, that you will stream more in the future, I like to watch them, even if I miss a stream, I usually watch it back ;) Damn, that comment got quite long, didn't it. This reaction video was awesome but the base video was not very good one. Just showing random parts of songs not always the chorus or bridge which lost the "soul" for many songs for me. Ott "Kuula" for example. Only good presentation was the last one. :) I suggest re-do :D
@@walkorrun Yes I want to slap the video maker for not showing the best part of Kuula and some other songs too, but there isn't a better one, is there? I'll maybe make one, but I am kinda busy with my own channel right now, today is a deadline for video and Monday is another one.

2001 was the first time we won with Tanel and Daves song. And they're skipping years because some years we didn't make it to the final, estonia first started participating in 1994 although eurovision started 1956. :)
We didn't make it to the final many times, they skipped the 1995 contest, but we have been to other Eurovisions since 1994. We have taken part of the contest 24 times, 15 of them making it to the Grand Final also. The reason why Estonia didn't participate before 90s, was that Estonia was part of Soviet Union, Estonia wasn't a separate country like it is since year 1991.
American in Tartu here. I like the songs in eesti keelt. The english lyric songs just remind me too much of mainstream American music, which is just so uncreative and/or repetitive these days. So tired of mainstream pop, etc. But I guess I'm just biased, since I already love techno, synthwave, 80's, 90's dance, etc.

Not sure if it was mentioned here already in the comments, but with regards to Estonia missing in every a odd year: The contest used to implement a relegation system where countries with the lowest placement average (let's say you've been in the bottom of the pack for the past 3 or so years) are forced to sit out a year in order for other interested countries to take part. By 2003, there were more countries than the show is able to accommodate in one night so the semifinals where introduced, starting with just one semifinal and then later adding a second in 2009.
1: Brian, in the 90's, because of more countries wanted take part, the 5 or 6 lowest placing countries from 94 had to withdrawl and make place for low placing countries from 93 to return. Estonia was one of unfortnate to place last in 94. Or by finicial reasons. 2: The winning country gets the chance to host the next Eurovision and Estonia won in 2001. Thier only victory thus far in 2019.
04:45 The lideral clip you just watched before you asked when eurovision was in Estonia, was in Estonia as we won 1st place year before (the country who wins will host the eurovision next year).
A few years was skipped because Estonia didn't get the points the previous year to be allowed to compete. During 1994-2003 it was only one night until 2004 when a semifinal was introduced.
Koit Toome represented Estonia in 1998 with the song "mere lapsed" (sea children/children of the sea) and he also ocompeted along side Laura (competed for Estonia in 2005) for Estonia's 2017 entry (was gutted it didn't qualify)
I voted for Elina in 2018 and I am from Romania. My winner, that year! I also liked Israel (Netta) and Cyprus (Eleni Foureira). But Israel, live, was a dissapointment for me! Netta was lack of air while dancing and singing. Au contraire, Eleni managed very well singing and dancing! But Elina's voice was over the other contestants, so I voted for Estonia (for her). I know Eurovision is a "Song" Contest, but for me all things matter: song, voice, staging... And Elina has got all! Cypru' s got staging and song, Israel's got song and originality. These are my oppinions and I don't mind if anybody thinks otherway.
Next you should react to Finland in ESC. 😉 And Sweden has some good entries in the competion too (praising them hurts my finnish pride but it's true, they're good😁)

Actually, Elina came in 8th place in the 2018 ESC contest. But yeah...that song was my winner!
Often it’s a financial issue that keeps countries from competing in the contest.
Koit Toome represented Estonia in 1998 with the song "mere lapsed" (sea children/children of the sea) and he also ocompeted along side Laura (competed for Estonia in 2005) for Estonia's 2017 entry (was gutted it didn't qualify)
The only time it was held in Tallinn Estonia was in 2002. Estonia won in 2001.
Omg our song in 2008 was so bad like they thought it was a joke when they did it but others didn't like it soo
Estonia won 2001 eurovision
Recently one of the slogans of a Eurovision was "celebrate diversity" ^^
Rändajad (2009) is the best among all, IMO
I am from estonia

2015 was the best year for Estonia
Sahlene who represented Estonia in 2002 is actually Swedish. Comes from my hometown too.
Like kui oled eestlane👍👍
The year was 2001 when Estonia won the Eurovision and in 2002 Eurovision was in Estonia
Damn you are on a roll 😀
Estonia has won Eurovision only once. It was in 2001 when Tanel Padar and Dave Benton sang a song called Everybody. So Eurovision 2002 was in Estonia. Then when got third place.
They are not skipping year. If a country ended below a threshold (below 12th place i think?) they could not participate the following year.
