    Typically, I just look at what I am missing for shape/cover/core or what may need to be replaced from what I currently have. It's one of the things that I go through when I am getting things ready for USBC Nationals, just my process. I limit myself to 6 going out, and I try to look at what I've got for shape and overall strength. A little bit of overlap from ball to ball is desirable, just to make making the ball changes easier to get along with.

    Quite honestly, what Jimoo said about the Phaze2 being his benchmark in his arsenal video led me to buy it. I am a newer two handed, but older bowler.

    Depends on what comes out compared to whats in the bag. Regardless, always going with choices under the STORM umbrella.

    I've only used one pearl ball ever, the Hustle Wine, but I may have to get a Lightning Blackout when I decide to get something new.
    I love bowling on the dried-up house patterns at my center...not!
    As for picking a ball, since I have only been bowling for two years, I always lean towards bowling balls with the brightest colors! (I am only partially educated on how all the numbers work...)🤣

    I like to attend ball demos at my local bowling centers. They usually do a Storm demo and a Brunswick demo about twice a year. This lets me try out several different balls that I may have had my eye on and lets me see exactly how they match-up with my game.

    I look for something to fill a gap in my arsenal. Not in any order: core strength, cover strength. I want to see down lane miss room on YT vids. I like continuous type ball motion.

    My motto has always been, if it comes up light, move right and its never failed me. Matter of fact, i use that motto because i heard multiple pros say it. So i get confused when bowlers come up light and keep moving left. Youre just making things harder for yourself

    I used to just get ball where I felt like it looked good for someone who didn’t use much hand. But now getting more in it, I’m looking to fill my 5-6 ball slots! But I am not big on upgrading all the time so I have stuff that’s 8years old but still work

  • @Vinny_fonz_bowls
    @Vinny_fonz_bowls Месяц назад

    I usually look to replace a ball in my arsenal based off of “need”. Usually I see that I don’t have a ball that quite fits what I’m looking for during play. Whether it be a ball up from a benchmark ball or ball down. Then I look to see do I need earlier hook or later, and then more or less board coverage.

    1st Step Know your bowling style. I like to play the 10 board at the arrows to the 5 board down lane, that will limit the ball selection. The Blackout will be Excellent for my game. Paul

    I usually go by coverstock name... my favorites are 900 Global 70's & Ebonite GB12's. Then try to match up with cores that do not have a large mid band (saturn ring style) core. Ebonite CB2 & Storm Shape Lock HD cores are a great match for me.

    Coming up on 2yrs of bowling ... being a lefty with not much rev, so i play more staright. So i look for balls that allow me to do so, that'll also hook without high rev rate

  • @Jason-qt8bm
    @Jason-qt8bm Месяц назад +1

    I look at the RG and diff and think about the type of Lane play and shape I want to create with the ball. Then I consider the type of cover stock . The type of reaction that I want will also make me think about asymmetrical versus symmetrical. Once I've done my research I then head to the pro shop and work with the PSO to get a good ball best of luck everyone out there let's have fun and go bowling

    The way I look at bowling balls is that I look at the bowling balls that are in my bag that are starting to die and look for the same brand or crossbrand comparisons. Right now, I'm looking for something to replace my Phaze 2. I'm thinking of four balls. The zen master, the GB5, the optimum idol, and the Cipher.

    Lighting Blackout, more like Lighting Blackout in a bottle. Anyways as for your question, I go and talk to my guy at my Pro Shop at my Bowling Alley. He recommended mostly Hammer bowling balls with the latest is the NU Blue. He said that was good because I have a high rev rate as a right hander and I like the NU Blue Hammer. After I talk to him, I go to videos like you guys.

    So a reason why he used the lightning on shark. He was last number one seed. Thus all the breakdown happened before he got to bowl. TV breakdowns really quickly with all the lights and heat on the lanes. Really interesting on this.

    I plan my arsenal out for sport shots, not so much house shots. I take every patterns length/mls/ratip/etc into concideration, and build what I consider to be the most versatile. Atm the weakest ball in my bag is the 900 Global Xponent, which is not a good thing, so I'm thinking of adding one of the bew hustles to my bag. As for shapes, that typically depends on the layout/specs on the ball

    My choices are based on what's needed. I have around 50 balls I rotate from time to time. 15 to 20 are tournament equipment. The other 30 are league balls split between 2 leagues that play completely different from each other. So I only buy based on what voids to fill. Or it's just going to replace a ball that needs an updated cover.

    I'm moderate speed and revs, 13-15mph 200-250rpm. For my style of play at my alley, weaker balls work better so I go for those types of balls. I stick with SPI brands. My current go to is an iq tour. Looking to add a slightly stronger pearl ball next.

    For me $250 for a ball is a lot of money so I do a lot of research before buying anything. I watch a lot of reviews on RUclips actually you guys are probably my favorites just because you give more insight into what the ball is capable of and who would fit that ball the best. I also like to buy slightly used stuff in the $50-$100 range and have it redrilled and just experiment with them using different layouts than I would normally use without paying top dollar to try something different that I might not like.

    i get stressed as hell trying to figure out what new ball i want. i only buy them out of necessity. like im at a new house and they're not reacting like i want them to. so i have a vague idea of what i want, but then it seems like there's 15 different balls that fit the bill. so i just ask my pso or his employee what i should get because they know my style, and they know the balls better than i do, and they haven't sold me a bad ball yet. god bless pso's

    I watch quite a few videos. I try to see how the ball looks from the zones that mostly play in on a THS pattern. I mostly play from 4 to 16 at the arrows. I also look at the numbers of the ball. I have 290 to 300 rev rate and I roll the ball off my hand about 16.5mph. So I look for balls with low RGs in the range of; 2.46-ish to 2.51. Color doesn't matter too much to me.
