The drawings reflect you becoming more relaxed with the shapes involved in horses rather than what you think is there. I like The Pink page particularly. You're talent and eye holds you in good stead. I enjoy your videos very much.
When she said something about the triangle separating the thigh and stuff, I almost wheezed- I don’t think she realized which part it’s meant to represent. I’m a horse illustrator and I believe that she did an amazing job considering her inexperience with this sort of I guess difference from her drawing preferences (her characters, clothes, etc.) I’m proud! Keep it up 👍

Horses are my favorite animal! I’ve been in art block for a while and I think drawing horses will be a good warm up, thank you for motivating me to get better and helping me draw out of my comfort zone!

as someone who has loved horses ever since i was a baby and is also an equine artist, this is video title definitely excited me! i've studied horses and their anatomy for around 10+ years so i understand it well, it's pretty amazing isn't it? this is totally my favorite video of yours so far, and i gotta say, for someone who is super new to horse anatomy, you did pretty well!! legs are definitely the hardest part when it comes to drawing horses, and even now i still will struggle sometimes, so this was so fun to watch. :)
Something I’ve been doing lately which is really fun is doing the rough sketch with the highlighter and then go over it with a pen, it’s cool to a thick highlighter sketch then add details with the pen.
Here’s a few horse facts! The little part of the mane on their forehead is called a forelock! That bump where you were trying to name a bone I believe is called a hock. That horse was so muscly because Clydesdales (that breed of horse) were bred to be workhorses, pulling carts and plowing fields. Horses with blue eyes are called glass-eyes! I could go on and on, but I’ll stop there. :)
Watching you draw these horses makes me jealous and proud, I've watched you improve over the years, I've been watching you since your health thing happened and I'm glad you got that fixed, or figured out.

Your videos always create inspiration. Something that I see other artists do to compensate for drawings ending up too big, is to add a little scrap paper to extend the page

Fun fact, horses usually don’t look at things head on like humans a lot of other animals do (tigers, wolves, etc), this is a defense mechanism to see on coming predators, now those of us who have played Skyrim know that the horses there look at us head on, This implies Skyrim horses are predators.

They all look great! I used to draw horses, pegasai, kelpies, kirins and unicorns all the time. I haven't drawn any seriously in a few years, but watching you do these sketches kind of makes me want to do something similar haha. I love that style of sketch, especially for horses (and deer) for some reason, the really defining lines for their muscles and the angles. For some reason my most favorite one you did was the one of the horse running from behind lol. I just love the way you did the muscles on its hind legs and hind quarters. Also I miss using ball point pens for sketching, I should dig them out again!
as someone who mostly draws horses: the legs will always be the hard part, it’s just the thing 😂 you learn the anatomy and angles but you’ll still go to line a sketch and be like “what the hell is that?”
As someone who draws horses all the time, your horses look really good! It seems like you catch on pretty quick, and being able to discern the shapes and being gestural with horses really helps. As a suggestion, for if you plan on drawing more equine shaped animals in the future: The chest area (shape-wise) is around the same size as the rear from a side angle. From a front angle, the horses' butts will be slightly larger. The head of the horse depends on the breed, so it doesn't really matter. And I can't knock off points for "inaccuracy" because really, it's art, it's however you want to interpret it. People shouldn't be allowed to gatekeep art and assume things need to look a certain way. All anyone needs to take into stride is that as long as you understand the basic anatomical structure of the creature you're working with, the interpretation/stylisation is up to you. And I love watching your art style evolve through the years (I can't remember when I first started following you; must've been 2018?), and the way you adapt things to your art style is always lovely.
I've been drawing horses a lot lately, both in psd and pen, I do agree that drawing in pen can help you understand that you can make mistakes but it takes a bit more of brainwork to fix or work off of that mistake. It also helps when you have mistakes that you take too hard or keep bottled up, it allows you to understand that you can let go of those mistakes

Yay horses!!! Something I can draw along with and be proud of !! I love the art in this video and I’m using a highlighter and it makes my page just come together !!
These are gorgeous! I think the one thing that maybe takes the sketches away from horse and towards a bovine is the way you have an idea of a dog-like head + snout situation, rather that a continuous straight skull shape with eyes firmly on the sides of it, not looking over a snout. And an anatomy tip! Usually with horses the length of the head, sloping shoulder and lower front leg are the same. That might help with the sizing issues you mention here This is super interesting to follow! An adult illustrator with all the compositional and breaking down skills there is very different than children practising horses, which is what i did and what i've seen in horse art circles a lot.

When you drew the long legs on the one horse I said “Dang those are some lOnG booty legs” And then I just paused, starred at my blanket, and left my room.

I love using highliters and ballpoint pens! They are a great combo! Also the colourless blender with ballpoint pen! The way it smudges looks so good!!

These are gorgeous! I think the one thing that maybe takes the sketches away from horse and towards a bovine is the way you have an idea of a dog-like head + snout situation, rather that a continuous straight skull shape with eyes firmly on the sides of it, not looking over a snout.
And an anatomy tip! Usually with horses the length of the head, sloping shoulder and lower front leg are the same. That might help with the sizing issues you mention here
This is super interesting to follow! An adult illustrator with all the compositional and breaking down skills there is very different than children practising horses, which is what i did and what i've seen in horse art circles a lot.
