When you're doing more research into the legs of the four legged animals you might also want to pay attention to the different tails they have. You tend to default to "horse" when you don't know and sometimes it's a short fluffy tail instead of a long one. Your art is great as always! It's just setting I noticed
I see deer all the time in my back yard, so it kind of shocked me that she didn't really know what they look like, especially the tails, but I get it, everyone grows up in different places, and pays attention to different animals, still love you Rin!
I‘d recommend „Spirit - Stallion of the Cimmaron“. Not just a beautiful movie, but the art is amazing! And the DVD has tutorials on drawing horses🥰 perfect inspo!
I started watching you like 1 month ago and I'm literally obsessed with your videos. I used to draw a lot during high school but then bad stuff happened and I stopped. Your videos inspired me so much that I finally grabbed my pencils after years and I feel like I found myself again. I've forgotten how happy making art makes me feel. Rin, from the bottom of my heart thank you, you don't know how much this means to me.
The Rikki Tikki Tavi film was something I loved as a kid so seeing you mention it (even as a vague memory lol) made me make happy noises. This video was a treat to watch as a major animal lover, great art!
Hi Waffles! You are amazing at drawing animals! I don’t know nothing about drawing animals so u are so good at “explaining” how to draw them? Idk if that’s completely what I wanted to say. Have a good rest of the weekend:)
There are even-toed and odd-toed ungulates. Horses only have a single hooved toe on their feet, so they are odd-toed. You are using your horse experience to draw even-toed ungulates (like moose, who have two hooved toes). That's where the confusion is happening.
Ngl, I’m a professional tattoo artist and I still trip over my words when I’m talking about art or design especially when I get excited 😅 I love the fact that we have that in common, also I love the lil guys and your videos. 💖
You’re amazing!! 5 mins in, over 100 comments and 1000 views 💜🙌 that’s amazing!! I love that the art community is that big on YT. You definitely drive me to keep making better and better content!!
I've always lacked motivation but this video started me back up again, starting slowly by drawing animals, and then eventually I'll start to develop my own style that I'm actually happy with. Thank you waffle 😋
Every time waffles uploads I feel the need to grab my sketchbook and create something new - thanks for all the art that would never have been made without you, Rin
just wanted to say i don’t draw, but i’ve been watching every single video for years. i love watching your videos, you have amazing vibes and a great personality. love you so much
You are such an inspiring artist ! All of your videos are so filled with casual and artsy energy, and your sketchbook is just overloaded with creativity and positive vibes ! Keep on the great work.
I think the horse sketches would benefit from having a more defined chest area. Their necks don't really go in such a straight line into their legs, they have kind of a bulge where their chests are. -sincerely, a horse girl who basically only drew horses from age 5-15
I click to so fast. I am going to watch this while doing my bullet journal for December. I love your videos so much. Thank you for making my day better than it was. Thank you 💜💜💜💜💙💙💙💙💜💙💙
I absolutely loved this! If you're looking for a reference point for animals I think the opening sequence of the 1994 Lion King has great examples of representing a diversity of animals in a cohesive style that are still easy to identify!
When drawing a wombat imagine it has no tail as it is just a stump of a tail any ways! I love our Native Australian animals spesh Kangaroos and Wallabies! Love your channel Waffles (Rin) and how you venture out of your comfort zone now and then... I've been in a drawing slump for the last 5 years and my cousin wants me to help her design a character for her am nervous I don't want to let her down 😔
As an Australian i have to say thats not a bad first attempt at drawing a wombat; especially when you didn't even know it existed previously. If you want a challenge, maybe try a few more Aussie animals - kangaroo, koala, bandicoot, emu, platypus, bilby, echidna and others?
@@markgrant3465 Not sure what animal you’re thinking of but platypus are very shy monotremes that live by creeks and ponds, spending much time in the water.
im going through a pretty sad moment in my life and watching your videos distracts me and really makes me feel so much better. thank you for doing what you do! ❤️
Deer and moose have short little bob tails on big ol' badonk booties, not long mane-like ones like horses! That'll go a long way towards making your quick sketches of the doe and moose look instantly more recognizable. ♥️
Ahhh all the animals look so good! And this inspired me to come out of my comfort zone and try drawing other animals (I mostly draw canines and felines). Thank you for making your videos so inspirational and so very enjoyable! :D💚
I can't be the only one that takes inspiration from these Videos, even when I have Art Block, it makes me want to make something, and try something I haven't done before! You have honestly inspired me so much and have helped me improve in skill and in confidence as an artist. I love your wholesome content thank you so much😭
As a hedgehog pet parent, I approve of your hedgehog 😌❤️ They do have tiny curly tails and are surprisingly flexible (or unsurprisingly) with pretty longish legs that they never show (unless they wanna escape bathtime)! They are EXACTLY like a spiky turtle mouse
Just tried it: harder than it looks and than I thought. But good idea, thanks! I got opossum, salamander, armadillo, bumble bee and elephant. Not even very hard ones, I guess, but the result... well, there is room for improvement.
Thanks Rin, I am off to eat some breakfast for Dinner! Yep Waffles are on the menu! I do enjoy your videos, you have the energy to keep creating and on a timer too! Phew!~~
The way I learned how to draw hooved animals (and cats and dogs because their legs work somewhat similarly) is by drawing my little ponies. It's funny rin's brain went to the same place for reference
I’m watching the whole time thinking “she forgot to write mongoose” and felt a great satisfaction when she did at the end. Btw I lived for a while in the US Virgin Islands and Moongooses are like squirrels in the US.
Omg shrews are adorable aren’t they?! I live right next to a forest, so there are quite a few shrews around the property. One day I saw my cat drop a shrew on our deck, and I immediately scared her off so she’d leave it alone. So I went over to it and it wasn’t injured at all! I put it in a little pot so I could bring it back to the safety of his little hole in the ground. It stayed still for a couple minutes because it wasn’t sure of what I was gonna do, and I took the opportunity to gently pet it a couple times before it decided to finally go back into his little home. OH MY GOSH THEYRE SO SOFT. Anyway, there’s my Shrew story lol

straight up. haha
I love Rikki-Tikki-Tavi but I never even knew what a mongoose looked like until today! He's so cuteeeee!
