Wouldn't the Audi dealership go after the driver who flagrantly drove the car into the guardrail? He floored it for no reason and lost control of the vehicle...that's reckless driving. A lot of people don't realize that even though a car can display 15 mi to 'empty,' a slight hill can be enough to kill it. Fuel sloshes to the back of the tank, away from the lift pump, and it runs dry. It's also not good for the pump, as it is cooled by the fuel and is designed to run submerged in fuel. I've heard they can burn out running on fumes all the time. I remember reading in a ford ranger owners manual that if run out of gas, they recommend at least a couple gallons to restart. There was a little note saying if run out on a hill, it may take 5+ gal to be able to start. It's so much easier to just not be cheap or lazy and never let it get that low in the first place.
While this is true for older cars, it isn't for most newer cars and definitely not for the 991.1 this story is about. In the 991.1 the fuel level is not measured, but rather calculated using the input amount and information from the engine. The problem with a batch of C4Ss was that they mistakenly used the software from the normal Carrera S, which uses slightly less fuel because it doesnt have four wheel drive.
15 miles left.. I try not to let my tank get below 1/8 because the fuel pump will run hot when it gets that low as it is not covered with fuel. A mechanic told me that once and it makes sense and my car has the original pump at 260,000 miles.. so it is true in my book.
15 miles till empty, if it got 15 mpg that means only a gallon of fuel but it was probably closer to a half gallon. The fuel pump needs fuel to cool and lubricate the pump, driving a car with half a gallon of gas in it is a terrible idea always.
I never floor a car that im driving for the first time, or a car that i do not own especially on public roads. Why would you ever risk getting into an accident with a car thats not yours.

I work at a Honda dealership and we had a customer test drive our demo DCT Africa twin and upon getting back to the dealership, he tried to do a weird parking maneuver to get it parked backwards, it was a dead day so everyone was just standing around watching him come back and next thing we know we see this dude lay it down on its side. All of us who saw it gasped and went out to help him get it back up since it's not a light bike and he couldn't get it up on his own. Needless to say, he bought one shortly after that but you can sense the embarrassment from him. Super nice dude, just had a little accident which happens. We actually don't let customers test drive new units but Honda allowed us to with a few DCT units but now that their events over, we don't do test drives lol
With all the adrenalin he didn't get it up? What's the africa twin now: 170-190kg? I had a mishap with a 2002 sportster1200 long ago where i layed it on it's side. (wanting to drive out onto the road from a driveway in the rain, and the rear end slipped on a wet manhole cover.) But the 245kg were up again in no time. -> embarressment and adrenalin.
@@nirfz Not to bag the lad, but he freaked out in a shock so I don't think the adrenaline was fully there yet till two of our sales guys made it out there. A few months passed and had another customer lay down the same unit while dipping a turn to deep and than that's when I never heard or seen that unit again lol

He’s not wrong about Audi knowing how to treat people with respect. By far the best buying experience I’ve ever had at a dealership. Doesn’t matter if you’re buying an RS model, or a no-optioned A4, you’re treated the same.
For real. Who the heck gets uptight about mileage on a leased vehicle. That dude is probably beating that A6 3.0 engine right after he took it out of the lot.
The insane change of going from even Kia to Toyota is amazing for me. Customers who religiously take care of their vehicles, keep them forever, don't really bat an eye on big mileage based maintenance costs are amazing. At Kia, it's tooth and nail to get these folks to even do a blinker bulb, much less a filter. I ended up doing a two for one sale to some folks at Kia to just get some sales. At Toyota, I have multiple "don't call me unless it's ready, do any maintenance that is due" customers. Such a crazy change. I hope to soon graduate to Audi haha
I’m a sales porter at Audi dealership currently and see this kind of stuff all the time. People that wanna joy ride the RSQ8 or RS7 on the showroom with no intent of buying it. People complaining why it costs so much to fix a German car.
All of his stories, he makes himself try to sound like such a hero, or the smartest guy ever...and if you listen closely, everything that happens is never because of him. And he always pulls one over on someone. Rumplestilskin strikes again.
@Cliff Bradley .. +1. I too heard this (It ain't me) positioning as well. . Who hangs there hat on "a thinest of margin gas gauge" whilst (professionally-?) conducting a new vehicle test drive. . Not to bright eh!
I think he’s completely full of shit. It’s all exaggerated with made up details. You can tell liars because they put too much specific detail into a story in an attempt to make it convincing. Most people will fall for it. But when someone seems of average intelligence but somehow has a way above average ability to recall specific details you know you are dealing with a bullshit artist.
ITT: a bunch of people that don't realize most Audis (and Subarus) historically literally place their engine block and transmission in front of the front axle - materially different to most front engined platforms that will place the motor ahead of the passenger compartment but behind the front axle centerline (which is literally what the guy says in the video).
Technically you can sell a car as new with up to 7500 miles. Working at Chevy dealer we used a lot of trucks as loaners for 3500 miles and sold them with a discount.
This goes for most cars, but especially for Audi’s you do NOT want to slam the brakes when taking a turn with speed. Your rear end will spin out. Audis are powerful cars, you can’t have any average Joe handling these.
Funny... my local porsche dealer in milwaukee is a nightmare. Rufused to come outside and let me sit in a car when I just had knee surgery. So thats pretty cold and awful customer service.
OMG, I swear that Prius lady could be my mother. She dented all four corners on her X5M and closed the garage door with the liftgate up before deciding it was too big of a car and swapping it for a Prius.
They did, the problem was that a batch of 991.1 C4S were fitted with the fuel-calculator from the normal (non- four wheel drive) Carrera S, hence it calculated an incorrect, read: higher, remaining fuel load as it assumed lower consumption. I'm fairly certain they were made aware of this basically immediately after launch and issued a recall/ fixed the problem in production and notified the dealers. Based on the roll-out I'm quite certain that no car in North America should have had this issue, and imo the dealership tried to pull one on the customers by not making the change and pocketing the allotted budget.
I'm wearing those same exact shoes as him as I'm watching this, how ironic. Nike SB dunk low pro "Pink Pigs" styled after the Porsche Pink Pink 917 racecar
I always thought that leased vehicles included maintenance in the cost of the lease and that's why leasing was so expensive. Is this just an Audi thing where they don't include maintenance in the lease pricing? Or is that every manufacturer?
lol...Audi dealers. I once worked for a sign company in southern NH. I went to an AUDI dealer in Nashua to fix their parking lot light issues. As I was 20 feet up on the ladder truck doing my job I couldn't help but notice the young sales guys moving AUDI's from one spot to another, flooring the cars and spinning the tires from one spot to another. This also happens at the FORD dealership in Nashua NH. These guys are told to put gas in an ST of some model, they go get gas and WOT the car. Buyer beware, when you buy a brand new car make sure the assholes at ANY dealership does not dirty with your car. If they say we'll put gas in your car before you obtain the car tell them HELL NO!!! Put your own gas in your brand new car.
Haha! At the Audi dealership we go to and the neighboring Porsche showroom the people are snobs! My dad has a 2020 A8L and when we test drove it before we got it they were snobs to us besides the sales lady.
Well so much for Audi dealerships then judging by a couple of the stories if they are anything to go by - especially the one where the damage was repaired (obviously not to standard) and then a poor purchaser has to bring it back as the boot had an issue and the damage had not been declared. Just shows it's all down to whom one has to deal with at dealerships - the brand of the car is by the by

Wait...you can do reckless driving on a test drive, damage a car, cause other property damage and not have to pay for it??? Wouldn't the Audi dealership go after the driver who flagrantly drove the car into the guardrail? He floored it for no reason and lost control of the vehicle...that's reckless driving. All new cars should have built-in dash cams with throttle, brake, and steering logging. I'm tired of paying higher insurance to compensate for horrible drivers.
Unless you have the test driver sign an agreement liability can lie with the dealer
IN NEW JERSEY... Any test drive I ever took they ask for my insurance
If this guy can make it in sales anyone can lmao
Vinwiki, clicked, saw it was this guy, noped right out of there
If this is Bell Audi out of Edison, tell us all about the time the snow plow caved in the doors of a SQ5 with a deposit on it, where it was repaired in-house over the week before the owner's purchase, and sold as CPO.
The main conclusion of this video is to always fill up the cars before testdriving them hahaba
15 miles till empty, if it got 15 mpg that means only a gallon of fuel but it was probably closer to a half gallon. The fuel pump needs fuel to cool and lubricate the pump, driving a car with half a gallon of gas in it is a terrible idea always.
That was way more than $15k in damage.
Yeah i was thinking the same
I never floor a car that im driving for the first time, or a car that i do not own especially on public roads. Why would you ever risk getting into an accident with a car thats not yours.
I started working at a Chevy New Car Dealership and 10 minutes after I clocked in I wrecked a brand new car into a telephone pole. I went to my Boss thinking I was going to get fired. All he did was laugh at me and told me to send it to the Body Shop.
Huh… we have a 4S… Look at that ED! I learned something today ! Well done good Sir and great to meet you guys at Amelia!
A few years ago I had an Audio slams into my Kenworth ripping the right fuel tank off I. Downtown DC. The passenger got out looked at me and said “we’ll I guess I just sold the car.”
The driver was “test driving” the car and jumped the curb to pass me while I was making a right hand turn.
Idiot. 🤣🤣
That's why you don't play with semis. They will always win.
Meets a large doctor, instantly thinks about him poaching the tradesman’s entrance. 🤔
Damn this guy’s voice sounds so close to the valet guy
When I test drove my Audi, the sales guy made a comment my driving was scaring him. I was driving my dream car and it had a turbo, I wasn’t driving that bad, but I was testing out the car a bit.
Hey man you gotta test the car
Dealers are used to people "testing the car" , This guy rides in sport sedans test drives for a living. You might not be as good a driver as you think you are.
Maybe you got the salesman who needs to grow a pair, or maybe you're a much worse driver than you think. I don't want to find out
You aint on a race track bud. Test drive is to feel the manoeuvrability of the vehicle.
Sounds like I’m going to Jersey for some test drives 😂
Good luck with those potholes lol
That Dr makes me think of a guy I know. Mullet, ballcap, drinks bud light, ratty jeans, faded lose t-shirt, 40 year old scratched up Rolex, drives an 06 Cadillac CTS with bullet holes in it. Multi-millionaire. Net worth of over 100mil. Goes to show you can't judge someone by their appearance.
Working at Valvoline of all places, a few months back we had a customer come in driving some Hyundai beater cars wearing normal everyday clothes. As we’re finishing up the oil change, dude goes, “yeah I was just at the cars and coffee on the other side of the highway, y’all want me to bring my Lamborghini by?”
Guy pulls up in a chrome wrapped Gallardo and drives it around our lot and let us take pictures of it. Having this job has definitely taught me not to judge people by what they look like, especially don’t judge people by what they drive
@Peter Angles I’m helping out at another store this week. Got a couple people rolling in with bullet holes. Curiosity never peaks hard enough for me to ask 😅
@Peter Angles the commentor’s story was definitely better, I forgot how many comments I leave on RUclips here
I work at a Honda dealership and we had a customer test drive our demo DCT Africa twin and upon getting back to the dealership, he tried to do a weird parking maneuver to get it parked backwards, it was a dead day so everyone was just standing around watching him come back and next thing we know we see this dude lay it down on its side.
I believe they're about 235kg as a DCT so not light but not super heavy. Luckily since it was such a low speed lay down, it had did minimal damage, some scraping on the knuckle guards but that's about it . He proceeded to buy our fully loaded unit however. A few months passed and had another customer lay down the same unit while dipping a turn to deep and than that's when I never heard or seen that unit again lol
@@thatblackwrx Wow, my estimation of the weight was way off.
Low speed, low damage.. was the same with my mishap: few scratches on the exhaust and the righthand grip and break lever.
Thanks for answering!
Now I want to hear the Jeep stories.
This guy is an idiot in the jeep story, he tries to flip a jeep
No you don’t but at the same time you do bc it makes you look at it him like 🤨
He’s not wrong about Audi knowing how to treat people with respect. By far the best buying experience I’ve ever had at a dealership. Doesn’t matter if you’re buying an RS model, or a no-optioned A4, you’re treated the same.
That’s crazyyyy. Dealers treat types of people differently. Why I dislike dealerships and salespeople
That Doctor Porsche story was nice. Never judge anyone. Hope Doc is enjoying his 911
Can't judge a book by its cover, gotta love it!!
8:45 That is the absolute perfect description of a Prius C down to a T
My man wearing the Nike SB Dunk Pink Pigs.... most people don't know about those
I've test driven cars from dealers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Never had to sign a liability waiver.
Florida, Tennessee and Texas here. Never had to sign a liability waiver either.
Never had to sign one in Pennsylvania either.
yikes. Driving a porsche with low gas. i don't even do that in my buick. Poor fuel pump :(
I just took a lease with 800 miles on it. I got those miles credited. Literally who gives a fuck. It’s a lease and dump 😅
For real. Who the heck gets uptight about mileage on a leased vehicle. That dude is probably beating that A6 3.0 engine right after he took it out of the lot.
Absolutely crazy car stories..nice one
Sounds like a typical audi fan
I think he’s completely full of shit. It’s all exaggerated with made up details. You can tell liars because they put too much specific detail into a story in an attempt to make it convincing. Most people will fall for it. But when someone seems of average intelligence but somehow has a way above average ability to recall specific details you know you are dealing with a bullshit artist.
Only thing I hate about having an Audi is the price it cost to replace parts
That 300 miles story is to funny I test drove a truck that had 1500 miles on it once it was a 3 ish year old new car lol
New Jersey here I come! Ima test drive EVERYTHING 😈
Funny... my local porsche dealer in milwaukee is a nightmare. Rufused to come outside and let me sit in a car when I just had knee surgery. So thats pretty cold and awful customer service.
Lol he said "my GM showed up in a large A8" i got news for you, all A8s are large by default.
Maybe what he meant was Long. They have a long wheelbase and a short wheelbase
OMG, I swear that Prius lady could be my mother. She dented all four corners on her X5M and closed the garage door with the liftgate up before deciding it was too big of a car and swapping it for a Prius.
I hope they told Porsche about the thing with the tank. I'm pretty sure that would have made someone in Zuffenhausen go absolutely ballistic.
N I N E ! ! ZISS CANNOT BE POSSIBLE N I N E ! !
The shop can access the crash data. We can look and see what mode it was in. Even if the radio was on and what volume level.
Dude needs more base in his voice.
Agreed, it's driving me insane, but I obviously had to listen to hear the stories lol
Dude needs more better stories in his voice.
@@tripprogers4814 watch his story bout when he worked at Dodge Jeep Chrysler
😂 😂
I wouldn't consider the Audi dealer a step up from Jeep after the no disclosure story. 🙄
I know a guy that had his Audi A4 totaled while getting repairs at an Atl metro Audi dealer. They ended up giving him a loaded out A6.
Making Audis sound like Mustangs!
I think every audi dealer mist have a story about an enthusiastic test drive.
I'm wearing those same exact shoes as him as I'm watching this, how ironic.
Nike SB dunk low pro "Pink Pigs" styled after the Porsche Pink Pink 917 racecar
ok. Max is it?.. you know I am never getting this 15 minutes of my life back, right?
Great couple of stories people can definitely be a pain at car dealerships.
Ayo wayzata??? Porsche is next to the highway. New Ferrari dealership too.
I always thought that leased vehicles included maintenance in the cost of the lease and that's why leasing was so expensive. Is this just an Audi thing where they don't include maintenance in the lease pricing? Or is that every manufacturer?
You likely put regular 87 in that 911 too lol doubt anyone would have premium fuel sitting around.
This guy has a natural customer service voice which i lack
Did he say that NJ is only 150mles from VT?
Who let's someone test drive with 15 miles left ?
apparently the worst Porch/Audi salesman ever
@@tripprogers4814 right ? Then brags like it's a cool experience. Lmao
Ed must have been behind the camera smiling and nodding in agreement all while KNOWING “dude is gonna get hammered for this..”
That poor RS7! Quattro does help, but it can overcome 2 feet of snow, not a bad driver.
Running out of fuel with a porshe..........not as bad as blowing up the engine on one, just ask hoovie.
yeah.. now imagine doing it in a P O R S C H E
Moral of the last story make sure the test drive vehicle has at least a 1/4 tank of gas.
Many times dealer purposely doing that, so customer or potential car thief won’t drive too far away…
Great stories. :) Oh, Ed, when you uploading the Wizard's video? :)
where a live in my city specifically you have to have the money to buy the car before you test drive it :P now i get why
Well.....now I know not to stretch my fuel tank that far. Glad I found out the easy way!
Should have sent some dealer merch to the guy who gave some gas :)
its always that traction control lol
lol...Audi dealers.
350 hundred? Thts not fing high At all🤣🤣

Explaining why dealerships in America suck. In Germany and Japan you order a car to your spec.
The intro line 😂😂😂
I wonder if homie worked in Upper Saddle River...
Kept saying he was busy etc etc no salesman is busy all day especially at designer dealers like that lol
