I would like to say that if you are having a problem with your TV, be sure to check the model number first. You will see the model number and serial number over in a box like this. The model number and serial number are very important, because that is what will help you to identify what parts are needed to repair your TV.
So the first thing you are going to want to do is make sure that you have unplugged your TV from any power source and that you have also grounded yourself properly. Next, you will want to take out the screws in the TV that are holding the back cover on it. The main board, which is located over here, typically manages your accessory inputs and outputs and houses the TV tuner. So this controls, this is what sends the signal from your HDMI ports, your RCA connectors, your VGA input all your different inputs go through here and then are connected elsewhere on the board to get the picture on the screen. If the entire set restarts on its own without you doing anything, it could be your main board that is causing that.
If you are having issues with the video on the screen, it could be a connection here or the main board that is not allowing you to have the full resolution or clear image. Again, if any of these inputs don't seem to be working with your TV it could be a bad connection here.
The first thing I would recommend you do is take your source video, so lets say you have a blu-ray player connected to this HDMI port, take that blu-ray player and connect it to a different TV and make sure that the blu-ray player is working fine. If you then find out that it is working fine, and you connect it back to this TV, then you will know that the main board has a problem or this connection has a problem because the blu-ray player works fine.

@Jeremy Easley - This could be the main board or also be the panel that is causing this problem, the panel is very expensive and often difficult to replace so I would recommend replacing the main board in your TV, to see if that helps. Hello, I have an LG 60" plasma manufactured in 2013. Model: 60PN5300-UF. The TV shuts off on its own after about 10 minutes and usually powers itself back on by itself after 30 minutes or sometimes an hour. I went on different forums to see about this being a common issue, and sure enough it is. The many fixes I heard was that it was related to a heating issue and that people installing fans generally solved the problem. It seemed silly, especially this TV going almost 10 years without any over heating issues, so I decided I'd give it a shot. I ordered 2 fans and installed them near the bottom vents of the rear TV cover and ran the USB power cord to the TV itself. Well after 8 minutes, the TV did the usual, shut off, would not respond to remote commands or on-board buttons. The only sign of power was a red solid light in front and the 2 fans still powered up via the side USB plug. I also read that this may be a main board issue, if it is likely a main board issue, any recommendations on getting these fixed? I really don't want to drop too much in this as LED TVs are pretty inexpensive as a replacement. Let me know what you think..
@michael Little - It appears as though the DVD player is in progressive mode for a 5 wire component connection on the DVD player/TV. That can be changed on the DVD player. My tv autumatically turns off after 2 ton3 sec LG plasma 60" PC1D-UE
Hi. I have an old plasma 60 inch tv with brand of Atner which I bought at Vegas CES show I believe is a copycat of LG. When turned on. it starts with flickering "no signal" sign in middle of sceen. It can be solved by hair dryer blowing into the middle circuit board then by a light click sound and the "no signal" sceen become solid and swtich itself into input singal and everything will be fine. I checked the board. didn't see any bulge capacitors there. So could you please figure out which part is most likely have the problem and how to fix it? You help in this respect will be much appreciated.
The same problema but with an 19 inch lcd Toshiba model LE19s304A , it displays the menus, channel, and inputs correctly but shows no video and no audio, i have suspect of the mainboard, what do u think THANKS
I have a Samsung Plasma model PN50A510P3F that I purchased early 2009 and worked fine until the past 6 months or so. Upon turning it on it has distorted pictures and sound and more often that not a highpitched screetching. It turns itself on and off until it stops (I have no control of making it stop) sometimes taking as long as 45 minutes to stop. Thank you for your assistance!

I have the PANASONIC TH37PX80E and in all SCART (AV1,AV2,AV3) i have no video signal I see all option of the TV in the screen and I have noise sound from the scart cable. I have found if both the ribbons on the ss board and sc board are removed the power will stay on and not shut down into the low circuit shut down mode. I have a Plasma Samsung TV PN50A510P3F, when i turn it on everything it works good but after couples minutes starting show red-pink sparkles slowly until the covers the screen and the goes dark. Hi. I have a panasonic plasma. Model number th-50pz85u. The TV gets power it seems. I hear an initial click. The red led though just stays red...no blinking. The remote will not turn off the TV and nothing shows on the screen when I use "menu" or any other functions. Ideas?

Hello, Samsung plasma PN60F5300AFXZA sound but no picture. As soon as the power cord is plugged in, the standby light flashes 3 times, then slowly 9 times, then 4 times, then stays off. I can hear sound from a dvd player but the screen is pitch black. Pushing the power button does nothing, but the volume still works. The tv stays on unless the cord is unplugged. The green led on the main board flashes once about every 4 seconds. Upon testing the power supply and main board, I get the low voltage pins to test ok but I'm not getting any high voltage at the sustain boards. I've already tried a different power supply but I get the same issue. Not sure if I should start throwing more boards at it or if there's more testing that can single out the issue. Also, I've tried disconnecting everything from the main board and power supply but no changes. Since the power button doesn't seem to work, should I start with a main board? Also, I didn't noticed any burned spots or bad caps.
Hi.. i have a tcl model # 75S421. When i plug it in it goes to like a dark blue image no picture at all but not neccesarily black screen. I do have sound. Hello there, my name is David and I have a problem with my Samsung plasma TV model PN51E530A3FXZC. When I turn it on in the morning it comes on then will turn off a few minutes later. It may come on again within a few minutes or so or I have to unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in and it may come on. I will have to do this a few more times but I noticed that when it warms up it seems to work fine. Once it stays on for a while it works ok but I have to leave it on all day or repeat the process all over again. Any ideas?

I disconnected the cord that runs from the main board to the power board and the tv comes on and the other parts or working fine but I get no video or audio. yes I have a problem, and no idea how to fix. I have a Magnavox 50MF231D/37 Plasma TV, I replaced two bad capacitors. The TV turns on but will not power on the screen or sound. I am having problem with my Pioneer Pro151FD plasma tv. The problem is that I am unable to change my input and it is stuck on input 4 which is the HDMI input. I have a normal audio and video. I can change the volume and can get into the menu but whatever that is related some how to setting or changing the inputs on the tv won't operate. I even can not use the numerical buttons on the remote control to change the channel. I also tried the scroll through the inputs via the hard buttons on the side of the tv, but no luck. When I press those buttons nothing happens and tv displays a banner message saying "starting up please wait" and after a while the message disappears. I tried to unplug and plug the power back but didn't help. I am thinking maybe there is a problem with the main board. Is main board the one that controls the switching the input commands?
Any help or suggestion would be highly appreciated.

LG 50PK950-UA, I have sound but no picture on all inputs. According to the Va and Vs voltages on the PS I'm getting the correct power, have replaced the Y-sus and buffer boards as well as the logic CTRL board with the same outcome.
LG 42PA4500. I have no cable, no dvd player hooked up. Was watching tv and picture went black. Sound is fine. Just no picture. It's been sitting in my living room for a couple months because I don't want to throw away something that can obviously be repaired, but I don't know how to do it. I bought it about 4 years ago. I took the back off and dusted things off, and everything looks pretty good. I don't see any obvious defects. No blown out or swollen capacitors. Nothing obvious. I am not a tv repair person. I know a little about alot of things, but I don't have alot of fancy tools and I can't afford any fancy tools. I wonder if there might be an easy way for me to diagnose and repair this tv? Hello I have a 2013 Samsung PN64F8500 plasma TV that has no video but does have audio. I have tried the various HDMI inputs and verified the issue is not caused from other components within the system. Issue started a few months ago and got progressively worse until last week when I no longer get the panel to power up.I power on the set and it just goes through boot process with no power to the display. The problem sounds very similar to other plasma TV's but have not seen the fix for this relatively new model. Samsung support is worthless and TV is out of warranty. I have removed the back cover and performed a visual inspection looking for blown fuses and bulging capacitors. Did not notice anything wrong with visual. Hoping you can provide your expert opinion on the matter. Thank you in advance.
FOR MOST OF U I'M GUESSING REPLACING THE T-CON BOARD (THE SMALLEST BOARD) WILL FIX THE PROBLEM, WHEN I START MINE A LITTLE DISTORTED COLOR FLASHES FOR A SPLIT SECOND. I REPLACED THE T-CON, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. I'M NOT REPLACING ANYMORE BOARDS UNTIL I KNOW THE PROBLEM.

i have a lg ph6700 plasma no lights just one click when i plug it in. if i disconect the main board from power supply my screen will light up, but i still have no power indicator (red light) on the front no power up sound. i had a power surge does this sound like a main board or power board issue

I have a Pioneer Plasma TV model PDP-504PU. When I power it on, within 3 seconds I hear a snap sound from the back and it goes completely black. This is usually before a picture has been displayed although sometimes part of a picture can momentarily be seen.
How do I fix this?

LG Plasma 60Pz550.Started with a green horizontal line on top half of screen.Now when turned on screen backlight flickers and then stays on with a 1" long blue line in top left corner with no picture .I was able to pull up the volume on screen dail in the opposite bottom right corner but will get a ghost image of it on top half and the lower 4inches of screen.Stays on for a few minutes and then shuts off.

My Samsung HP55053X/XAA starts and works fine cold. Then after a half-hour or so, the video drops as sound continues. The video may return for a bit, then drop again. Ultimately I have to power down and wait. Is heat impacting the video? Logic board? Symptoms consistent but diagnostic help on this flakey problem please! Thanks. Bob

Hello, I just got a Westinghouse LTV 32w3 HD from a friend. He broke the antenna connector (coax) off of the back. I tried to connect a DVD player up to it through the RCA jacks but it shows no signal message. If I put the TV input to air it shows snow. Could this be the main board? I tested the dvd player on another tv and it works fine. Thanks
LG 60PB4DT. One HDMI dropped out after a lightning storm. The other worked intermittently until recently and now it does not. All other inputs are functioning. Hello, I've got a Sony KDL-52S5100. I just bought a used Wii and found that the image through the composite cables is black and white, distorted a bit, and quite dim. I got component cables and found the same result on both component inputs into the TV (yes, I did select the HD output in the Wii settings). I hooked it up to another Sony I have and the image works perfectly, but this is not my living room TV and is way, way smaller. My HDMI image works well, which leads me to believe the issue is in the main board section of the TV. Hoping a simple main board replacement is the likely fix here, but wasn't sure if there was another component I wasn't considering. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

I have a non working TV Samsung PN43D440A5D. The first time I plug it in, I can hear clicking sound at the back then it stop. Red light at the lefthand corner is on. Remote control will not function. I am thinking of replacing the power supply board. Any help will greatly appreciated.

hp pl5072N 50" plasma - came home found tv on - don't remember turning it on, no lighting or power surges that I can tell. Next morning tv says starts testing then : "no problem found. please power of the tv and check the video source and connections". No buttons work, no remote. unplug, replug, no difference. hold power button on, plug in while holding power for 30 sec, unplug, replug same. Took back cover off thinking I will find a rest button, but did not get that lucky.
I have a Samsung 50" Plasma (model #PN50A510P3F) The TV powers on and both my cable box and xbox 360 through HDMI connections display green, magenta, or blue, while clicking on and off until the picture corrects. This took a few minutes at first, but now takes a lot of time. Sometimes if I just turn off the APC surge protector and battery back up off and reset everything I can get the picture to correct. Everything I have read suggest it is the power supply board and the caps should be bulging. I don't see anything like this. I am torn between whether this is the power supply board or the main board. Any advice would be appreciated!

DELL W5001C HD. Problem: Mmotorboat noise in speakers and no normal audio. Mute or volume down the whole way will stop noise, but anything off mute is the same noise no mater what volume is set at. I assume it is one or more of the capacitors on the sound board or maybe the power board lead that feeds the sound board has a issue. However the TV still worked fine as a monitor for the computer. and I used speakers off of the computer instead of the TV sound system to do that, so I am sure the rest of it is fine. History: I replaced two of the capacitors on the power board about two years before due to slow and then not coming on at all problem. Other RUclips video and leaking caps was the helpful answer then.

I have a Samsung Plasma PN43D450A2D with sound but no picture and a relay on the power board clicks several times when trying to power on and off. No capacitors are bulging on any board. When I unplug the power cable from the power board to the y board and turn on the tv, I get the welcome chime, so I replaced the y board but that didn't work.
