    So nice to see a professionally-produced video with a well-spoken presenter. So many of the amateur videos of car reviews on RUclips are tiresome and need, well, heavy editing. (lol) Thank you, Tom.

    Wow! That interior is downright upscale! A visit to our local auto show this past weekend determined the Rogue and Rogue Sport had the most comfortable front seats among, not only their respective segment competitors, but many luxury vehicles. The front seats in most other vehicles were hard and flat. Great job Nissan!

    excellent review. especially with the driving assist features that to some people, features that will make people less involved in driving but lets face it, it has happened to most of us with our phone, food, dropping stuff and other distractions. they are good features for our own safety during our distracted period and others when they did it too.

    I just purchased a 2022 Mustang Mach-e and it appears to me that my 2018 Nissan Rogue's ProPilot assist is better than Ford's Blue Cruise. It centers the lane better. Btw, I believe my Rogue once saved me from hitting the front car by braking harder than me. Love this car though the mileage is no where near the EPA rating reported.

  • @curiously1510

    Mercedes GLC has similar (optional) propilot like technology, and I find it very useful in stop and go traffic. At very low speed, in creeping traffic it is nearly self driving. At high speeds on the highway it does tend to "ping pong" a bit within the lane, which is annoying. Sounds like Nissan might have solved that issue.

    Hey Tom. Great Review. I really like the Rogue despite the fact I see them all day everyday here in the DC metro area. However, Nissan needs to offer a fast engine option for this vehicle. Not everyone like the Murano or even needs the Pathfinder. Just saying.

    Driving in traffic is no place for 'boy racers' to pretend they are at the Motor Speedway. I LIKE the new safety technology and cannot wait for driverless cars. They will allow older people independence in travel AND safety for themselves and for others on the roads around them. Fewer accidents mean fewer insurance claims and, hopefully, lower premiums (if state insurance departments do their job.) When better developed, this technology should more than pay its way.

      Yes get a cab but elder / teens /drunk won't listen to you.
      I like the feature as long as I can override it. Maybe program it the way elder/teens/driver with bad record can't override.
      I like driving on the mountain road or open freeway but not stop and go traffic. Driverless would help me ease up on stress.
      I would be mad when they take away the steering someday...

    • @jamesellsworth9673
      @jamesellsworth9673 6 лет назад +4

      That is what I was thinking, too. I have had my days with a Porsche and mountain roads and enjoyed them. I still enjoy driving. I know many people who have had to give up driving due to age: cabs don't work for them because they have to wait a good while for one to come to pick them up and then to come to take them back. Senior transport services use vans that have steep stairs. Not everyone needs a chair lift. They run routes, so waiting in whatever weather is still an issue. Being able to keep a vehicle and to have it safely and conveniently take you to where you want to go and back gets to be pretty important. Paired with GPS, even long-distance touring becomes an option again!

    • @backyardstrummer3856
      @backyardstrummer3856 6 лет назад

      James, the difference between humans and computers is vast. Driverless cars will always suffer from the fact that they can and will be hacked en masse, should we ever be so foolish as to allow them on the road. That could literally lead to the end of the world. Sounds hyperbolic but it is a undeniable hypothetical that can't happen if we keep humans as the drivers. All cars with some level of autonomy should also have the ability to have their autonomous features completely disabled and the vehicle still be able to be driven in a completely manual mode, without any safety features being given control over the human driver.

      I love the CVT! I'm the One! 2016 Altima; 2018 Rogue owner here. I get the biggest kick out of accelerating with no noticeable shifts. Very impressive mileage and don't forget that a CVT really shines in a highway passing situation. Fifty to sixty; sixty to seventy, eg. is where she really puts out, heh.

    The Rogue larger in size in the 'compact' SUV segment. Not crazy about these automated driving assistant technologies.

    • @DrivenCarReviews
      @DrivenCarReviews  6 лет назад

      It's classified in the segment often referred to as "compact crossovers", something like a Ford Edge being a midsize and the CX-3 and Kona classified as "small". To get technical about it, the EPA classifies Rogue as a "small station wagon". True. Look it up.

    My Wife has one of these as a rental right now with all the options I don't know why anybody would buy this. It lacks power the CVT transmission is very noisy and it's not a pleasant noise. The safety features to me seem overrated and frankly I would probably turn them all off. She has also had two Ford Escape rentals with pretty much all the options and we both feel that was a much better SUV.

    I'm sorry, the wipers make some safety features turn off? What???

    • @DrivenCarReviews
      @DrivenCarReviews  6 лет назад +8

      It's actually a very smart decision. In heavy rain (or low visibility situations), chances are it can't read the stripes well so it simply says "nope, not going to lull you into a false sense of security". .

    • @wilmotown
      @wilmotown 6 лет назад

      Driven Car Reviews Ah, well, I can see the logic there. It just seemed like a very backward effect for such a cause. Is this common practice among automakers?

    • @niuhuskieguy
      @niuhuskieguy 6 лет назад

      Although I see the logic, I think it would be better to allow it to work as long as it can adaqutely see the lane lines. I have a Subaru with Eyesight and the system remains on as long as the cameras can see (it uses only cameras for all functions) and it has only turned off for inclement weather maybe 2 times.

    • @wilmotown
      @wilmotown 6 лет назад

      niuhuskieguy I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited, with Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise, not to mention Autonomous Emergency Braking. It’s shut off on me before in certain situations, citing an AEBraking failure- I wonder if it coincided with the wipers, as I thought it was just bad weather and didn’t think about that possibility. I’ll have to test it out.

      ... or a smart human acting dumb I like to think in my case.
      And funny you should mention the Volvo because I priced it out the other day. Comparably equipped it would be about 4K more than the Nissan. If the 40's semi autonomous system is the same as other Volvos I've used, the Nissan's ability to stay within the lane, take curves and adapt to traffic ahead is noticeably better. Seriously. I'll be driving the XC40 soon, I'm sure it's quicker than the Rogue.

      Dustin Hart he clearly wasn’t “downing” his statement about not wanting the “safety crap”. He was implying that modern safety systems has helped mitigate car crashes...aka the use of airbags

      Nick B First, I don’t like the way he put it. Second, modern safety systems are distractions. They will make more people rely on them and kill more people. Even our loved ones. So y’all can defend him and the systems but just wait. They are a system, they don’t have a brain. They will fail one day and that’s the day you’ll need it the most.

      Michael Chien Honestly I’ve had a brand spanking new car that has ABS and ESC. It didn’t do anything for me. I had close calls then. I have a vehicle now with no ESC and no ABS and I do fine. I have had close calls. Having bare bones makes you a better driver so you aren’t depending on stupid computer systems. That’s how I see it.

    As another commenter said, it's the car version of training wheels. No thanks! Waste of money in my opinion. Also, what a joy will it be when the car goes out of warranty and all this crap starts to break down. Just another way to fleece people out of their money.

      One of the nicest looking vehicles out there. Modern without being over the top. Functional AND fashionable.

      I agree all these safety features are making drivers worse. If you can't control a vehicle you don't belong on the road.

      Yeah totally, I mean there are no other cars out there that have a 0-60 at 9 seconds or 10 seconds.... could you imagine???!?! Every car on the road not being a sports car doing 0-60 in under 5 seconds... that would be crazy.

      It's not a sports coupe LOL its a family wagon. Also almost every SUV this size gets a about 16 seconds on the 1/4 mile regardless of their 0-60 time

    Next thing you know, they'll be putting toilets and showers in cars so you can take a dump and then shower while your car drives down the road.

      Keith Ginyard lol. Would be nice put a bathroom in a car wouldn't have to worry stopping at gas station using a nasty public bathroom least if that ever happens can use it in your own car don't let manufacturers hear you say that they thinking of that idea as well at least you brought up a good idea.

    poor quality poor reliability, short warranty, uncomfortable seats, worst thing is vibrations from transmission

      What world are you in? One of the longest average warranties, transmission vibrations are minimal if it all, one of the top reliability ratings...
