I suppose the wifi connecting can be confusing at first, but once you get it, you just follow the prompts

I was dreading setting up this printer. I haven't had to setup a printer up since 2005, also I had read this printer was especially a pain in the butt to set up: but I followed your directions step by step and was up and printing wirelessly in less than 10 minutes. One thing I would like to add is, I found it easiest to put the ink cartridges in first, and then set up the printer. Also have the Canon Print Ap downloaded and ready to go before starting setup.

Dude... I just spent the last 3 years thinking this printer wouldn't work with my eero mesh wifi system because Canon's instructions are absolute garbage. Thank you, good sir. You just saved me another 60 bucks haha.

I spent 2 hours on the phone with my brother and we finally got it figured out. The problem was that our son had hooked up a "Booster" system so the WiFi would reach all corners of our house and it required another internet WiFi connection. We disconnected that and went back to our original WiFi connection and we were successful in hooking up our printer then
Help..... I have my wifi on....... I press the stop button and wifi.... But the power button doesn't blank at all..... I'm stuck???

I downloaded the app you recommended, but it doesn't give me any way to select my printer. The app can't find or recognize my MG3620 printer and if i type it into the search box, it says that printer can't be found. In your video, you have pages that come up that my app never shows me. I'm completely stumped!

@@1218ac Actually Mandy, we've had this printer for at least 6 years and it's a decent printer. However, we made some network changes so we have to reconnect the printer to the new network and I can't figure out how to do that when my printer isn't a choice on the app! And so far, I haven't found any answers thru RUclips or commonly asked questions or troubleshooting. And it makes it much more aggravating when you can't call anyone directly
@@MsKimby Last night I actually figured it out. I got my printer connected to my network and I finally got it to print!! Switching the network I’m not sure how to do that. I will look around on the printer app and see if I can maybe figure something out for you. I know how frustrating messing with printers can be! 😅
@Kim Bruns I connected to mine after doing the steps in this video, then I went to my iPhone Wi-Fi settings connected to the printer after putting it into the Wi-Fi mode like the video says. I think you need to redo all of that if you switched networks??

Thank you it works I got a new T-Mobile 5G router. I deleted the app because it recognized the old setup and changed to 2.4 setting just in case. Now will do other devices and switchback to 5G.
If the power button does not flash, it may be because the toner cartridges need to be installed.

Our printer was used in a business and then moved to our home. We also had our router changed during this time. The only way we could get this to connect to our router was to delete the printer and redo the process because there isn't a way we could find that simply allowed us to connect to a network with a password. Hope this helps.

Anyone trying to set this up. Dont forget to remove the protective materials behind and front of the printer to get rid of any alarm. Then you need to load the color and black ink cartridge. Then follow this video.😊

You forgot to say you need to disconnect from the printer on your phone and connect to the network you want it to use, otherwise my setup wouldn't complete
Every time I do this process, the alarm lamp appears. It only appears when it is almost done being connected. I’ve tried everything from downloading on my phone to downloading on my computer and it will not connect!

There has to be a bug in either the app or the printer itself because after following your directions to a tee, it freezes at the printer registration screen, the yellow warning light comes on, and the connection failed warning comes on my phone. I've connected more than a half dozen devices to my Wi-Fi and I've never once had a problem. I've read this problem occurring for 12 years amongst hundreds of purchases and we can't all be wrong. Canon obviously is a rotten company that doesn't fix their problems, or can't read.

My Canon printer is printing the page in sections. The printing is completely offline. How can I fix it?
The power light isn’t blinking after holding down the wifi button. Can I reset it somehow to start from scratch. I can’t even get past step 2 🥺

The cannon setting has Wi-Fi in my setting app until I choose it, then it says no internet connection. Can someone explain why this is happening?

it says that to me too but it connected just fine!!
It says that because the printer is just giving a wifi signal. That signal is only connected to the printer and not to internet

I have this exact same issue, my phone says the “cannon_ij” network has to internet connection and then the app fails to see the printer. Very frustrating.

Just press and hold Wifi on printer. power would blink. then press the black print button and then wifi afterward once. then press wps on router and hold. it'll connect within few seconds. you should see the wifi on printer stay blue on not blink. your welcome! No need to do all these xtra stuffs!
I'LL TRY A BIT LONGER. If no luck getting it hooked up, back it goes. Canon instructions are absurd..Absurd!
