Awesome work you do, thanks for sharing vids. Apologies for my noob questions: do u think the jimmy skiff can be modified, during build, to a self bailing cockpit? (I want a more novice friendly, more bouyant sailboat of these proportions, same chines, sailplan, hull amenable to rowing or electric motor... an easy singlehander basically with more safety .). Is this a dumb idea? Tx
It really WOULD be pretty easy to make the Jimmy Skiff's cockpit self-bailing. More so than any other boat in our fleet. The cockpit is perfectly rectangular, so adding a cockpit sole high enough to self-bail would be really straightforward.
my dad ,a waterman who worked the Chesapeake bay, built me a 14 ft skiff like that when I was 11 five horse sea king outboard man I was in heaven!
I'm just in the planning/dreaming stage of boat building.
This is one of the boat plans I'm looking at.
Watching this video is helpful.
I usually don't care for "construction" videos without narrative or comment but have to admit that I did enjoy watching this one!
That's impressively fast. looks like a nice kit.
Wow, that was impressive.
I know it was a week's work but it seemed like a mere 17 minutes!

Come Friday afternoon, are they going to have enough clamps? Yes, all the clamps
Great looking skiff- How hard to stretch bit to around 16'?
That boat exists, at least in motor-powered form: www.clcboats.com/shop/boats/powerboats/peeler-outboard-power-skiff.html
That looks like it might be a good jumping off point for the keel boat I emailed about.
Soory, why is there no keel in that model? Does not it effect the balance of boat?
It has a dagger board, off center.
Ship shape and Bristol fashion
Wednesday afternoon is the craziest pulling all the cable ties and sanding. Bet their arms were sore.
Quietest bunch of blokes I’ve ever seen 😂
