- Nick has been writing prompts for AI images on Midjourney v4. Griffin’s been playing with DiffusionBee on Mac. Our faces may render horrifically in AI, but for many other use cases, the results are uncanny, with plenty of rapidly arriving ethical and copyright implications for artists.

The complaints I have seen about copyright infringement concerns training the model, the perhaps dodgy use of the source images. There might be something somewhere. but if you want to claim a copyright breach in court, I suggest you find a clear link from one to the other. Coincidentally, Kookaburra in an Old Gum Tree was involved in a copyright clam.. The copyright holder claimed that Colin Hayes had appropriate partd of it in a song by Men at Work.
And, Men at Work was used as an offensive weapon by Alan Bond during that miraculous America's Cup stoush, the challengers played one of its songs at High Volume throughout the challenge. I'm not sure, might have been the same song.
I don't see how asking a bot to create a photograph in the style of Heide Smith is significantly different from my doing it. Except it would be quicker and better. If not today, then soon.
I see a threat to creators of imagery. The standard of those otters would be fine for a story such as Animal Farm. IF a bot cant take a handful of camera shots from Griffin's kids and turn them into a worthy album, the day's not far off. Similar for a lot of commercial photography. I think I would want to run the image making on my computers, with the same database and same version of the software, so I would get consistent results over the years. The differences between the two set os flying otters was just too much to bear.
Justin Brown Primal Video makes a lot of instructional videos, mostly about making videos. He regularly uses stock footage that, I think, doesn't fit well. These bots will fix that, and the bods running the stock vide site are absolutely stuffed.
There is an actual deepfake project. I expect that at some point in the near future it will be possible to make a few video clips of D J Trump confessing to his sins, with a few more "Of course she enjoyed it" moments.
Ethics will go out the window when Russia wants to attack Ukraine, China decides to resolve the Taiwan situation, POTUS decide the border with Mexico needs to be resolved.
A few years ago, Z hired Australian cricketter, retired, to coach its national cricket team. when his term was done, there were some political difficulties (not uncommon there), and some team members chose to wear black armbands during their following tour of England and Wales.
Wearing black arm bands, even for the national heros in the cricket team, is a very brave thing to do, and the following changes to the lineup inevitable.
Botswana is a good democratic country, much better than USA. Elections decide who governs, nobody complains about vote counting.

I thought 'art' was also about the story and intention behind it rather than just the visuals of it, which is why 'artists' like Damien Hurst can get away with painting a few dots and calling it 'art'.
I'd also argue that an AI learning from a particular artist and then doing an 'art' in the style of them is no different from someone being inspired by an artist, and then doing an 'art' based on it.
2:20 If you are working under my direction, then I understand the copyright belongs to me. I have seen video of Albert Watson traipsing around the country with quite the entourage. There is no question, though, Albert's in charge and making all the relevant decisions.
