Casinos accusing anyone of cheating is hilarious and the height of hypocrisy. Card counting or edge sorting is NOT cheating at all in any way, shape, or form. Casinos steal BILLIONS from MILLIONS of people and cry when someone beats them. It's sick.
Never mind that. Pay for cards that don't have glaring security failures like this.
Haha for sure. Surprised the casino even used those cards

Moral of the story. Dont gamble
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽😂😂😂 RIGHT ABOUT THAT
There's nothing ironic about it. Casinos offer you very long odds to make money. You're free to stay home if you like, but if you hit upon a miracle they WILL pay you. Real casinos keep it as honest as humanly possible in order to let you feel "safe" betting your mortgage payment on a million to one chance. Perfectly honest, just a really, really terrible idea. As high-limit gaming manager at The Venetian in Las Vegas for 11 years, I dealt with Phil Ivey many times. Very cool guy. He would lose $1mil in less than an hour on a crap table. As far as this case; the second I heard about it I said basically everything the game protection guy in this video said. These two casinos either got greedy or had very weak table games managers because they never should have agreed to Phil's requests. Since they did; the only thing they could do after that was label him an "Advantage Player" and not let him play again. @Charlie It was a form of cheating, in my opinion. They didnt figure it out until he left, and of course they are going to settle it in court. I agree that in MY book, ivey didn't cheat but played smart. But in CASINO rules, it's cheating. Before playing a casino, you indirectly agree that it's a gambling game and they have an edge on you. For example if you go to vegas, counting cards at blackjack is illegal and casinos can sue you and take you to jails for that. Even if you're smart, it's still cheating to THEM.
It's not illegal to count cards. It does give the player the advantage so when a casino sees it, they tell the player they won't take their bets any more. But the player can not be arrested for it and a casino can't sue a player for doing it. All they can do is refuse your business.
SonTerrific Trust me it is illegal in most casinos, they won't arrest you because they can't but they'll kick you out and won't pay you.
They can't arrest you because it isn't illegal. Just saying that your original comment was wrong in saying it's illegal and someone can be arrested for doing it. You just said they can't be arrested. Illegal means there's a crime commited, which counting cards is definitely not a crime.

Sorry, they agreed to ALL his requests. Therefore they gave him their money, thinking they could take his money.
Fair game.
And maybe the casinos should invest in better cut cards.
Casinos do this to ANY successful player. Also, what a horrible crappy job 60 minutes did...they did not even talk about how the casinos do this very often to successful players.
they have a black book of players that beat them card counting ,thats not cheating its using youre brain .and facial recognition software that they put on a database, no problem ruining people who arent succesful but thet defame anyone who wins to much . completely right you are
@saintquinn007 they never will because they don'thave to, they know you have an edge and they don't want anyone with even a 1% chance over the house to be on their property.
Eventually you're stuck at private games or in his case putting light on casinos because they basically so they can't say no or lose "huuuge" lol business.
Welcome to impartiality. I think almost ANYONE will side with Ivey - but 60 Minutes leave it to the viewer to decide if they agree or not. This isn't a bug, it's THE feature of news.
Its called 60 minutes for a reason... this is only 15 minutes
This guy looks like he never sleeps but at the same time he also looks like he doesn’t need sleep either
He looks focus as shit lmaooo
He don’t blink for shit.!
His real name is Phil "Cullen" Ivey.
He doesn't sleep....& He has that icy look in his eyes....
I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I knew I had to beat the casino and the court to get my money especially as I put up a million in stake even before I walked into the casino. It should never have gone to court in the first place They should pay him and then bar him. But not to pay don’t look good for the casino. So if someone lost millions of pounds then won it all back then what would they get paid or not. Casinos only like losers not winners. Better not to gamble. Also how many lives have the casino ruined over the years. Millions I bet.
The fact that Phil Ivey not only lost this case but also is forced to pay the Borgata $10.1M is absurd!
Ridiculous
Really epic journalism. They went deep and told all sides to this story. Epic!
Phil Ivey = Tiger Woods of poker.

I call him THE KILLA ... you ever see his eyes when he's playing ? He looks stone cold... like a murderer.. but I think he's the Best
Why? Because they both have brown skin?
Lol 🤣
@Will Rich I haven't had TV for a while and that is one of the shows I miss..I enjoyed watching him and I feel sorry for anybody that has to look in his eyes when he knows he's going to steamroll right over whatever hand they have sooner or later ... I would love to be sitting there in person watching him up close... I can only imagine what the vibe is that comes off at him when he knows he's going to beat you at your game... gives me chills haha but good chills like watching a spooky movie when you know what's going to happen next.
I really wish they would put him in a movie where he's the bad guy cuz he could play that very easily
How many women did Ivy have between hands?
The casino's legal way of playing against them is to have zero advantage against them. Basically anyone who can beat them is cheating, they're not supposed to be beat.
Card counting is not illegal. You will get kicked out of the casino but it is not illegal.
kicked out for what?
you cant just kick ppl out,, you need a good reason,,
How is card counting cheating? You don't use a device. You don't mark cards. You don't pay of the dealer. You just use your mind in your advantage. That's not cheating. That's being clever.
Casinos can refuse to take bets for any reason. just like bartenders can refuse to serve.
He lost the court case. This ladies and gents is why you don't gamble. They cheat you and keep it all. You take a very small advantage and win, they still take it all.
The thing that got I've was the middle man being the Asians if it had just been Phil looking at the cards no harm no foul but when he requested an Asian dealer and had his Asian companion now u have an inside man and a sidekick communicating on your behalf too much evidence even if they did grant it to him he took the bait!!
Reference please..
@Dave Farley :Saying it over & over again might make you not feel inadequate, but sorry to bust your bubble it's not a BELIEF but a proven FACT & you can eat your heart out , IT'S A BLACK THING, hey & what have you been smoking? Even our women say so!! That alone disqualified your comment.
@Dave Farley quit living in denied dude that was the dumbest shit u could say we dominate the sports world and every white women breathing want sum BBC in there life every the racist ones get use to it🍆
even the racist ones
So let me get this right ... If Phil Ivey had lost all of his money the casino's would have given Phil all his money back cos he was'nt smart enough to beat them
Hahaha no doubt!
The casinos gladly take your money
But when have to payout
They throw a big tantrum!
There should be a risk of doubling the money if the casino starts suing the winner so they don't retardedly start wasting everyone's time after someone wins fair and square.
I totally agree , and the fact that the whole world now knows that they are looking for Phil to pay back money they lost to these " marked " cards ... will this casino also name the people that they owe to because of these damaged cards ??
These 2 casino's that are suing Phil are basically saying to Phil and more importantly to all the big gamblers that come their doors .... " You are NOT a cheat if you lose all your money here but you ARE a cheat if you win " . Be careful where you go with you money !!!!
Casino’s need to stop crying about Phil. They take millions from people every day.
Phil is so ultra focused even during an interview. He misses nothing! That’s why he so good at poker. His mind works like no other. He’s just an incredibly talented person. He’s a savant of card playing and poker.
That casino should sued their card manufacturer for giving them imperfect cards instead of Ivey.
And they must be ready to lose anytime because they are gambling which anyone can win or lose.
And if counting of cards and spotting imperfect cards is not illegal of by laws then Ivey should countersuit the casino for accusing him of cheating.
obviously it's not Phils fault. He beat the casino at their own game. They need to learn and deal with it. the casinos reaction makes players feel like not playing again.
+Bill Tsompanidis not playing again is what the casino wants, as a advantage player that is, on the contrary we need to become more advantageous players against the casino systems, that would really burn their bullshit and make them think deep into what they need to do to beat the players at their games...
+Jay Silva Why would any high stakes gamblers gamble at those casinos knowing they could be sued afterwards? By trying to label Phil a cheater they ruined their own reputation in the process.
+vivelajonny yo,, my man Phil Ivey.. Always got that poker face stare.. I did NOTHING wrong!! hahaha
+vivelajonny hey watch this and you realize how wrong you are, ruclips.net/video/mm8_aeWBtCc/видео.html
+Jamie Simmons It's cheating if you secretly give yourself an advantage. It's not cheating if he tells the casino he would like to play with a certain shuffling machine, and they agreed. If you agree to rules without thinking them through (and I'm sure they are experts on cheating/preventing being cheated), then obviously they thought they could win and are likely angry that Phil still won.
Does this guy even blink? Lol! Legend
He always has his poker face..those talking to him are being read just in case they dare play him..
Lmao ! Classic response
He cracked twice and even laughed because he couldn't stop thinking about how the casinos fucked up.
He does seem kinda bug-eyed

What’s more shocking is how his eyeballs didn’t fall out
Ivey never blinks lol

*_They will shut down your table even for a small amount of money! I was playing Black Jack in Vegas, starting with $20, and then a few hours I'm up $1,400, and that when a casino worker came to the table and shut it down? It was a full table! But I knew they were watching on the cameras._* *It pissed them off when you're making all the right calls all the time. Stop, HIt Me, Double Up, etc... and just keep winning and winning.* _In other games the house can barely beat me if I play long enough but in Black Jack, I can take the house for everything they have if I wanted to. I don't understand why more people don't understand how easy it is to beat the Black Jack Table._
When you find a weakness in any system, never reveal it to no one period because people cannot hold water.
Lamorris Gray Agreed. But that’s not the case here. He didn’t reveal a new unknown advantage or “weakness” the casinos are well aware of these tactics players use and I’m sure Phil’s reputation was no secret as to his ability’s. The casino wanted a celebrity playing on its floor. Risk vs reward. They risked getting took by one of if not the best in the game for the publicity and ability to say Phil Ivey plays at our casinos. They got smoked. Sorry but I don’t nor does he get the pleasure to say no wait i didn’t know the house has the advantage always so I want all my losses back now. Fuck em
Racism has no effect on poker, we only see one color, green.

On the table yes, but when you get up its back to life and reality. Mess with the whitemans money and its lawsuit. He's lucky that the mob didnt put him to death!
I don't completely agree. Race plays no part in your ability to win or lose. I have always been one of the best if not the best at majority white casinos. I was loved by a few who judged me on the content of my character and hated by many others for I'll advised reasons. I do however have a clue why I am hated.
@@alyjulmiste1880 Not trying to take away anything from your point, but just the way you implied that anyone who sees you by your character loves you, already made me dislike you.
If the casino thought he was asking for those specific cards out of superstition then they deserve to lose their money.
they just agreed knowing they can sue if they happen to lose
@@mrcool76789 no, they agreed because they knew Phil would have to sue, in order to get was rightfully his, AND they had the courts bribed
When he asked him about race and he immediately looked at him and said " No" I automatically know this person is a good man.
The Casinos hire cheaters to identify other cheaters. So who's the real scumbags?
Answer: The Casino
I'm glad this randomly popped up on my feed cause this was really interesting! The fact that people can tell what cards based off the edge pattern is insane to me.
He beat them at their own game. Awesome! Give the man his money.
no. the game involves not knowing what all the cards are and gambling.
True, but the court was wrong. I hope he appealed.
yup. fire whoever approved the requests made by ivey. and pay him! or i'll never gamble there
Matthew Wyman
That’s right fire the morons. When Ivy wired the casino 3 million they thought he was going lose!!!! The casino had their agreement so did ivy. They are not as smart as ivy. The casinos are their to take your money. !!! I hate the Bogota. I like Harrahs
The casinos are there to take your money, but they have to realize without some winners, there would be no players at all. I used to count cards around town including the Four Queens, and took about 5 years away from the game. When I came back, within ten minutes, they had me identified and (surprisingly enough) dismissed the dealer to go to the break room and bring back his replacement, a magician who could make the cards dance and do anything he wanted. That dealer proceeded to shuffle up any time I bet more than 5 dollars.
I love how brutally honest this guy is.
I actually do think that all the advantages they gave him would be considered cheating in a sense. However they agreed to give him those advantages so they played themselves.
They agreed to permit him and his collusionist their request. They didn't agreed to allow him and her to win by cheating. They were not agreeing to cheating or card sorting.
It would be like if we were playing a hand and I told you what my cards were then got mad at you for using that information to win
@@Str8Faced
But you do know don'y you that it was Mr. Ivey trying to sue (got mad) Crocfords Casino. So a flawed augment if you are trying to imply the Casino operators were the mal-contents. In fact Mr. Ivy lost his High Court Case as well so as the loser he had to pay plus he had to pay the court costs. So you can imagine how not mal-content they were to see him paying their costs as well.
If you told me what your cards were then got mad at me for using that information to win. I may still think you are a mad poker player. But I likely would not tell you I thought you were mad. I likely wouldn't care if your brains were frying with red rage. If you were honest at the door then you are over eighteen and as an adult you would be entitled to be treated as an adult unless you prove you are not entitled. But you are not entitled to free mental health care or free psychological assistance or free education in the Casino from me unless you were going to do some-thing really stupid or dangerous such as fall out of the window or sit on the stove hot burner.
If it was just you and I in the pot then you are allowed to tell me what you have. If I had pocket twos and the pot was getting bigger I may ask you to show me one card and if you do you would only have to pay 50% of the next bet to win the pot if your cards beat mine. But I would not tell you I had pocket twos. But house rules here are if there is a third party in the hand you may not then tell your hand unless you are prepared to forfeit your share of the pot. As acting out of turn or abusing by revealing results in the forfeiture penalty. You forfeiting your money does not make us mad. The more and bigger the merrier.
Str8Faced It’s not cheating at all in a sense.
Imagine fighting me in a fighting game, and we agree to put a handicap.
Then I cry about it, call you a cheat, and take you to court.
Both the casino and the player agreed to the terms of play........ not cheating.
exactly, regardless of the reasons for agreeing to the terms, the terms were agreed upon. obviously fair
They are
It’s just like a legally binding agreement. Even if someone doesn’t get there way they can go back to the contract in court and say right here you agreed to this.
I definitely side with Ivey on this one. He specified the type of deck he wanted to use and wanted to use the same deck throughout. If the casinos were too dumb to see the red flags and acquiesce to the requests, that's on them, IMO.
Casinos are the biggest crooks in the world. If you lose a million they’re all smiles. You win a million and they kick you out.
That smile at 12:38 "Sure.. sure, that's why I was in there". Epic!

The Casino is mad they couldn't hustle Phil Avey's money... he simply out hustled them.
They hussle millions of people and cant take 1 guy 1 upping them, pathetic.
Dana White (President of the UFC) is banned from the Palms for taking them also. 😂
Sounds like he played smarter than the casino. They agreed to every request. Pay him.
He owed the casinos nothing. It's pathetic that the system protects the casinos in cases like this. He asked. They said OK. Nothing changed after that EXCEPT for the fact they expected to win, and lost.
This guy has such a poker face, he must stare at his electric bill and win.
Yeah I have to 100% agree with this mans logic. Casinos are 100% allowed to tip the odds in their favor as long as they don't break the law to do so. He made a request to tip the odds in his favor, they granted the request, and he won... A saying I hate, but applies... "What is good for the goose is good for the gander."
That's what the casino's get for fucking with a professional.......
Take the casinos money, I don't care if he actually cheated.
They wouldn't cash him out, thats why casinos give chips instead of cash
If he did anything illegal he'd be in criminal court, the very fact that this is not in Criminal Court already tells the tale
illegal doesn't mean criminal, it's a civil case.
Update on this case:
There were two lawsuits:
1) Crockfords Casino in London-In 2017, unsurprisingly lost this case. UK judge ordered that Crockfords didn't have to pay the £7.7 million ($12.1 million).
2) Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey-In 2016, lost this case. Judge ordered Ivey to pay $10 million/$10.1 million. In 2020 (last year) Both Ivey and Borgata settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
Don't gamble. Casinos use mathematical models and calculations to favor themselves at your wallet's expense. They have the resources and the rules (and laws) favor them. If you do go, intend to lose all of your money.
So he lost both lawsuits? Wow that is terrible. The player protection these days is to not be a player at all, I guess.
