I’d take this trade too. A rock solid defense is the best friend to an offense that will probably average 11.5 points per game. I know this trade is a made up scenario by the guys at Firedide ( I have not heard or read anything on CBS sports or other media outlets).

I definitely understand about possibly losing a QB or blue chip WR and that’ll probably hurt us but Surtain is arguably the best player at his position and is only 24 years old. We can use the 12th overall pick on a WR if we really want to or trade up again and get a WR. We’ll definitely figure it out but I’ll definitely do this trade if it happens.

This trade would be absolutely epic. I feel Joe would only pull the trigger on this trade if Daniels, Maye, Harrison, & Nabers are off the board. Take Brian Thomas Jr at 12 and that’s an absolute WIN.

I take this in a heartbeat but I don't think this trade is very realistic
I also agree with Alex that it would be hard to pass up on a blue chip prospect at 6 but I also look at it as if we could select Surtain at 6 we'd do it and combine that with still getting a stud at 12 and you'd have to take that deal IMO.

late first or 2nd round ,, penix is good , but not great out of the pocket ,, previous injury 25 yr. old ,
nix can move around , and did throw for over 4,000 yds , with 44 td's and 5 int's , i mean,, yeah .
I wouldn’t be mad at that trade. Also if we get Bryan Thomas. That would be great.

I've been thinking a lot about the Giants getting Penix. I read that Daboll was the first person to speak to him after he finished throwing on his pro day. I do think they are going to have to trade up into the end of the 1st round to get Penix. If they can come away with Nabors or Odunze and Penix , I would be very excited for next season.

We actually never had the ability to draft Devonta Smith. The Cowboys were in front of us with the Eagles behind us in that draft, and the Eagles traded in front of us with the Cowboys. I remember that draft very well since I sank into my seat, because I very much wanted Devante Smith.

Our problem was that we could not score the ball. It was not our defense. We need to focus on the offense. We need a WR1.
My understanding was that the trade rumor was for Denver moving up to pick 3 (Patriot's pick), not pick 6. But if true, there is no question that the Giants are in greater need offensively than defensively. I hope NY doesn't give up a WR1 because they are in deep need of one. Sure the Broncos are playing with Surtain in a deal...he has a 24 - 26mil cap hit this season. How would the Giants pay him? IMHO, the Vikings are in a better position to trade up for a QB. If I was going to give up the farm for a franchise QB, I don't think that pick 6 would do it.
*Cooper DeJean & Surtain II would COMPLETELY Revitalize NYPD might even be better then Landon Collins, Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie, & Janoris Jenkins IF we have Surtain, Banks, and DeJean* 😳😮💨

I would do that trade but why would Denver? If I could move back up to get Odunze and have 2 1's in 2025 while giving up other lesser draft capital I am all for it. Don't think this will ever happen. As you mentioned the Giants passed on Parsons and got Toney and Neal instead, mindboggling dumb.

As of right now, the Broncos top two quarterbacks are Jared Stidham and Ben DiNucci. While I agree that the straits scenario is probably a longshot, they are going to have to make a move.

Anything could happen on draft day but i predict staying put and taking Odunze. Seems like the most likely scenario. Still not convinced that Nabers doesn’t fall to us, but it did sound like he doesn’t want to come here.
This trade makes sense to me a lot it’s hard because we got burned two years ago and we do have more holes to then QB

I like this trade. You trade the ability to get a great receiver for a great CB and a good player plus the ability to trade up to a top QB next year. Seems like a good sacrifice for one of the top 3 receivers this year. I like it a lot. Don't see the broncos doing this.
I also agree with Alex pick 6 is the most confusing pick this year. To take 1 step back to make 3 steps forward is a no brainer for me. Even if 1 player busta it's still 2 steps forward. No brainer.
I would do this trade in a minute and I wouldn’t even mind going DT and safety with the first two rounds . I’d hate to leave Jones without a top reciever again , cause I don’t care who the qb is they need a true elite weapon to throw to, but they might just have a top 5 defense . I’d take Murphy though. And Daniels will be the 4th qb taken and even if he’s there at 6 we would pass . Write it down.
Murphy at 12 would be straight up 🔥 Burns, Dex, Murphy, and Thibodeaux??? SHEEEESHHHHH it all starts in the trenches right? So why not have one of the best DLines in the league?

Of course you that, for 2 first round picks. Otherwise, don't get cute and just take Nabers. I'm not sure they can screw this up, they'd almost have to try to mess this spot up. I think Shoen knows this, that's what all the smoke is about, trying to see I'd they can get a haul that is worth passing on the top 10 player.

my initial reaction was hell no but the more you think about having banks and surtain as your boundry corners is such a tantilising prospect and if like you suggested they trade back up into the top 10 to get one of the big 3 WR i would be happy with any of them thou odunze is my preference personally ,but this is all based on the pats sticking and picking maye because i want maye to dabol and i would much rather do this than touch any part of jj mccarthy who i think goes to the vikings at 4 with a trade with arizona the QB is important enough i would take that over a deal with denver to get the right QB but it would still be difficult to bypass that trade

I think a trade for Surtain is interesting but Surtain is owed 19 million in 2025 and is a free agent after 2025 so the cost could be excessive to keep Surtain maybe a trade back with the Vikings for 11 & 23 to take Quinyon Mitchell and Brian Thomas Jr would be interesting

At 12 the Giants can go D line or O line. This is a great trade, because DJs salary keeps us from drafting his replacement. Not so next year where a rookie QB can sit or compete for the starting job. And Denver's first round pick gives us that chance.
Great move for the Giants at this point. They wouldn't be able to pull this trade on draft day.

The offense is still gonna suck this year, even if we draft a good receiver. No high hopes for this season so lets build on the draft cap.
This is a trade I do without thinking that's essentially 3 starters for 1 however there's no way the broncos give their first round pick next year it'd be maybe a third at best i would think
Stick or trade down. Build a great team first. You guys get carried away with desperation for a qb when half of them are busts anyway. Let's have a little more patience. Don't give away the farm Giants. Love your show
So true . To draft a qb now with this roster when you just paid one makes zero sense unless it’s Payton Manning or someone like that . And after Williams there is no one on that kind of level . They will more likely bust than succeed

There’s no guarantee they’d get a veteran playmaker in a trade but can with the 6th pick WR in the draft.
The Giants needed a WR then and took one now look at the talent they passed on. And we still need a WR.

Having speculated about all this, isn't it great that we have a Gm now who has leverage and isn't tipping his hand? Gettleman would surely have screwed this up. I have confidence Schoen will do the right thing for the NYG. Even if its staying put and taking a great receiver. Either way he will make this team better.

I know this a mock trade, but hot damn this is a haul if it were true. Two top 7 picks in 2025 (if this trade were real) that two chances for Schone to blow it, like he’s probably going to do in just a few days.

Get Rome at 6th. Then trade back up if possible for a QB unless one of the top 3 QB’s falls to 6. We NEED offensive players. Other than a CB 2 I’d rather more offensive players. Maybe even grab a veteran after the draft and/or trade Slayton for one.

What in the HELL were you looking at Wilson cause Odunze does NOT have good separation. In fact that is one of his WORST traits. He has lack of speed and separation and that is NOT what you would want with the 6th overall pick for a player you're wanting to be a gamebreaker. His lack of speed and separation means he's not going to get double-teamed as much either and he won't translate as well to the pros. Not to mention he will have a bad "yards after the catch" stat too. GO WATCH THE TAPE WILSON you did a terrible scouting job there!

Dude if you say no to the PS2 trade then I beg of you to go watch literally any football at all. PS2 is at the very worst a top 5 CB in the nfl. He’s arguably top 2. He’s also TWENTY FOUR! He’s young and amazing and we get TWO FIRSTS?! That trade is a no brainer and if we get an offer like that and decline then I’m pissed.
