His past two drafts + navigating the cap issues that Dave Gettleman left him with have left not just you but myself concluding that he has indeed done a great job. Especially this offseason, with trading for Burns but also revamping the offensive line while not reaching for a QB at 6, have all shown us that Schoen is the right man to turn this franchise around. Great point!
I think someone you didn't mention could be a big factor. Darius Beavers was coming off a torn acl last year, he could be huge if healthy. He was looking good before getting hurt.
My goodness, you're right!!! Great that you pointed that out, I hope he shines if he does take the field! The linebacker room is pretty full, especially after adding Darius Muasau!
Our pass rush with Kayvon Thibodeaux Dexter Lawrence Brian Burns Azeez Oliguri Isaiah Simmons Could remind us of our great ones Michael Strahan Jason Pierre Paul Osi Umenyiora Justin Tuck Those guys were fantastic we hope for these guys to be similar
Yes, the linebackers will be key to the defense working or not. Especially in wide 9. The edges need to win one on ones and the interior guys along with the box safety need to fill gaps and most importantly not miss tackles.
I love it man! Burns and Thibodaux, along with Ojulari on specific pass-rush situations at times, will need to win their matchups consistently. With Thibodeaux's pass rush grade (62.9 according to PFF) being worse compared to 2022 (67.9), it's critical that he improves on that and should do so with Burns on the opposite side (who, himself had a 75.2 grade, one of the best in the league). Interior guys like Lawrence will do their thing (Jordon Riley more playing time? But then again, Jordan Phillips was signed for a reason). Add in the idea that Tyler Nubin had success playing in the box and is a solid tackler himself with good run defense, and this defense is a bright spot. Sorry for my paragraph, but love how you mentioned the wide 9 concept!
I'm excited to see this new defense under Bowen. When you look at the guys we were throwing out at linebacker under Judge, this unit is 1000x more talented. Bowens defenses are usually tough to run on. Thibs needs to improve in that area, and it's nice going into the season not counting on Ojulari to stay healthy all year.
lol can’t wait to watch the eagles blow the delusional giants fans out. Like every year. Brian burns struggled getting 10 sacks in a weak division. Now your in the East where every o line is decent besides the giants. He’s going to struggle even more. Giants fans have become more delusional than cowboys fans at this point.
Love your youthful enthusiasm. I've been a fan since 1977. Watch a video of Lawrence Taylor before you use the word "Feared" when discussing a NYG linebacker. This team will not be feared by anyone.
Bobby O and McFadden are the keys. Burns is a pass rusher. Thibs is a stat complier. He doesn't play the run well, doesn't cover the pass well, he's an undersized DE. had 3-4 great games last year and the rest were mediocre.
Dude had 11.5 sacks and a decent amount of tackles for loss when do you ever see him not play the run he has chased down receivers and running backs in screens had a couple forced fumbles so idk what you mean he has 0 pass rush help other than dexter Lawrence who takes double if not triple teams so yea he isn't going to have 20 sacks with 0 help and he got exponentially better this year from his rookie year you need to check out some film my friend your comment is false.
Agree with Okereke and McFadden as the keys. It's the beauty of the 3-4 defense that allows Burns and Thibodeaux to be pass rushers :). Sure, it's worth noting they can't be completely liabilities in coverage. Having Burns will help Thibodeaux as less attention will be focused on him.
@@T9XVegeta if you checked out the films you'd see an undersized DE who gets blown out on running plays. Yes he's a good pass rusher, but he does not play the run well. KT had 12 games with 2 tackles or less. 5 games with zero tackles. Look at similar players: Quay Walker, TJ Watt, Quincy Williams etc. Far more tackles. Burns will help him greatly. And KT did improve from year 1, but he needs to make another jump to be seen as a top OLB.
@@portopottybreath9375 bro your crazy if you think that's true aziz is always hurt or half assing plays I'd give you him but KT is the reason we won I'd say half of our games also kind of hard to keep that same motor going when your offense ranks 32nd every damn year and our defenders are on the field 80 percent of the game... yet we fire the defensive coordinator? That's retarded man consider all factors those players you mentioned they get 4 turnovers in a game they win no question we do and we lose yet people point at the defense???? Miami 4 turnovers we lost by 17 howwwwwww? Oh yea our offense sucks dick I don't expect the defenders to play 100 percent of the game and still have all the energy in the world to continue stopping offenses the offense needs to help out alot more and you will see how great they are. Washington we had 6 turnovers and barely won so still want to blame them or say they have lack of effort because your dead wrong.
😂 man when I saw that play live I couldn’t believe it. But in all seriousness he cannot continue to stare down his receiver and read plays like you mentioned. No excuse this year. Better o-line, better WR1, this is it.
As a Giant's fan, seeing is believing. Won't be getting excited until I see at least 10 wins.
perfectly valid, my man! it's been a while since we had 10 wins, this hopefully could be the year:)
Just beat Dallas. I don't care if we go 1-16
@@mikehughes8023 it's been a while since we have, my man! hope this is the year!
Joe Schoen is doing a great job.

Finally someone gets it.
Bobby Okereke is the man who need more praise.
Had an outstanding season, and still wasn’t an All-Pro? The NFL better get their shit together, he deserved that honor last year!!!!!

KT and Sexy Dexy is why I'm sticking it out with the Giants.
I'm glad they are keeping you sane! Hopefully, guys like Burns and others will keep you believing in the G-Men! :)
Our pass rush with
Kayvon Thibodeaux
Dexter Lawrence
Brian Burns
Azeez Oliguri
Isaiah Simmons
Could remind us of our great ones
Michael Strahan
Jason Pierre Paul
Osi Umenyiora
Justin Tuck

preach, David, preach! That's our hope as we head into this season.

@@mickpratt8327 amen to that. really eager to see how the front four will play, as Bowen's defense won't blitz as much as Martindale's did :)

thank you for the kind comment! you never know, Paul! This may be the year the defense puts it all together and strikes fear into opposing offenses!
