This review was informative & entertaining=infotainment! I died, each time you introduced a new spec or component of the Gigabyte laptop with that strange superhero music. I enjoyed your review. Thank you ever so much for the alternatives that you recommended.
The problem with comparing gaming laptops just by GPUs is some come with different wattages. Just because a laptop says it’s a 4060, it could be the lowest wattage version which can make the 4050 on par or better.
Most 4060 doesnt have a performance gains past 90w, 140w is just a marketing gimick so 75w is just fine with a 4060 it will still have better performance than a 140w 3060
The reason why the HDMI port could not achieve higher resolutions is because it is connected through the CPUs display output rather than utilizing the rtx4050s signal.
@@s.tahsin.r2288 I highly doubt it especially with gigabyte laptops cos they tend to be low end and their software is no where near what other brands have

Honestly, even the alternatives given in this video are pretty lackluster when it comes to build quality. I used to work as a technician for a repair company and both the Gigabyte as well as the MSI models as prone to hinge failure, overheating and plenty of other issues. We used to get those for repair all the time. The hinges are garbage, specially on the MSI one. Since the cooling solutions are not that great, they tend to overheat and are built very cheaply. I think people should be looking at Lenovos and ASUS ROG Strix NOT the Zephyrus line. I personally have had good luck with Dell G15 lineup build quality wise, but their Alienware/Dell Software is lackluster at best. So, like always, do your research.
Would you say Acer is a better alternative for build quality? Specifically Acer Nitro? How bad is the dell software? Looks like Dell would be a better option
@JameelAhmed-xc8vv Asus Tuf is better than nitro imo, the tend to have metal lids which reduces screen wobble and makes it feel more premium. And Asus Armoury Crate software is pretty decent
@orlandofranconovesterasjr.5548 Sorry, I guess my response didn't post. Acer Nitros are not great, pretty crappy build quality. I bought a Dell G15, I like the build quality, but Alienware (Dell) software is pretty barebones. I'm wondering if it's better to pick up an older laptop with a 3070/3080 at that point, you could probably get an older laptop for a similar price with an overall better GPU, even if it's missing the 40 series exclusive features.
This is actually why I bought my 2022 AMD Legion 7. I was able to get comparable performance to most of the midrange 2023 laptops, with higher VRAM on the GPU to boot!

Never buy a 4050 laptop for 1000$ that's just dumb Get a Lenovo legion pro 5 Rtx 4060 instead (decent high rate internal components) NEVER buy an ASUS laptop, they can brick at anytime (poor quality components inside)
how do solve thermal throttling CPU on laptop: Simply buy a 10-30$ heatsink for your cpu, and if its still within your budget, maybe and some 10-20$ fans for the whole laptop
I have a bit specced up version of this with laptop G5 KF i5-12500H with 8+4 cores config and 4060 8GB GDDR6 and for me it's good as I do mostly older games and mostly servery stuff , like Win 11 Enterprise (more advanced than Win 11 Pro) but I agree that plastic quality could be better , and since I had already cooling pad + carrier that will angle this laptop and help with its turbojet coolers , they're not too loud for me. Yes , speakers are a bit too loud , but I use external speakers that have their own power supply cable + have my own conferencing cam , some of these tradeoffs were mitigated before I even got my laptop. Micro SD slot is kinda better for me , since I don't have to mess with card adapters which get lost all the time or broken and most of devices that use them already use their micro variant directly , so not a big deal. However , 512GB SSD is too small for this age , so upgrading is necessary , and since there are 2 slots , that is great. But upgrade kits for RAM and SSDs from Crucial can cost as much as this laptop , if you decide to maxx it out , so that should be taken into consideration. Battery capacity is another issue , since G6 comes with almost double capacity , so that can be upgraded too. Inclusion of WiFi 6E is great , but my ISP router is just 5G , which is a bummer. Inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 is great , however quality Thunderbolt 4 cables are expensive , but if you get one , you can add stuff that's ommitted from laptop itself , thus expanding its capabilities to your liking , as they're basically external nVme in form of cable , so they can pull off a lot and more than periphetals and give you some extra. And , all that can fit into my laptop carrying bag or backpack , except speakers as they're too bulky and heavy. But , if you don't have already accessories that I have , this might not be the best purchase. Add to this and good HDMI cable with 8k @ 60/120Hz and you're good to go. Also , I use my touchpad for gestures and since it is 4 point multitouch , you can avoid clicking if it annoys you as there's so much extra room for gestures that you'll ever need them , and tapping instead of clicking is good too. Also , my laptop was the best deal I could get in Europe without breaking some serious bank. Also worth noting from software perspective is switching from gaming to studio drivers and software suite without rebooting , just a blink of screen , so nVidia app gets credit for that.
I don’t have any issues with the HDMI, but i can say the fans can get very loud, even though I play with this thing (forza h5, battle front) the CPU won’t get that hot.

That's a really good deal specs wise. 450$ usually only gets you a 1650/2050 laptop. As long as the build quality and cooling hold up, you got a hell of a deal.
I do have a brand new gaming Laptop The specs are Ryzen 7 7735HS with an RTX 4050 and 16 Gb of Ram. As i have played Cyberpunk 2077 i do average for about 110-120 fps with Ultra Settings, FG and DLSS 3 set to Balanced. I have not yet played the game again since too busy as of late. So Im wondering why is the FPS here in the video tested is rather low? Have you not turned on the FG and DLSS?
your laptop's 4050 probably has a higher wattage. The laptop shown in the video is relatively thin and the cooling solution is lacking for the specs as shown by the cpu hitting 97. Manufacturers will lower the amount of power the cpu/gpu can use so the tiny cooler inside doesn't need to work as hard. (copper is expensive) This is why two laptops with the same specs on paper can give different levels of performance.

Hey Zach, I am looking to upgrade my gtx 1650 in the near future and I will probably have a budget of $300-$350 maybe 400 but I am either looking to get and rtx 3060 12gb, Rtx 3060ti 8gb, or an rtx 4060 but I don’t know what one would be the best I like the 3060 12gb cause of the vram but don’t know if I should pick more vram over a bit more performance
Look into what games you play most or are planning to play. Some of them use more vram than others. Look up benchmarks to see how those cards run those games. Also, consider things like DLSS 3.0 being available on only certain cards if you care about that sort of thing.
Hey. I just saw a 2 year old video of yours . It was about streaming on a budget laptop. I have a question. I have a laptop with i5 8th gen and gtx 1050ti. Can i play games and stream them at 720p ? Plz let me know.
Recently there is a sale on laptop with ryzen 7 7840hs and 6gb vram 4050,512gb ssd for 700usd...only catch is it has 8gb ram, which you can upgrade to 16 gb along with a 512 gb ssd...should i take it???
I mean if i had this laptop id just plug in a mause and keyboard so i may just put something under it so it isnt touching the table so it cools better 😅
Don’t forget to activate Windows on ALL of your gaming PCS! (Use Code ZTT18 to save 25%!) biitt.ly/7MXAR

i got a laptop for 450$

7500+rpm fans(turbo fans)
factory overclocked by 5%

AND Most Importantly really bright RGB on the keyboard
is it good value?
That's a really good deal specs wise. 450$ usually only gets you a 1650/2050 laptop. As long as the build quality and cooling hold up, you got a hell of a deal.
thx
I do have a brand new gaming Laptop
The specs are Ryzen 7 7735HS with an RTX 4050 and 16 Gb of Ram.
How do I turn on my FG and DLSS
your laptop's 4050 probably has a higher wattage. The laptop shown in the video is relatively thin and the cooling solution is lacking for the specs as shown by the cpu hitting 97. Manufacturers will lower the amount of power the cpu/gpu can use so the tiny cooler inside doesn't need to work as hard. (copper is expensive) This is why two laptops with the same specs on paper can give different levels of performance.
you can do it in the setting under the Graphics Settings I believe, listed under Frame Generation something like that.
update still averaging about 120 fps with High to Ultra Presets, no Motion Blur but DLSS set to Balance and FG.
Hey so I’m looking for a super budget gaming laptop max price would be 700$ but 600$ would be preferred I mainly will use it to play Fortnite and modded Minecraft and running unity to develop my own games on the go any recommendations for that price
i have legion 5 5800h + 3060 and in overcolck mode time spy score was 9000 ...you can find it around 1000$ ... better screen better speaker better perfotmance
The lenovo laptops seem to be plain better than most of the competition, but the price seems to be higher for similar specs. 😪
I think gigabytes is just predator laptop
Day 1 of asking which GPU is best for i3 9100F for under rs25000(INR) in gigabyte h310 s2 2.0 motherboard.❤
My laptop has an even better price to performance because mine has i7-12700H, 2TB NVMe SSD, an rtx 4070, and I got it just for a 1000 bucks
What's the name of it?
@@yeohqian9852 Asus tuf a15 I'm pretty sure

Reliable

Has a gpu atleast better than a 1060 ti

Asking for a friend

Asus f15
In india it comes with i7 12 gen processor at 850 dollars should I buy it ?
I have 16gb of ddr4

I like to 1440p game. What would you recommend my upgrade be if i have $650ish to spend
question, how often should I be updating the drivers and bios?
Once a month
I got it for half the price in India 😂 500$ is steal

What is the best GPU for an i7 6700k in an optiplex 3050mt. I'm limited by the PSU.
A GTX 1650 probably or a 2060.
@@mrwxlfz the optiplex has a small PSU tho
@@RealPcWorld Get a low profile card, might be more expensive but worth it.
@@RealPcWorld Also, you probably should get the Thermaltake Smart 500w that I think will fit.
