I am very humbled every time I see a comment like yours. Glad my video could help with your decisions, you won’t regret it. PHEV is one of the best vehicle motor type from HMG I personally think. Korean market never got PHEV, curious how it is!
Chose to watch your channel instead of AsianPetrohead, Motograph World, …. Because you explain much more details. Keep up the good work man. Keep posting usually
Beautiful car! Great video. I am considering a hybrid for my next vehicle and the Sorrento is a possibility. I currently have a 2023 Tucson Limited that I really like!
That temporary license plate was pretty interesting. It's great that they make it out of paper since it can be easily disposed of once the permanent registration is done. Here in India, It's a yellow license plate with red lettering that's made out of either plastic or metal and valid for 1 month.
The Hybrid has a "kick" that the V6 Turbo Engine does NOT have! I drove it after the Hybrid and was stunned at the difference. The Hybrid is truly "Feisty!"
Great review! May I know if you could give some suggestion on which one would have a quieter and more comfortable ride? We are deciding between waiting for 2025 Tucson hybrid or getting the sorento hybrid. Also, would you plan to make a video comparing the sorento EX vs the SX prestige? It would be very helpful for people to know the exact difference. You are the only one I would trust that actually cover all the minor details❤
I would go for the Santa Fe with its new bold exterior and interior design. Currently, I own a Sorento. What I dislike about the Sorento is the piano black interior and the design of the aircon vent of the facelift models. I feel the new Sorento front boxy design does not match with the rear curve design. Unlike Santa Fe, it is boxy at the front and rear. Yeah the 2024 Hybrid Santa Fe for me. Thanks for the in-depth review of the Santa Fe and Sorento. Cheers!
@@CarSceneKorea why are you not talking about the availability of the 25 PALISADE and the powertrains or the potential 25 Palisade or 25 motor options talk about the Genesis GV 90 I can’t imagine you don’t know anything over there. In the usa the new carnival is having a parasitic battery drain issue But i heard some of the sorentos are being affected as well. Its really a shame. Something is up with our assembly.
We have a 2024 Telluride in Florida. We really love the vehicle and are looking for something similar in Canada. Most things are awesome but a couple things that bug me are ,you can’t lock the doors using the inside lock button as yo leave. You must use the outside lock button or the remote. This makes no sense to me . Wish it had kick sensor for the lift gate . Not a big fan of the walk up sensor. At least you can disable it. Really impressed so far.
Does this vehicle have the augmented reality headset up display? And is there a difference between the plug-in hybrid and the regular hybrid other than just the fact you can plug in and get extra range on EV. Do I have to plug in if it’s the plug in version, or can I forget it and just use the hybrid aspect and plug in when I want to?
Yes, the 2024 Kia Sorento will feature an augmented reality (AR) head-up display. I cannot answer about the PHEV part since Korea never gets PHEV Sorento nor Santa Fe.
Did your friend get the third row seats? If not, why didn't he just get the Sportage Hybrid instead? Isn't the Sportage Hybrid cheaper and get better mileage?
Santa FE HEV has a much roomier feeling interior! Plus the Sorento looks like every other CUV on the road. I'll take the new SF over the Sorento all day every day!
So, get the 2025 KIA Sorento Hybrid without a charging port! It charges as you drive the car!! I chose the Sorento over the Santa Fe, because Hyundai make the Santa Fe into a BOX! I don't want to drive a Box! Not my taste in styling. The Sorento is styled with a beautiful flowing Classic look. What a car!
Torque is what you 'feel', HP is more about top end speed. May I suggest you pick either using abbreviations or words but not both... saying what each means after each abbreviation is redundant.
Maybe the best channel out there for Korean cars. Nevertheless, once you get close to Santa Fe, there is now way you would change to Sorento. Santa Fe is a breakthrough in terms of design and spaces. Sorento is a more or less what we already know plus its design is modern-boring.
I think the Santa Fe Hybrid would be the choice for me, but I definitely prefer the limited with bench instead of captains chairs. I do prefer the full pano roof vs the split in the santa fe.
@@CarSceneKorea Not really. I have a 2016 Sorento SXL with the huge pano roof. It squeaks and rattles like crazy and the dealer can't find a fix for it. I would never buy another vehicle with a giant pano roof like that again
I'm just annoyed that in the US, Kias and Hyundais don't get the electronically controlled suspension (ECS), remote part assist 2 (RSPA2, we only get forward and reverse movement), or the power tilt/telescope steering column; very disappointing. Even the Genesis models only get some features if you order the V6 and Prestige models (such as blind spot monitoring), and none of the Genesis models are hybrids.
The year model depends on the market to another, if you see a different front design when seeing the 24 and 26 where you are, it nearly is completely a different car.
Very nice looking but not enough space. The KIA EV9 has a beautiful looking design and shape. I wish KIA could make the EV9 in Hybrid. It might never happen. I stick to Hyundai Santa fe 7 seats, I like it as hybrid...
Does Korea have the KIA Sportage? Here in the US we have both. Seems like the Sportage would have been a better fit for your friend, and his wife. Here in the US at least the Sportage is just a smalller 2 row Sorento. The KIA EV9, and Niro EV seems like they will do well here in the US. I personally dont care for EVs. Not yet at least. Here in the US EVs cost 10k, or more than the same gas vehicle. The cost of GAS VS EV would take me 10 years to break even. We trade out about every 3 years. The resell difference isnt there either. With that EVs are a money lost for pretty much everyone at this point. They need to come down price wise to what a hybrid is, about 2k more. That's a long ways off i feel.
Couldn’t agree more. Id get and want an EV for the sake of its drive and things you can do with the EV, not so much bc of how economical it is operating it.

He liked Sorento better, the look.
The amber drls make it look so distinct here in America!!
Wish Korea would allow the amber DRLs too - it's illegal in Korea, has to be white and white only.
how come the diesel also gets the same range? but hybrid more expensive? isnt it a no brainer to get the diesel?
I'm thinking of either the Sorento or the GLC. How's the ride quality compared to the GLC?
Based on the price, I sure do hope GLC would be better.
The front-end lighting has a Cadillac vibe.

What range do you get out of a full tank
It will happily depend on a driver to another. Someone in Korea clocked 1,120km.

Korea never got PHEVs, so no, but there is one with Santa Fe, so most likely is the same case with Sorento.
For me, sun root is not needed. If some (hybrid) variants of Santa Fe have spare tier, I'll prefer that. No spare tire is a big no.
It might be available in your market. The availability of a spare tire varies depending on a market to another.
