Thank you for your review, I’ve been trying to decide which of these two cars is the better option. This videos take a lot of detail and work, so here is a small token of appreciation.
I have the Sportage Hybrid. My last two cars were Toyotas. Honestly, compared to Toyotas the Sportage DOESN'T seem outdated . I did not intend to buy a KIA . However , when I drove it I absolutely loved it. My friends were saying " they are junk don't buy one". They are definitely not junk. All of them that called them junk that have rode in my Sportage were surprised at how nice it drives . I love my Sportage. I think it's beautiful. The Tucson looks really nice too. I am still happy with my choice .
I agree, I traded in my 2020 Honda CR-V for 2024 Sportage SX & I adore it! had a Toyota RAV4 prior to Honda & I am still very Happy with my choice. KIA's have come a long way, all around.
My friend owned an earlier model Sportage and said never again. However, they sure might have put more quality n care back into newer models we see today.
I just bought the new Tucson Hybrid Nline 2025 model. This is an upgrade from my Tucson petrol 2021 which i had for 3 years. No issues whatsoever, and the amount of stuff you get as "standard" compared to other brands is amazing. So it was a no-brainer when the upgrade opportunity came calling. I'm now hooked on the Hyundai brand for LIFE ☺
I recently had my Tucson Hybrid N-Line delivered, amazing car and i am looking forward to driving it for years. The reason for buying Tucson is that I like the model over the Sportage and the dealerschip is excellent, a small family dealerschip with lots of attention for the customers instead of a dealer who only wants to sell, looking forward to all your videos, greetings from Belgium
I've owned a Kia/Hyundai for the last 23+ years, in all those years, five different cars....not one break down, not one issue other than regular oil changes, wipers / tires......things you have to do with every car. In all those years TWO factory recalls. I have friends who make fun of Hyundai.....and I laugh when their more expensive cars break down.
We have a Kia soul with 300k miles. But even reaching about 200k, There has been a ton of problems. But before that, it was great. I’d say be cautious if u want to own them long term. My old Nissan didn’t have issues at the same range.
@@pocketman22 Do you think 200k miles is less? That is way more than any car SHOULD run for. You're seriously lucky to have a car, especially one that inexpensive even run that much, let alone 300k. What exactly are you complaining about? And old Nissan? Are you saying your Nissan didn't have issues even after 200k?
I was going to buy a Sportage too, but I didn't like the service given by the car salesman on Sportage's side, so I ended up signing a Tucson. I prefer Tucson now.
Another great video so thank you. I’m on the verge of choosing my next car having driven VW Touran model for over 15 years. I was 99.9% certain it will be the Sportage but now I’ve seen this video it’s making me have a rethink. The main deal breaker for me would be the outdated indicator / turn signal of the Tucson in its low position on the bumper as in the UK tailgating is a real thing and trying to turn that light won’t be visible. I wish the Tuscon had the higher indicator like the Sportage, then it would be the best. Thanks
Tailgaiting is actually not allowed, you shouldn't be biased by the driving culture in your country, if someone goes over you, you have your rights to defend yourself.
I have a kia sportage hybrid 2023. Its a great car except a few things. 1 - when coming to a near complete stop, there is a second lag before i can move forward again or i have to completely stop and sit for a split second. 2 - the center console is great but the curvy cup holder on one side can be flattened out. 3 - the auto liftgate opener is a little annoying. If you get out of the car and stand near the back it attempts to open. If you stand there intentionally wanting to auto open it takes too long. No win situation, i do prefer the foot kick sensor in cars. I see number 2,3 exists. Wonder if they addressed 1
I’m in the Uk and price difference Kia sportage and Hyundai 2024 are the same. Even tho the sportage got a two year gap. I enjoyed your comparison of the two cars. Very clear and not boring like some comparison videos. I test drive both cars my self. And you’re right about the phone charging in the Kia. And the lights in the Tucson. I’ve decided to go for the Tuscan it just beat the Kia by a little margin. Once the new Kia comes out I might go for Kia sportage.
I have a 23 sportage hybrid FWD, bought during the shortage of cars in the US. Was challenging to get anything at that time but ride quality is amazing and I am averaging 43mpg combined in the FWD version and have room for my bike and luggage and camp gear for trips. Amazing car. Tucson is more expensive in the US but includes a service plan. Main gripe with sportage is no option for FWD at the higher trims. The gas mileage difference is substantial in the HEV version.
Really fantastic review! Test drove both the Sportage Hybrid GT line and Tucson Hybrid Premium today. A few key differences that I noticed:- 1) Tucson Hybrid is AWD vs Sportage Hybrid that is FWD only. 2) HUD - only on Tucson 3) Paddle-shifters can be used to increase/decrease regen (very useful for one pedal driving similar to EV) 4) Hyundai has updated Tech Operating system Styling wise - I still think Sportage is just so much more cooler but it’s a personal preference.
I would say I didn’t immediately pick up on the blind spot point when I was driving both cars. But now that you’ve pointed it out in the review, I can see it certainly makes a difference. If only they released an updated Sportage Hybrid AWD option with a similar spec to the latest Tucson - sadly I can’t wait around for the refresh next year! Question: if you had to pick between a 2022/23 used Genesis GV70 and a brand new Tucson hybrid premium, what would you recommend?
After a 4 yrs old Passat I got a basic Tucson Select pre-facelift 2 months ago and love all of it. Quiet and smooth driving, decent, spacious and practical interior, very modern exterior. The main reason I got it was much better availability and leasing deal (160 €/mon. for 3 yrs, 15.000 km/yr) vs. Sportage. But I also like the design better vs Sportage as well as vs. Tucson facelift.
Sportage is such a great cost effective choice for the people whos living in super big city like Guangzhou,Seoul.I had a try on the 2021 Sportage 2.0T edition last week and i do like its feeling and im also planning to order one later❤thanks for sharing
Great comparison video. I recently purchased a 2025 fully loaded Tucson Hybrid (it's called the Ultimate Trim here in Canada). I chose the Tucson because it rated slightly higher on most of the reviews and I like the exterior styling better on the Tucson - especially the look of the daytime running lights and the rear taillights. I was initially trying to buy a Toyota Hybrid, but I wasn't willing to wait for the 1-2 years ETA.
Yea my friend I like Kia cars a lot, see them all over the road here in US. But I’m on my 3rd Hyundai, a 2019 Tucson Ultimate (US-spec). I went and looked at the Sportage and thought about trading in. But I saw Sorrento and I liked that better. But now New Santa Fe is out and I think the design is a Masterpiece, so I now want a Santa Fe. But when I go to the dealer I’ll decide between Tucson HEV or Santa Fe HEV. There both great cars so idk, We will see which one I prefer when I test drive!…Thanks for your incredible reviews of Hyundai/Kia & Genesis vehicles. You’re one of my fav’my friend! 😉
@GREATNESS275 They are all over the road because the foreign countries have slowly ruined the American auto manufacturing. It's call cheap labor. Build huge plants for anything then you will see more of that product.
I pick up my tucson plug in hybrid in about 2/3wks, eco grey pearl. Such a beautiful car and the test drive was so smooth. I'm going from a 2024 QQ to the Tucson and it felt just like a bigger version. Very comfy and easy to drive, I also test drove the new MGHS and wow it was heavy, bulky, uncomfortable, quick but loud, not smooth, jerky over bumps. Sportage didn't do it for me, so Team Tucson here!
When will you get a look at the 2025 Sportage hybrid? I was about to buy a 2024. Just wondering if I should wait for the 2025 model depending on what changes they are making!
I just bought a 2024 Tucson in the UAE. This is as of May 2024, as we will get the 2025 model here only by Nov 2024. I love the Tucson, I think it looks wayy better than Sportage, & since the hybrid model doesnt come in the top trim here, I went with the 2.5L Petrol top trim. Im loving all the features of the Tucson & it feels like an amazing premium experience driving it. Somehow I didnt even get a test drive on the Sportage, but i did test drive the CX5 & Forester. If the CX5 had more space in the back & the boot, I probably would've bought that even though it was more expensive by about $3000 for the highest trim. But finally, i found the max value for money in the Tucson 2.5L so i bought it. The CX50 isn't available here.
In the UK, Kia only offer 36 months finance on non-EV models. Hyundai offer 48 months on all models, so it's doesn't break the bank each month. That's why the Tucson is being bought this month!
Regarding the flashing device, it is not a matter of light but a matter of cost. At C$47,000.00, I estimate that LED lights are a minimum. Especially in 2024.
Being between the Sportage and Tucson FL right now... Sportage was my first choice before the Tucson fl but now i think im going for the Tucson. Firstly for the updated interior. Love that new design with the space due to the shifter being on the steering wheel. Also IFS, HUD, the new cleaner screen and the software, more buttons for controls instead of the captive buttons in the Sportage makes me choosing the Tucson. Love the look of the Sportage more though 😅. Of course the sportage facelift is around the corner... Will be for sure astounding if they do something similar to the interior. Thanks for all the videos very informative and thorough.
I got a 2024 Tuscon Ultimate, we love it and got it because of all the features and the look. Never tested the Kia but I still would have bought the Hyundai. Great power too!
Excellent review! I love both vehicles. My wife and I drive a Tucson. She has a ‘22 and I have a ‘23. The updates made to the facelift ‘25 make it an even better vehicle to own!
Great review. Love the look, updates to exterior and especially the interior, tech, ride, handling, price etc. However, the only thing I would change is to 1. raise the turn signals at the back HIGHER, closer to the light bar and 2. a minor detail but the key fob looks like it's from the 80's. The Kia key fob looks WAY better. Small detail, but I'm surprised Hyundai didn't do a better job with the key fob design. Otherwise, it's a home run imo..
I purchased the Tuscon because of the mechanical reliability was better based on some reviews and comments. Mechanical reliability was the most important factor for me.
I have a 2022 Hyundai Tuscon hybrid and love everything about it. However, the new facelift for 2025 may be enough for me to upgrade. The main complaint i have for Tuscon hybrid is the lack of cool colors available. I got the 2022 Tuscon because the Sportage facelift wasn't available when i got the car (close but not yet available) When is the Sportage getting a facelift? Need to know if i should go for the 2025 Tuscon facelift or if a Sportage facelift is coming out soon.
It should be around the corner, but given the time it would take to make overseas deliveries, I'd say it won't be available for good 3 to 6 months from now on.
@@CarSceneKorea The 2025 Tucson hybrid has everything that the 2022-24 version are sorely lacking plus it has a touch of design from the upgraded santa fe interior. I am totally getting it! I drive a 2023 santa fe hybrid. I love it but it's heavier on gas.
I've been watching videos for the last 6 months, and I'm still pretty sure that I'll go for the Sportage. I've been waiting for the 2025 to come out, and I'm glad that it looks like there is an increase in mpg.
I got Sportage as pre facelift Tucson interior was not my taste and matrix led was available in Sportage and not in Tucson. Also exterior design of Sportage is more attractive to me. With Tucson facelift it would be tougher choice as interior is nicer and the HUD but still I like the exterior looks better in Sportage European version.
Awesome comparison. Ive been eyeballing the 2025 Sportage here in the states, but im also waiting for the new Tuscon hybrid to hit dealers lots. The ICE versions just stated coming in. I think we might to wait till the fall . A month ago i was thinkng about a Kona limited but we only get ICE version in the USA and i like what im seeing with the new tuscon HEV.
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks for the input! Im heavily considering it. If i don't end up getting a compact SUV, then I might go for the new 2025 Kia K4 we're getting (GT trim), or the new 2025 Elantra N.
Any mechanical issues with either Sportage or Tucson? Seen a few RUclips videos comparing them to Toyota and stressed mileage lower and differences in hybrid system. Any comments on cost of ownership? Thank you
I cannot decide which one to get. I've been thinking for the last two weeks, and the clock is already ticking. Which one of them has a better suspension? And which one is more quiet? Isn't Kia's lane assist better than Tucson? I had impression Tucson is not handling that well, when the line is visible only on one side of the car. I am comparing two best trims for both cars, without the stylish line and no sunroof. For me KIA looks much better, but Tucson is newer, has the wireless Android Auto, and also the 'Walk-in-device' with seat memory. Rest of the features are identical, which makes the decision even harder
I currently comparing 24 Kia Sportage vs. 25 Hyundai Tuscon vs. 25Subaru Forester … most You Tube videos I see say “stay away from Kia / Hyundai regarding long term reliability and recalls,..but I like ‘em….its my “enigma wrapped around a conundrum “….
Is the New Sportage going to come in awd as to me that is one thing that disappoints me in the Sportage compared to the Tucson, i am talking sbout in Australia
Over the past 1,5yrs I've grown towards choosing a Sportage as a new company car(choice still to be made). I liked it more than the Tuscon, design wise and interior(I didn't like all the folds in the door panels and the front end. Also liked the dashboard of the Sportage more). But seeing a facelifted Tuscon, especially the N-line, with the new front and interior, I might just go for the Tuscon. Especially in White, with a black roof. Regards from The Netherlands.
My wife and I also signed a contract to buy a Sportage, but we canceled it due to a car salesman's service problem and signed a Tucson a week ago. I'm satisfied and waiting for the car to come out soon. I quite like the facade and interior of the facelift Tucson
I have the non face-lift tucson. The sportage was 4-5 thousand euros more expensive at the same level of trim in my country (Romania), which is why I went with the tuxon.
I bough the 2024 Kia Sportage X-line, I find it to be a little under powered however the hybrid is a lot faster. Sportage also looks nicer and is cheaper.
I drove both cars last year and Tucson feels wsy better. Better interior quality, less cheap plastic than Kia, better suspension and more interior room. I'm 2 m tall and i felt crumped inside Kia. Tuscon is a really good specious car for small families.
I am in the process of deciding between the 2025 Tucson hybrid and the Sportage hybrid both in the highest trim packages. I would like to know if either has the stop/start technology and if so can it be overridden so that it doesn’t work.
I'm not sure if it is just my neighborhood or not, but I am inclining more to purchase Tucson over Sportage because of a financing option offering a lower APR close to 0. I love to get Sportage, but 7.5% vs. 0% seems pretty significant to me.
Owner of a Sportage hev here. The European version comes with matrix lights which automatically adjust and “protect” the other cars in traffic. Unless the Tucson is using digital leds lights (the new generation) I don’t think it is a difference to the ones from the Sportage. I am not sure if all the markets receive these headlights from the sportage though.
I sold Kia for 10yrs. I just started selling Hyundai. Tucson Hybrid is much nicer. More options at lower trim levels. Like power tailgate is on every trim level Tucson Hybrid. Have to get mid trim and must have premium package to get a power tailgate. That is a major thing customers ask for and want.
As mentioned in the video, Tucson facelift better be "superior" than Sportage compared here given that one is a facelift and the other not. Sportage facelift is just around the corner, the fight is going to be tense!
Do You Know same serious clutch mechanical problems with the dual clutch for sportage,, because i live on Brasil and here the sportage users the dry box dual clutch.. Thanks
I went with Qashqai due too lack of Head Up display and huge price difference for top versions here, near 10k euro now imagine when facelift comes their prices will hit the roof!
Is there a difference in the display speed or overall speed of the facelift media center and the old one? I plan to buy a Sportage PHEV here in Hungary next months.
I drive a 2023 Kia Sportage hybrid because the ride is more smooth then the Hyundai Tucson hybrid it was also a little cheaper and has same tech. To me it's more quiet for the Sportage.
Thankyou for making videos that go into details and subjective comparisons that none of the other Consumer Education Auto Assessment Experts delve in to. The only thing I need to know now, before choosing a 2025 Tucson Hybrid, or a Sportage Hybrid this fall, is which of the two is the most comfortable for driver and passenger on long (+500 mile) trips. Under butt and thigh cushioning is most important for long trips when you're over age 50. If the 2025 Santa Fe receives a better looking back end, I'll get that hybrid. I have a 2020 Santa Fe now. 115,000 miles and starting to burn oil....like my 2015 Sonata did after 100,000 miles. Hopefully the Hybrids will not have that "problem".
Between Tucson and Sportage, I'd say there isn't much difference. However, all-new Santa Fe? I'd go with SF any time. The all-new SF came out real nice, the gap bw Tucson and SF is quite big in my opinion.
Hello there, I think it is also some difference around the sound absorption within the vehicle because your mic sounds different between the KIA and the Hyundai but maybe it is related due to mic placement,
If you did notice that, props! The mic was actually placed precisely the same position since I use wireless mic, didn't move it at all between two test drives. Used same video gear to record, so it could be the different driving course, but other than that, the difference we get from the video is real and raw.
25:34 Yesterday I had a call from our local dealership (Europe, Bulgaria) and was told that they expect first cars (for stores and test drives) to arrive June - July this year. The production in Nošovice factory in Czech Republik should start, or have already started this month. I currently have 22 Tucson HEV, but if I like the facelift in person, I might order one to replace it.
That's great! Not the first time hearing the current Tucson HEV owners debating to trade theirs in for this new one. I mean I knew it's a great car, but the hype is real!
Great news! I'm in Greece and the salesman in the dealership told me a month ago that, by his estimation, it would come in September...but would say that if Bulgaria get it in June July it's a real possibility to be in Greece as well! Really hoping for it to arrive sooner!
I’m about to get an Hyundai Tuscon 2024 in Prague on Tuesday. Since the new facelift will soon be ready in Czech Republic. I think it’s worth waiting for ?
Though I prefer the current iteration of the Tucson interior from a design perspective, I also like the capacitive buttons for the sleek look and there as there are no crevices to collect dust or dirt. Either way, I think the new look is still cleaner than the Sportage and has a few functional advantages. The Tucson outsells the Sportage here in the US, but it will even more so now.
Thanks for the comparison. I love the new Facelift Tucson N Line, however am extremely disappointed that Hyundai do not include the "Premium Audio System" in the N Line version ! They only include it in the N Line S but that also has the Glass / sun roof... which many of us do not want / chance of leaking/ rubber failure / and chips /cracks ! Such a shame they do not even give you an add on option for the Premium Audio on the N Line.
Yesterday I took Sportage for a test drive. Unfortunately it doesn't have double laminated glass on swedish market and there is lots of wind noise from 110km/h But I was actually blowed away how good suspension is on the gt line and how little road noise it generates. On the same day I tested also Lexus NX 350h without adaptive suspension. The Kia had better suspension, especially on the bad roads. I was extremely surprised how good this car is. I just hope they will fix the wind noise.
@@CarSceneKorea It was PHEV but I'm actually considering to buy HEV. Unfortunately only PHEV was available for a test drive but they will contact me again as soon they get a HEV. I was also able to test Mazda cx-5 and DS 4 and non of these cars could beat Sportage's suspension but they all had better wind noise control. The Sportage has really surprised me in many ways and I can't believe it's a same brand that just a decade ago had same status like Dacia today
Does The 2025 Tucson Hybrid have a spare tire? I originally got it because of the Front Facia, looked Better 😊. I'm going to wait for 6 months for a New version.
Hi. Thank you. You mentioned the new Tucson headlights. I think you meant Matrix LED on the more expensive trims, right? So it really much better than a normal LED on lower trims or on Sportage? Also wanna ask about normal 2.0 liters engine and 1.6 hybrid. In Europe we have huge differences in price (in US they cost almost the same amount). So is it worth to overpay $5k for the hybrid?
Yep, the LED headlight with IFS is for extra, which is found on higher(highest) trims depending on where you are. The headlight works just fine so long as they are LED, but the IFS is the cherry on top especially if you drive a lot under low lighting situations. Money is always important factor when judging it to be a "good" car, but I might weigh towards the next upgrade of the car - which in this case is Santa Fe - for $5K if that's what you can get. If not, I'd think real hard about it and calculate if I can get that $5K investment out of Tucson Hybrid ownership, be it the experience, gas, insurance, comfort, safety, etc.
@@CarSceneKorea Thank you for reply. In my country Santa FE comes without Matrix LED. Plus it costs much more (starting trim costs on $15k more). So it’s even different words. About lights do you think it worth invest in the better Matrix LED? Or it has a little improvement over the base LED? Also can you please record a video about the instrument cluster in the base trim? I want to see if it’s a good enough or only 12.3" screen must have. Thank you.
It's hard to spot a base trim since most cars provided by Hyundai and in showrooms are near loaded models obviously. The latest ccNC from Hyundai is quite worth the investment. I'd rather save on the LED Matrix and choose ccNC.
@@CarSceneKorea ccNC is about the infotainment screen or about the instruments cluster? Read about it, found that it’s a new concept in 2024 from Hyundai (hope from Kia too) with OTA updates. But not sure if it’s about one or another screen, or both. My understanding that it’s about having two big 12.3" screens to have this feature. And seems that cars with two big screens in my country have Matrix LED included. But sadly we have 2.0 naturally aspirated engine that seems a bit slow. And for 1.6T hybrid they ask to pay $10k. That seems too much to me
Hi I am from Taiwan and going to own a Sportage soon this year. However, Taiwan master agent didn't offer HEV version because HEV version is not available for long-based version, told by the salesman. So I am just curious is the statement mentioned above true in Korea domestic?
Each market has different models, I don't quite follow the model you've specified. Your local dealers ought to have the most updated and precise info on cars than I.
1. Do these cars have reverse sensing systems that alert the driver? That is, do they make an audible alert to the driver when there's an object in the car's reverse path? (For example, if there's a car that's moving quickly across your path while you're reversing out of the parking space, will you be alerted?) 2. Do these cars make a loud annoying beeping sound to the outside environment while they're in reverse? (If so, can it be turned off?) 3. Do these cars have default settings that alarm you when you're crossing over a lane or speeding? That is, each time you start the car, do you need to turn off such settings? If the trim level matters to answer the questions, I'm most interested in the 2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige. Thanks in advance. Good video.
1. Yes, with some features the car also stops on its own when it detects any danger. 2. The answer to this will be very subjective. There is reverse chime which is mandated by the law as the vehicle is a hybrid - running on motor on low speed. So it cannot be turned off. 3. You can turn off the lane assist, the alert will go away. The answer applies exactly the same to Sportage as well.
Looking at both right now in California - May 2024. Kia Sportage is available, but there are hidden prices at many of the dealers (up to 3K, if you look closely for 2 items mainly Alds-stargard and paint/fabric protection). Because of this hidden fees I refused to go with Sportage, although interior is superior to the one of Hyundai. Hyundai Tuscon - 2025 is not going to be available for quite a while in Cali. They told me maybe at the end of the year, beginning of next year at least... I need a car now. So I went with dealership discount for Tuscon - plug in hybrid 2023, orginally 48 K, discounted to 38.5 K. Fully loaded, but feels outdated already when you sit in it.... It's a bummer, but what can you do.
When will they move the rear turn signals away from the lower bumper fascia up higher where they should be and is more visible in all driving scenarios?
Hi, I would like to ask regarding rear side lights for Tucsun, which located to low on the rear bumper. It seems that drivers behind you and close to you, when we have traffic jams, they will not have possibility to see if you would like to turning left/right. How do you think, is it a problem for Tucsun owner? Possible car accident in traffic jams.
@@CarSceneKorea please could you share your experience with this vehicle. I mean in terms of reliability of engine, drive transmission, gear box and so on. Because as we know previous generation of this vehicle had a lot of problems with engine 2015-2018yy. Does this generation make improvements for engine, gearbox and so on to receive good quality for not so low price if compare with others?
Thanks. When is Kia Sportage going to change its shape. Also , wished that the video spoke about driving experience and handling differences between both cars. Also if someone wants to buy a car in early 2025, which one would have its shape not changed for longer period to avoid buying the car then they change its shape the following year. Thanks
It appears the Tuscon is only just catching up to the Kia. Not convinced it has surpassed it. I have the 2023 Kia sportage hybrid & have had no issues and no plans to upgrade yet but can't wait to see how the new sportage will look considering how nice the current 1 is
Thank you for your review, I’ve been trying to decide which of these two cars is the better option. This videos take a lot of detail and work, so here is a small token of appreciation.
You are most welcome. I'm glad my video could be helpful in deciding on the best vehicle for my viewers. Appreciate the support!🥳
Glad you like it! 👍
Junk doesn’t means they are bad to drive or uncomfortable but it means they are not reliable and have so many problems after 2 3 years
I agree, I traded in my 2020 Honda CR-V for 2024 Sportage SX & I adore it!
had a Toyota RAV4 prior to Honda & I am still very Happy with my choice.
KIA's have come a long way, all around.
Im thinking of getting one too but maybe the base trim or middle. This comment is helping.
My friend owned an earlier model Sportage and said never again. However, they sure might have put more quality n care back into newer models we see today.
I took delivery of a Sportage SX Prestige HEV 4 weeks ago. Love it so far. Amazing tech, quiet, great driving experience. Waited 355 days for it.
Nearly a year wow 🤯
Thanks for sharing, that dealership experience surely is a huge factor when choosing your car.
I’ve today ordered a MY2025 Tucson Hybrid Ultimate in Abyss Black and I cannot wait! Dealer told me should be here early November woop woop!!!! 😎
Congrats, you will love it!
I'll receive my KIA Sportage HEV GT Line (experience green) end of May after waiting 8 month. I'm so excited!
Congrats, feel free to come back and tell me how you like it!

Darn it, I was considering buying a 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid soon, and now the 2025 Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid interior looks really nice!
I was going to buy a Sportage too, but I didn't like the service given by the car salesman on Sportage's side, so I ended up signing a Tucson. I prefer Tucson now.
Decisions and decisions 😂
The 2025 Sportage are at dealer lots now as well.

Thanks
Same in India considering tailgating
For Greece it's the same with tailgating... I think it's my only con I find in the Tucson.
Thanks for sharing. There's no excuse about that rear turn signals indeed. Can't believe they made it even lower with the facelift 🥲
@@CarSceneKoreaexactly, knowing that the sister company has the Sportage that shares many of the parts, it’s just crazy
Cant' wait to see what the facelift has for us in the store next!
Thanks for sharing, glad you like it! 👍
Thanks for sharing. Glad seeing many enjoying their Sportage and Tucson :)
They should at least offer the second acoustic glass as an option on the Tucson.
That is for the next all-new model it seems.
Really fantastic review!
Test drove both the Sportage Hybrid GT line and Tucson Hybrid Premium today. A few key differences that I noticed:-
1) Tucson Hybrid is AWD vs Sportage Hybrid that is FWD only.
2) HUD - only on Tucson
3) Paddle-shifters can be used to increase/decrease regen (very useful for one pedal driving similar to EV)
4) Hyundai has updated Tech Operating system
Styling wise - I still think Sportage is just so much more cooler but it’s a personal preference.
On point! Was there anything out of the review that didn’t resonate with you as you test drove the two?
I would say I didn’t immediately pick up on the blind spot point when I was driving both cars. But now that you’ve pointed it out in the review, I can see it certainly makes a difference.
If only they released an updated Sportage Hybrid AWD option with a similar spec to the latest Tucson - sadly I can’t wait around for the refresh next year!
Question: if you had to pick between a 2022/23 used Genesis GV70 and a brand new Tucson hybrid premium, what would you recommend?
Hi I have the Honda zr-v sports and its a great car but I'll be looking at this one when my lease runs out. great vid dude.
Cheers!
Thanks for sharing, makes sense completely!
Sportage is such a great cost effective choice for the people whos living in super big city like Guangzhou,Seoul.I had a try on the
2021 Sportage 2.0T edition last week and i do like its feeling and im also planning to order one later❤thanks for sharing
Couldn't agree more!
Thanks for sharing! You will love it 🥰
Yea my friend I like Kia cars a lot, see them all over the road here in US. 😉
Thanks for the comment, I'm humbled :) You will love SF. I honestly think it is one of the best cars from HMG at the moment.
Great to hear! Enjoy your Tucson 🤩
Waiting on my 25 Tucson hybrid to arrive in Texas. Shame they were delayed b it I’m sure worth the wait! Should be here November
When will you get a look at the 2025 Sportage hybrid? I was about to buy a 2024. Just wondering if I should wait for the 2025 model depending on what changes they are making!
It's not out yet, I will do so asap.
about 6/15 ,usa
I bought my 23 SXP HEV in June 2022. I looked at the Hyundai but the Kia had a much nicer interior. 40k miles so far and no problems. I love it.
I've only met happy Sportage owners :)
Great back to back review. One of the most insightful videos I’ve seen on these two cousins.
I appreciate that! Glad you like it! 👍
In the UK, Kia only offer 36 months finance on non-EV models. Hyundai offer 48 months on all models, so it's doesn't break the bank each month. That's why the Tucson is being bought this month!
Thanks I didn’t know this
GO SPORTAGE!!! Bob here yes, I'm biased I work for Liberty KIA in NJ!
Let's go💪
Regarding the flashing device, it is not a matter of light but a matter of cost.
Thanks for the comment! I'm very looking forward to the next Sportage facelift indeed.
I got a 2024 Tuscon Ultimate, we love it and got it because of all the features and the look. Never tested the Kia but I still would have bought the Hyundai. Great power too!
Good choice! Thanks for sharing.
Hyundai and Kia are both Korean trademarks, which belong to one company. Originally, Kia was separate, but Hyundai merged in the 90s
Thank you for this comparison!. Tucson HEV for me, as i prefer the look.
Good choice!
Excellent review! I love both vehicles.
My wife and I drive a Tucson. She has a ‘22 and I have a ‘23. The updates made to the facelift ‘25 make it an even better vehicle to own!
Indeed. The interior is super!
Agreed! 💯
I purchased the Tuscon because of the mechanical reliability was better based on some reviews and comments. Mechanical reliability was the most important factor for me.
Great choice!
thank you !! Great video
Personally prefer the Tucson for its exterior styling. The rear light bar is a big plus.
I have a 2022 Hyundai Tuscon hybrid and love everything about it. However, the new facelift for 2025 may be enough for me to upgrade. The main complaint i have for Tuscon hybrid is the lack of cool colors available.
I got the 2022 Tuscon because the Sportage facelift wasn't available when i got the car (close but not yet available)
When is the Sportage getting a facelift? Need to know if i should go for the 2025 Tuscon facelift or if a Sportage facelift is coming out soon.
It should be around the corner, but given the time it would take to make overseas deliveries, I'd say it won't be available for good 3 to 6 months from now on.
@@CarSceneKorea The 2025 Tucson hybrid has everything that the 2022-24 version are sorely lacking plus it has a touch of design from the upgraded santa fe interior. I am totally getting it!
I drive a 2023 santa fe hybrid. I love it but it's heavier on gas.
I'm Indian but nice review...
I've been watching videos for the last 6 months, and I'm still pretty sure that I'll go for the Sportage. I've been waiting for the 2025 to come out, and I'm glad that it looks like there is an increase in mpg.
Both great cars indeed.
Thought I left this comment 👍
kia sportage the best for sure ❤
I'm driving a facelifted Tucson straight from Korea. My two comments are: 1. The braking system is quite soft; 2. its turning radius is quite low.
Thanks for the feedback. I do agree with you :)
Tucson hands down my friend!
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks for the input! Im heavily considering it. If i don't end up getting a compact SUV, then I might go for the new 2025 Kia K4 we're getting (GT trim), or the new 2025 Elantra N.
K4 looks real nice. We don't get that in Korea😭 at least for now.
Any mechanical issues with either Sportage or Tucson? Seen a few RUclips videos comparing them to Toyota and stressed mileage lower and differences in hybrid system. Any comments on cost of ownership? Thank you
HMG is quite reliable shown by numbers and facts :)
@@jutjubkom123 try both of them, personally I prefer Kia Sportage, I think is very good looking and really smooth.
Tucson is slightly better in many ways due to the car’s late debut compared to Sportage, however, Sportage is just as great as well. Decisions!😭
Go through my comment sections, you will see how real Hyundai / Kia owners feel about their cars :)
I chose Kia Sportage when I bought mine because I prefer the Kia design language.
Is the New Sportage going to come in awd as to me that is one thing that disappoints me in the Sportage compared to the Tucson, i am talking sbout in Australia
Thank you very much for your earlier test, greetings from Poland.
I just ordered a Tucson FL Platinum 4wd hybrid + sun.
Congrats, great choice! 🇵🇱
i drive kia sportage hev 2023 version reason i choose sportage over tucsoin is all because of design.
Couldn't agree more.
Any info on when then Sportage facelift will happen?
Sportage facelift being spotted here in Korea under camo, won't be long!
Thanks for sharing! N-Line indeed is a great looking version, makes Tucson's design stand out even more!
I see, so I assume Sportage is more favored in Romania?
Hello , nice video … for Hybrid model 230 , what are difference between these 2 cars : tank capacity and autonomy ? Thanks 😮
How to get inbuilt central digital mirror in tuscon ? Also does tuscon has a dashcam?thanks for great review
Tucson does not offer DCM: Digital Center Mirror. You can get built-in cam 2, which might not be available depending on the market.
Great video!
You know your stuff
Thanks for the info, take care, 🙏🏼
Glad you like it! 👍
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
No one would argue that Tucson is one of the most spacious SUVs in the category!
very interesting to see Korea. looks like Arizona.
I am in the process of deciding between the 2025 Tucson hybrid and the Sportage hybrid both in the highest trim packages. I would like to know if either has the stop/start technology and if so can it be overridden so that it doesn’t work.
KiA disigns looking great
The new designs are 🔥
I'm not sure if it is just my neighborhood or not, but I am inclining more to purchase Tucson over Sportage because of a financing option offering a lower APR close to 0. I love to get Sportage, but 7.5% vs. 0% seems pretty significant to me.
That's a big difference, I'd go for the lower APR too!
Different markets do get different options indeed. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks
I went with Qashqai due too lack of Head Up display and huge price difference for top versions here, near 10k euro now imagine when facelift comes their prices will hit the roof!
have you had a annalistic drive in the ssanyong Torres 4 please ?
Can your rview compair Tossun 2025 with Cx-5 2025 the quality and spec design?
Sorry, we don't get Mazda here in Korea so that'd be tough.
Your videos are amazing
Thank you so much 😀
How is KiA and Hyundai dealing with the Oil Dilution issue on Hybrids and Plugins ?
Is there a difference in the display speed or overall speed of the facelift media center and the old one? I plan to buy a Sportage PHEV here in Hungary next months.
Sure, ccNC is the latest display from Hyundai and is fastest with loaded tech.
I drive a 2023 Kia Sportage hybrid because the ride is more smooth then the Hyundai Tucson hybrid it was also a little cheaper and has same tech. To me it's more quiet for the Sportage.
That most likely was the case with the pre-facelift Tucson comparing it to that of the Sportage hybrid, indeed.
What’s the news on 2025 Kia sportage hybrid? And for North America
Given the facelift being just around the corner, it ought to debut together.
Hello there,
I think it is also some difference around the sound absorption within the vehicle because your mic sounds different between the KIA and the Hyundai but maybe it is related due to mic placement,
If you did notice that, props! The mic was actually placed precisely the same position since I use wireless mic, didn't move it at all between two test drives. Used same video gear to record, so it could be the different driving course, but other than that, the difference we get from the video is real and raw.
Question. I have the 24 kia sportage hybrid. Will there be a software update to have the wireless android auto/car play?
Nope, the current Sportage does not have ccNC, therefore it is not possible.
@@xmak1114 Let's hope that my dealer is right :)
@@grasho YES PLEASE 😁😁
I’m about to get an Hyundai Tuscon 2024 in Prague on Tuesday. Since the new facelift will soon be ready in Czech Republic. I think it’s worth waiting for ?
Though I prefer the current iteration of the Tucson interior from a design perspective, I also like the capacitive buttons for the sleek look and there as there are no crevices to collect dust or dirt. Either way, I think the new look is still cleaner than the Sportage and has a few functional advantages. The Tucson outsells the Sportage here in the US, but it will even more so now.
On point, love hearing these detailed thoughts from my viewers :) Thanks!
If choosing a hybrid in Korea, which would be better between the RAV4 and Tucson?
Korean brands have a lot of advantages over import cars for the obvious reason when you are physically in Korea.
No BOSE on N-Line where you are? 😭
@@CarSceneKorea Nope not in the UK 👎
N-Line's supposed get all the goodies...hmm 🧐
Yesterday I took Sportage for a test drive. Unfortunately it doesn't have double laminated glass on swedish market and there is lots of wind noise from 110km/h But I was actually blowed away how good suspension is on the gt line and how little road noise it generates. On the same day I tested also Lexus NX 350h without adaptive suspension. The Kia had better suspension, especially on the bad roads. I was extremely surprised how good this car is. I just hope they will fix the wind noise.
Was it a hybrid? Hybrid adds extra ride quality using the techs from the motor too!
Precisely. HMG has come a very long way.
I like Tucson interior more.
I wish to have a wireless Android update on my 2022 Santa Fe to keep it for 2 more years :)
That shifter on the stalk is getting a lot of use.
I have a bad back - is there a difference in the seating comfort??
I wouldn’t say they are the same, but the difference is negligible.
Which of these 2 vehicles have better regen braking, that is slows down faster at the highest regen setting?
Didn't notice much difference tbh.
Does The 2025 Tucson Hybrid have a spare tire? I originally got it because of the Front Facia, looked Better 😊. I'm going to wait for 6 months for a New version.
No for Korea, domestic market, but will be for selected markets.
Tucson is being sold more in Turkey but the waiting time is like crazy. I cannot think of it with the new facelift version.
Hope it'd be getter over time!
Hi.
(For example, if there's a car that's moving quickly across your path while you're reversing out of the parking space, will you be alerted?)
2. Do these cars make a loud annoying beeping sound to the outside environment while they're in reverse? (If so, can it be turned off?)
PHEV is the best that HMG's got to offer, which Korea never got! Great car you have ;)
Smart mode or exo mode for the best fuel economy?
Simple answer to this would be the Eco mode. Smart will change drive modes accordingly.
When will they move the rear turn signals away from the lower bumper fascia up higher where they should be and is more visible in all driving scenarios?
Recent GV70 Facelift got it, but not with Tucson unfortunately. Perhaps next all-new model 😭
That issue has been addressed and is well aware of it. Sure do hope it will change within the next all new model.
Thanks
Kia Sportage facelift is just around the corner.
@@CarSceneKorea thanks
@@CarSceneKorea thanks a lot for the info 👍
It appears the Tuscon is only just catching up to the Kia. Not convinced it has surpassed it. I have the 2023 Kia sportage hybrid & have had no issues and no plans to upgrade yet but can't wait to see how the new sportage will look considering how nice the current 1 is
Very similar to what I thought at the end of the video test driving the two :)
Does Hyundai Kia still have engine issues?
