i dont see invoice for kia or hyundai , could you update them ?
my spouse and i went to the chicago auto show because we wanted to see both cars. going in, we preferred the Sorento because of the exterior design, which we still love. but we ended loving the interior of the Santa Fe and find it's more practical for our needs.
I was looking at these two for myself, decided on the 2024 Santa Fe and I'm so happy! Got the base model, which only misses a few minor features. Love my Santa Fe!
thire car broke.
DCT broke twice.
its a hyundai cars.
just got my new 2024 Kia Sorento yesterday and I love it
Was waiting for this video. Good job fellas
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice review guys, looking forward to more comparisons for midsize suv’s.
Hyundai and Kia killing it they both look great
Oh my god
We will see about the reliability
They put so much money into THE DESIGNS........cause they make shitty vehicles......
@@user-wz7qt8tj2w True.....thats the only thing can lure the buyers.........
The Santa Fe last year had average reliability. @@ZachD-lh5so
I’m picking up a 2024 Santa Fe tomorrow! I’ve been eyeballing it since late summer and was able to see several of them in South Korea in January. I just PRAY that I don’t have any transmission problems.
Did you take delivery of your Santa Fe? If so, how do you like it? I have a 2022 Limited and love it. I'll admit, I was not a fan initially, of the boxy redesign. However, it's growing on me, and I'll definitely go test drive one when my dealer gets them.
I would go for the Santa Fe the design overall appeals to me.
Drew you give the best fit, finish and handfeel. Sante fe cause I like boxed out design.
The 2024 Santa Fe might be the best car Hyundai ever made design wise.
wdym? that looks exactly like what a car only american would love 😄
@j.p.4199 im not an American and i love it.
I don't only mean the looks, but the functionality of design is great.
Agreed... It's a bummer that they didn't put that effort into the transmission though. Such a shame to have a beautiful vehicle with a transmission that seems take an immediate nose dive. For some people, it's been within hours of driving it.
Even with the rear design?
Youre mad that our country is better @j.p.4199
This one is tough, they both look awesome and that 2.5l turbo is sweet. I like that the Sorento has less body roll. The Santa Fe interior looks more premium. I dont know, but either way it’s a win.
I appreciate this unbiased comparison. I prefer the hybrid powertrain. Both offer an incredible value and features. Both are a sharp design, but my personal pick is the Kia Sorrento. I look to purchase one after the hybrid set up makes it into the new redesign. Great Review, Guys!
My perfect Santa Fe would be: army green hybrid AWD calligraphy with tan interior. I’d swap out the calligraphy wheels for those XRT ones though.
Thank you for your reviews.
Our pleasure!
Great video fellas
I think the steering mounted gear shifter is better than the button one they had before.
Hi @CarConfections guys, thank you for your gr8 videos. May I have a question regarding Santa Fe, how does DAW assistant performs, when driver wears a sunglasses?
Thanks! It hasn't bothered us any yet, with or without sunglasses
I would pick the Santa Fe
Santa Fe interior Sorento exterior
🤮🤮🤮
For sure!
I would get a toyota
@@ZachD-lh5soToyota is junky
I have a 2022 Santa Fe XRT & I couldn't be happier with the ride quality. It's not the 2.5L Turbo but with the 8 speed, provides more than enough power to the front wheels & it's so quiet, even with the roof rails. I don't have the panoramic or moon roof which adds to the quietness. If the 2024 Santa Fe is the equivalent, I will definitely choose it over the Sorrento. My 2013 2.0t Santa Fe was the fastest suv but it also didn't have the same stability as my 2022. Thanks for an excellent comparison & I will definitely go with the 2024 Santa Fe but not until 2026. I never buy the first year model change but with the power plant of the 2.5L remaining the same, most likely this 2024 will come with fewer issues than say the Tuscon back in 2016.
Full stop! 27 miles & transmission replacement, omg. Can't wait to hear more. So sorry!
I have the Santa Fe Calligraphy and absolutely love it. I've waited over a year for it. Almost pulled the trigger on the Palisade last year, till I found out they were redesigning the Santa Fe for 2024. I'm so glad I waited.
I like the extra storage underneath on the Santa Fe. You can put a big box of Kleenex there, which is important to me since I have chronic allergies.
Safety is the most important to me, then space. The fancy interior is all subjective. As long as it tells me the speed, plays my music and helps me to stay hands free I’m good. My top picks would be a Subaru Forester, Rav 4 and Volkswagen Atlas sport
Thanks for keeping videos under 20 min. Some youtubers don’t understand that 30-40+ min of details are not needed.
For those with the capacity to maintain attention for longer than 15 to 20 minutes, a 30 to 40 minute video doesn’t fall under “excessive“. Maybe you have TikTok brain 🧐
@@isimonsezor maybe some people don’t have all the time in the world to watch a RUclips review? Maybe you need to be a bit more mindful of other people’s opinions
Foldable mirrors should be a scoring item as well. I also think clarifying in the video title itself the models in question would be nice.
Power folding mirrors are available on both in higher specs
My ONLY issue with the Santa Fe is the rear revokes a dog with it's tail between it's legs. Save that, i LOVE it!!
I don’t think you can go wrong with either the Santa Fe or the Sorrento. They’re both excellent choices and, in my opinion, the final choice comes down to styling (which is subjective) and minor content features for each vehicle. Great comparison review guys!
Thanks!
For us here in Australia I took the sorento GT diesel. It is comes with frequency dampers that give it very damped and well toned ride
We had a 2017 Sorrento SX and it was a nice vehicle. If they’d do a total makeover in a boxy shape we’d seriously look at that along with this Santa Fe. The current Sorrento refresh isn’t enough of a change for us and considering a hybrid which is only on the pre-refresh, not coming until 2025 which will look like a dated model by then. Would love to see an updated Telluride in a hybrid version!
Decisions...Decisions...That Sorento looks very good in that color!
usually prefer hyundai versus kia, but i actually prefer the sorento and the sportage to the santa fe and tucson
I've been looking at both so I will show my husband this video...but I'm leaning towards the Santa Fe Calligraphy...I wish I knew of the two of you before I purchased our son's car.
I noticed the site to find new car price quotes works on your vlog, but in actual practice, I just spent several minutes and it keeps saying error, or no dealer in your area or some other problem. You need to work on that.
I know they are siblings but are they actually on the same platform?? Or is the new Santa Fe a year ahead?
Since I already have the 2019 model, I'm going with the Santa Fe
Great video guys 👍 want to know if you could do some interior dimensions comparisons 🤔 overall , I think the Santa Fe would be bigger inside 🤔🤔
Guys , you did a great job on this video 👍 I love both of them 😀 on the outside , style-wise , the Sorrento wins , but I'm more of a practical kind of guy , and I love the front and the side view of the Santa Fe , plus , what really wins me over , is the interior space and functionality of the Santa Fe 🤗😁 so for me , my pic is the Santa Fe ☺️😎🙏
Thank you!
Great video! I will take the Santa Fe for bigger space and its remote smart parking assist (Limited trim). Sorento does have smart parking assist yet.
Thanks!
You guys are the best ❤❤❤❤🎉
Thank you!
Nice !
Guys, i'm dying to know, seeing all these issues with transmissions, and your new Santa Fe, do you have any update yet? It's such a sweet looking car, but i'm freaking out, cause I want a new Santa Fe. Appreciate it.
We have an updated video coming tomorrow!
I'm so glad you'll did this comparison - it was definitely needed before I make a purchase. I am NOT a fan of the more box style of Hyundai; however, it seems to rate pretty high in everything else so I may can look pass how exterior looks. I do wish however the Hyundai had the larger sunroof AND the quieter sound level reading. TBH i do not need a 3rd row seat and kind of wish both Kia and Hyundai would not have made these mid-size SUV 3rd row - I may as well purchase the telluride or palisade. Can you do a comparison of those two? Overall Hyundai is definitely 'spacious' and a little less costly and has seemingly better features. Based upon these two models and trim levels I'd have to pick the Hyundai. Thanks, guys, for the comparison and I'll be looking for a side by side like this video for the telluride and palisade. 🙂
We already have a side by side of the Palisade vs. Telluride on the channel! You should be able to find it under the Comparisons Playlist. Hope it helps!
At first glance i would go for the Santa Fe but now i've seen the 2024 Sorento i prefered this one.
I like both. I like the boxy look of the Santa Fe and that it has third row seating. I like the size, about 190 inches long. So, again I would buy either one. 😀😀❤🧡👍👍👍👍
I drive a 2023 Kia Sorento SX Prestige in sapphire blue and it’s a gorgeous car I wanted to get the updated model next year but the sapphire blue is no more
I have a neighbor that has a 2022 sapphire blue Kia Sorento and the the transmission came out last year..😮.. I have been seeing on the internet that they have had a lot of issues with their transmissions.. That is typical with their dual clutch.. many of them shift hard as well .
There’s a new blue for 24 but Sapphire blue is definitely a pretty color
No reason to get in debt if you have a 23. Wait for another 3 years a refresh might happen
I bought Santa fe❤
I own a 2021 Sorento but am thinking of switching for all the reasons you listed but mainly the complimentary maintenance. Come on Kia would it kill you to offer maintenance.
I like the Sorento. I’m just afraid of the dual clutch transmission.
I m going to buy mid level santa fe due to its boxy style and luggage space. I m still waiting in UAE as of now its not available
@CarConfections One thing that was missed in this video is that the 2024 Santa Fe comes standard with the 2.5 L Turbo while you have to get a mid trim level on the Sorento to get this same engine. Lower trim Sorentos get a wimpy non-turbo engine.
That is correct
Great review and a comparison. I assume the exterior look will be the decision when finally choosing one. Women probably will go for Sorento and men for Santa Fe
As a current Palisade owner. If I were to choose and want something a bit smaller, the Santa Fe would win hands down. So much more for the money. A bit more stylish, a 1 decibel level less and fog lamps do not justify an over $1000.00 difference in price. The shift lever makes more sense.
Hi. Great Video
Any on a 2023 GMC Acadia?
Santa Fe @ 40k is a hard pass. In mid 2021 I paid 29k for AWD SEL.
I’d go with the Kia. But I’m biased lol I just like their design language much more. Both still great.
I should be picking up a new Santa Fe in the next few days.
You are going to love it. Picked mine up on Thurs. All black XRT. Love it.
Congrats!
Everything about the Santa Fe is top shelf, i remember when I first saw it on the road first, I questioned what was it, who made it then I thought it was an electric car? anyway after seeing it in your video, I have to say the only thing that follows me and this is because I don’t know if I’m gonna buy it or not because of this one thing the shifter. Everything else about the car a great but the shifter is a game changer.
Santa Fe is a winner, love that vehicle.
Awesome SUVs
Santa Fe for me
Santa Fe Calligraphy future hybrid, in the bronze exterior, vs anything! .. unless you really crave power
Excellent comparison, I’d pick the Sorento!
Great value....if you like broken transmissions....look it up.

Sorento looks better from the outside but Santa Fe has a miles better interior. I liked the old Sorento and thought about buying a '23 top trim but decided I'll wait on a deal on a Santa Fe limited.
I was waiting for the new Santa Fe. But then I made the mistake of trying out Super Cruise. And now I can only buy a Super Cruise equipped vehicle, which greatly limits my choices, and stretches my budget.
I love Kia Sorneto body design, its front view is perfectly suitable to the overall body and side views are awesome curvy. On the other hand Santafe looks too much boxy shape more similar to land rover defender . Also I personally feel the H-shape led lighting design is not best suitable as headlight in front rather it is good at tail lights.
I’m leaning towards the santa fe
would a 2022 Lexus RX 350 F-Sport with 51k miles on for $41k be a better bet?
Yes a reliable car that will last forever. These kia/hyundai are junk. That engine and dct transmission have so much trouble.
SANTA FE 🔥
In Korea, Sorento has sold more than Santa Fe for the last several years. Currently, Sorento is the best selling in Korea.
These cars are made by the same company with different logos, but the exterior design is different and the interior structure is the same.
The back of the Santa Fe looks like a sprinter van
All I don't like in Santa Fe is that rear, the way the lights they commited is just terrible. I know it serves purpose, but still. I like more Kia's design overall. Thanks forthe comparison. +Sub
I don't see the 3rd row vent in the US version 😮💨. Only the Canadian version got it. US Kia is killing its own Sorento!
Sorento for me. I want that gear lever control that a Dual Clutch offers... not what's in the Santa Fe. Also... For such a long wheelbase vehicle minimum Anti-Roll is important to me. Most KIA vehicles score high there.
I bought the Sorento over the Santa Fe...The Santa Fe was smaller than I thought and the passenger side seating was very narrow, I am an average size guy. I was not impressed as all the hype (You Tube Videos) was pushing. I owned a 2021 Santa Fe so I was again excited but again I was disappointed. On the other hand the Sorento to me had more power, got the 2.5 turbo and the fit and finish to me was just right. I also like the Sorento body style over the boxier Santa fe. Again it seems people either love or hate the new Santa Fe. I wont use the word hate as I was not as impressed as I thought I might be. Also its just me and my wife so we do not need a roomier vehicle as the Santa Fe might offer someone.
Santa fe for me
just won't white on black ink😊
We will see about the reliability of both
I would pick the Hyundai because it’s a better value. Every time I went to Kia to look at their cars, they always had markups, ranging from $2k up to $10k which is insane.
These cars have gotten so expensive, like 4 years ago I could buy a mid trim Palisade at that price.
I would pick the Santa Fe because it got a masculine look and size
Am a Tuscan girl, but waiting to see the Santa fe rather than online to better appreciate the back
Santa Fe looks dope. Too pricey for me though 😕
What in the world is that Santa Fe back? 😂 looks like something straight out of Minecraft
I bought a Santa Fe Hybrid. The Sorrento looks good, but looks like so many other SUVs at first glance. Lexus started the egg shaped concept 20 years ago and most makers are still using the design language,. Hyundai is once again stepping out with a bold look.
BTW. What’s the deal with the shifter critique? It’s completely unobtrusive and works great. People are just looking for something to complain about.
Its going to be cool to see XRT model vs Subaru Outback.
Sorento May 8, 2022 Panorama Roof Seal, Was Sold, Rotten Day 1. Yet 2 Be Fixed 2 Date. Casey Dealer/Collision Connected, Several Pixs, Taken Over & Over 2 No Satisfaction 2 Date. Vehicle Is Great, Sound System Improves With Paid SiriusXM. Blue Paint, Extra $500.00, Step Rails Xtra, Roof Rails Xtra, Power Great. Note: Purchase Hybrid Is Best Choice. 🎉
I think Santa Fe would be my choice just because of extra space and design.
I need these two cars to have a baby together...
Id pick the Sorento
I am taking the Santa Fe
Honestly the rear of the Santa Fe isn’t that bad. People keep complaining about it, but that just seems like internet groupthink
It is bad. And its not groupthink. Its a hearse.
I like the back design, it’s controversial and people talk about it, woo-hooo! Love the boxy shape and practicality as well.
It's hideous. And the low lights are not safe. The interior is beautiful though
It's quite bad😂
Sorento for 100 Alex...Way better looking exterior wise...Sporty and versatile, hate the box look
Apparently the US isn’t getting massage on the calligraphy Santa Fe sadly
Affordable trims? Cost 40k better have good material..
I still think the Sorento is better looking
The prices arent similar. To get the real off road version and 4500 pound tow rating, you have to go from the $42k XRT Santa Fe, to the 50k x-pro Sorento. I need that extra 1000 pounds so it's the Santa Fe for me. I do like the front of the Sorento, but the square back of the Santa Fe.
I like santa fe but i don't like hyundai logo. Hopefully hyundai can change the logo to the modern logo like what kia did.
I pick the sorento
