    In this episode Emelie is away in Sweden, so I make a push to finished the kitchen to surprise her when she returns. This is involved using a circular saw for the very first time and some other interesting details.
    Also in this episode I attempt to install the patio (French) doors for the stable conversion - make sure to watch to the end to see how I get on.
    With all these jobs slowly getting done we are one step closer to restoring this abandoned farmhouse in Italy.
    Our Story:
    We sold our apartment in Stockholm, packed up the car and headed for Piemonte. After a couple of months searching for the right house we came across Our Italian Dream House and immediately made an offer. Four weeks later (just three days before Christmas) we signed the contract and had the keys.
    It's now early 2023 and work on this epic renovation is underway. We are mortgage free and have a very limited budget so plan to take on as much of the renovation ourselves as possible - follow us on our journey as we turn an abandoned Italian farmhouse into our dream home.

    Hi guys, great new video. We always look forward to the new ones coming out.
    Do you find you’re restricted at all in what you’re allowed to do yourself? Are you allowed to do your own plumbing and electrical work if you wanted to or must you employ a local certified person?

    • @OurItalianDreamHouse
      @OurItalianDreamHouse  Год назад +2

      Hi Mark, thank you so much!
      Yes and No. Since we are renovating hoping to get the 50% bonus (which is now closed for people who havent already got their permissions) we have to have professionals doing both plumbing and electrical work so it gets certified. I however think the rules can vary between villages and our village is more strict for sure. I'd highly recommend to follow Not Useless Yet, he's doing All the work himself and has managed to get around the system very well :)

      Good question! We did think about it, there are two reasons why we didn’t - it would have caused placement issues for the dishwasher and sink and it would have also thrown off the symmetry of the kitchen drawers. 😅 Luckily we have lots of other drawers/storage in the kitchen that made sacrificing that space for aesthetics acceptable 😊

      Hi Mia, we managed to find these ones on Facebook marketplace - only €160, can you believe it? Maybe worth having a look on there for your renovation, since the 110 bonus it seems like there are a lot of old ones in good condition on there (in this area at least). Best of luck with the renovation 😁

    In America we call the wood used to fill spaces between caninets/walls "fillers". But I'm wondering why you did not use a blind cabinet. Perhaps it's called something else in Europe but blind cabinets are installed in a corner where two cabinet runs meet, and a portion of the cabinet is hidden by the one adjacent to it. The hidden section serves as storage without giving up space in a corner. Google has pics.
