  • Glassing an 8'10 custom order fabric cloth inlay surfboard start to finish. Board is based of a 70s singlefin outline with widepoint fairly far forward but has the flatter deck and down rails of that of an 80s style twin fin. The underside has a triplane surface - concave with chined rails then to double and vee towards the tail.

    Beautiful board. Nice for me to see as I'm planing to do my bathroom counter in epoxy over a plaid fabric. Nice to see someone good doing it first. Thanks.

      @@windfoil1000 thanks, sounds like a great project. Suppose you could laminate it on a layer of plywood. I would probably put 2 layers of fiberglass over it still to give it some strength and then could pour a thicker layer of clear casting resin to polish back into. Let us know how it goes!

      Thanks. Yeah adds a little extra weight aswell but with alot of longer boards weight gives a smoother ride.

    Very nice! What is that stringer? Some serious dark wood or something else?

    • @electrofishsurfboards
      @electrofishsurfboards  3 дня назад +1

      @@Mongiloyd thanks. This is actually just pinlined black ontop of the ply stringer. I do work with alot of darkwood stringers but they are around £100 extra to purchase so most customers just opt for the pinlined ply.

    That is superb! Whats the ball park figure for a custom job like this?

      Thanks. There are alot of variables like blank type, gloss/matt ect but this would be around £950

    A question. Do you ever put fabric on the deck of a board, or is it only applied to the bottom? Thank you.😊

    • @electrofishsurfboards
      @electrofishsurfboards  3 дня назад

      @@PaulClifton-kj8yi Hey Paul, it can go on the deck. I suppose most opt for it on the bottom where it won't get covered in a layer of wax. I have also seen fabric deck inlays on older boards and they tend to be more prone to delaminate on the deck. I think this depends on how well they are laminated alot though. Thanks
