Jeff Avenue it’s okay! If you see the lyrics of the song it’s just amazing as their choreography and everything about them. And how they’re saying “thank you” isn’t just enough to say how thankful they are to their fans for standing by them :))

The main part of the song that you mentioned was actually consisted of Woozi, DK, and Seungkwan. You were right the first time haha. Just remember Woozi has a very light voice when he sings high notes, kinda feminine, not even in falsetto. Hoshi's voice is raspier and stronger. The first trio can be considered the powerhouse of seventeen bc of their vocal skills. You'll know when you react to "Home".
    *Point dances and choreo explanations:*
3:57 whenever they touch their arms with their hands, that means "thanks" but they make it look more graceful for the choreo. It repeats in the second verse. And in the same segment, every time they pop up while doing the "thanks", they form T H X consecutively and you can see it from above if you are at their concerts or so.
5:42 they form the flowers and in the lyrics they talk about something along the line of "choosing their words", and here they fail to pick the petals (words) which means they don't know what to say.
8:12 every time they hook their pinkies together, it means "promise". They do it throughout the whole choreo when the chorus comes, at the beginning and at the end when they sit. If you notice, the choreo also starts and ends in the same way, where they sit with their pinkies hooked.
*Fun fact:* During that time, almost everyone was so busy that Woozi wrote the song himself (even the raps as the hip hop line was too busy to write their own raps), you can find his guide version of "thanks" on youtube. They also put a song called "Run to You" which he wrote bc he was bored in the same album, they also showed the guide ver in the same day as "thanks", it's a vocal only song but it's really good so I suggest checking it out when you're free. For choreo, they actually filmed the mv with an incomplete choreo, it was different from the final ver you see in the rehearsal. Hoshi was actually unsatisfied with it, that he couldn't make a proper choreo.

    Sign Language Parts:
3:57 the motion they do with their hands is the sign language for “thanks”
6:32 the formation that they did from an upward view is suppose to look like “T H X”
9:48 at the end of the dance, they make a sign language with their hands which means “promise”
Thank you for reacting to seventeen! I always get so excited for it ❤️❤️

the sign language of thanks in korean also happened at 6:33 and fun fact, about the "gomapta" that they repeat 3 times.. and the formation for each gomapta is in a form of T, H and X which mean Thanks.. and also this song is about how they show their gratitude for their fans.. like how thankful they are when we accept them for who they are..and the scene from the video where they meet up for discussing about the song, the scene in recording room, the scene in the practice room and also the scene in makeup room.. all of that scenes shows how they work together to create a songs.. all of the scenes was the usual scene that happen between them..on how they creat their own song, create their own dance and everything...yeah thats all the rant from me😂😂 and thank you again for having seventeen💞💞 i cannot wait for more seventeen video in future😌😌 thank you so much again🥰🥰

“I did not understand a single word but I understand the emotion in the song” that’s the power of kpop, weather you know what the song is about or not, weather you know the lyrics of the song or not, weather you know the story behind the song or not, you feel it. It just has a strong feel. The dances are also amazing. This is what actually got me into kpop. I was a six year old kid who was abused and had no where to go. I listened to Big Bang’s haru haru and I fell into that hole. Kpop is now my escape. I learned happiness through kpop. I’m so glad that I’m a part of this family and I’m so happy to be called a kpop stan. Those idols are amazing and I hope they know that.

This song was made for Carats to say thanks. In the MV showed that they’re writing music & producing it and putting makeup on. Also in the MV, there’s different choreography. They changed it bc someone told them that one of the moves looked like they going “Super Saiyan” so they changed it. They chose Jun to do the solo dance bc he looked cool the most doing it.
The part where DK says “Thank You” repeatedly they do the sign language for Thanks. Also at the end they do sign language for Promise. (Also u were right with the other sign language for promise).
They also do a formation which u can only see from aerial view when they make the formation that spells T-H-X. 😊

There are many amazing dancers in the K-Pop industry, but what makes me really proud of Seventeen is that they are BY FAR the group with the most lyrical choreography. My appreciation for the performance always increases tenfold after I understand what they sing and dance about. I think it is also a perk of being a self-producing group; I bet Hoshi starts "sketching" the choreography as soon as Woozi lets him hear a song's demo, instead of brainstorming from scratch with the choreography team.

They wanted to express their pure and genuine thankfulness to carats for being by their side after all this time, and for supporting them. This song wasn’t just an ‘I love you’ it was a pure, unadulterated ‘Thank you’ You should seriously check out the lyrics, they’re really beautiful and so full of meaning, and they really hits carats’ hearts.

The lyrics may make you think that someone was lost or gone but this is the boys gift to Carats. I'd like to interpret that it wants to express the regret of not knowing better and so wasted much time not recognizing how special the love and memories there were but now that they know how special the bond is, they'll be saying thank you forever and not gonna take it for granted anymore.

This song feels so personal to me as a carat and I feel like there are a lot of emotions put into this choreography. It’s also happens to be my favourite choreo from them. When I saw the choreo for Fallin’ Flower, I was excited because it reminded me of Thanks.

Seeing Jeff slipping into the diamond life is so touching, Seventeen is a group that has gone through a lot both as a group and with dealing with their company and they are easily one of the groups that got recognition not too long after their debut because they have worked on their music since the beginning and that is one of the things people know well about them. Easily one of the best kpop groups ever.

Watch Seventeen debut year song and dance in 2015 Adore U and Mansae! Even since 5 years ago SVT still synchronize and give best performance.
For musical version dance you can see Seventeen Pretty U. And also Snap Shoot is one of a kind.
If you wanna see some dance props like SVT Very Nice, member wear suspender as one of the dance point, and SVT Boom Boom use jacket/bomber as a dance point.
Don't forget Home, SVT Triple Axel, more sexy like Good To Me and Crazy In Love

Seventeen is a really crackhead group. There are many other funny variety shows they were on other than Knowing Brothers.. like Weekly Idol especially ep 308. I got to know them more in that episode because it includes each member’ profile check (like getting to know facts). Also, they did “Don’t Wanna Cry -2x speed” version there. It was amazing. Hope you can check that out too.

THANKS is my absolute favorite in terms of choreography, song and music video! Choreography because it's so creative.. and the imagery they create is so beautiful.. Song is beautiful because of the lyrics and the meaning.. Music video because it sort of depicts their real life.. making music, making lyrics, choreography, music shows, make up, dance practice.. tired at the end of the day.. it's just wow

i agree with you in how versatile they are. it truly baffled me how they have tried almost every single genre and still successfully pulled it off especially when svt is actually popular for their bright and funky songs, which you haven't yet seen. i feel like you'd be surprise to see their earlier dances when they were still young and new, because they were just as good. anyway, great reaction as always and yay you recognize dino!

Bruh, if that wasn't me XD Thank you for this video, and thank you for appreciating Seungkwan. That got me a little bit teary because back then, before they became so well-known, only a few carats appreciate him just because he ain't that visually impressive back then. But right now, many people learn to appreciate him, his vocals, his funny side, his overall beauty, and that makes my heart flutter. Really love your videos. Thanks~

thanks for reacting!! it's cool how you made the reference to the hs dance team competitions, bc hoshi formed his own dance team in hs and performed competitively (won competition(s?) and got casted while competing I think), and then he also likes watching dance competition videos too as inspiration! And since this song is called thanks (for us fans) many of those set locations are showing where they usually practice or come up with ideas to create everything for us (makeup room, dancing rooms, recording rooms etc.)

  • @jkiddin10

i love how happy he looks when he can point out which member is who while watching vidoes like thats such a whole mood when i was learning their names wait until he can recognize just their voices then its 100% carat
ALSO: This song is supposed to be about thanking the fans and those who've supported them on their journey to achieve what they have now and the video shows us what its like to be a part of SVT's creative process. It shows them writing lyrics, recording and arranging their music. From the rehearsal room and choreography making and when they finally person the makeup/backstage. Throughout the MV it shows them from the perspective of us looking from outside in then bringing us into the same area ("room") as them. overall great directing behind the entire MV

    Love seventeen because:
    - their music just hit me.. i think just seventeen in kpop group which make me not only love their title track but the whole album..and not only 1 album..but all album..that crazy right?
    - their lyric always so beautiful and meaningfull..not just lyric..but sometime like poetry for me
    - their choreo always lyrical and theatrical for their song...they always pay attention to small detail in their movement..they always use all angle..so i never bored with their performance..n they never stuck in one style of dance..love their hardwork..
    - 3 unit (vocal, performance, hiphop) that all of them so good in their field..but they can make a sub unit with anyone of them without being block or bounded from their real unit..they do cover each other just like whatever they want it..they just so free..and i like it..
    - they're 13 people but i never getting bored or disturbed with their number because they make it like one..sometimes i forget that they have so many member..
    - their variety skill and creativity in make a content (like going seventeen) always blow my mind
    - no hole in their visual..but that is not my first point to stand them
Seventeen is perfect group for me to stand...Love this group so much..
"Thanks" is my favorite song forever..

Wow I just get to know you today by an accidental click, and I never regret it.
The way you explain about seventeen was exactly what I was thinking back then, when I got to know them...
It was hard to put it simply, and I can understand whatever you're trying to say.
Especially when you said "I don't understand a single word, but somehow I'm affected"
That's soo true, and I never regret become a carat too.. because svt makes me happy and sad with every releases. They are one of the best performer.
I'm soo glad that you appreciate them this much...
I hope you'll love seventeen even more in the future!
I hope you get to see their concert too one day, because it's just awesome!

The twitching and kneeling in the 'gomabda, gomabda , do gomabda' spell T, H, X, it's made for the people that get tickets high above, so they can get the message of the sign language but from afar. Please watch MY I by Jun and THE8, you'll love it!
Also, the falsetto-head mix that Minghao does in the second chorus is one of my absolute favorite things from this song. It always seems so emotional it makes me emotional.
Also, this MV represents the stages of making a song! Composing, recording, choreographing, makeup. It's a song to thank Carats. Also, this was SVT's fastest fanchant until Getting Closer came and snatched and KEPT the crown.
Also! I haven't seen anyone recomend it yet and I just realized; please watch SVT's performance unit's Highlight and ESPECIALLY Lilili Yabbay, they're stunning.

Thanks ends with the members holding up their right pinky fingers. If you notice, they're all wearing rings, and holding their fingers displays these rings. These are their rings that bind them as a group (once even being taken away as punishment by their staff before they debuted to push them harder) and seriously mean a lot to Seventeen and their fans. It's probably my favorite part of the whole choreography simply because it's so small, it's the end of the song, but it's showing what holds Seventeen together. It shows that they appreciate the support and they'll be with each other until the end. It's also a common sign you do when you make a promise, so not only are they promising themselves they'll all be together, they're promising fans this, too.
