"Your Precious Love." A classic love song by the greatest duo of all time.
Written by the greatest writing duo, Ashford and Simpson.
The story of Tammi Terrell’s life & terrible illness is so heart wrenching. Before she eventually passed in her mid 20’s due to multiple brain tumours, the exec’s at Motown insisted she fulfil her recording contract, regardless of the debilitating headaches she was experiencing. Marvin & her family were the only ones who sympathised with her😢
Asia & BJ, you’ll love their "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing", "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", You're All I Need to Get By"!!!!! Marvin never fully got over Tammi’s death at age 24(brain cancer 1970). I think her voice was as good as Diana Ross.
Marvin Gaye was part of early Motown in the 1960's. He had a lot of great duets with Tammi Terrell such as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", "Your Precious Love", "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing", "You're All I Need To Get By", "If I Could Build My Whole World Around You" etc. Sadly Tammi died young in 1970 at the age of only 24. Marvin never got over her death.
You're right Marvin Never did got over her.
Never duplicated - major classic jam with 2 legendary voices. 🔥👍
Marvin and Tammy ruled in the 60's. Together their voices were incredible, and each song was a gem. Everyone was so shocked when she passed away so suddenly. Many believe that is when Marvin became more introspective, and his music changed. Still amazing, but different.
Please do more, and imagine what it was for us back then to hear this on the radio for the first time. It was magic...
How great a singer was Marvin Gaye? It's stunning and their duets are timeless. Check out Marvin Gaye's national Anthem at the All Star game in 1983 sometime. Asia - you sound good! Great reaction again. :)
Wife here..Sooooo Adorable with that swooning..🥰..This is absolutely Beautiful.., and I absolutely love it...,I believe you both would absolutely Love.."Ain't no Moutain high enough!!..Definitely that old school..Motown..Ms. Asia your voice gives me chills..Hey BJ my Husband and I went to the Motown Show in Gatli burg TN..And danced the night away!!❤
This and "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" are my favorite of the Marvin/Tammi duets. You always got the sense that those two were totally in love with each other. It's not clear if they ever had a liaison in real life BUT they were soul partners. Marvin never got over Tammi's death. Even if they weren't so close it'd be hard to get over it as she collapsed in his arms during a concert and it was discovered she had a brain tumor.
Over the next couple years Marvin literally saw Tammi wither away until she died. He was the only one from Motown that was allowed to go to her funeral. The last Marvin/Tammi album was mostly Marvin and Valerie Simpson (who sounded a lot like Tammi) Marvin was hesitant about doing that but he did so as the profits and such would go into paying Tammi's hospital bills and such.
That's an incredible story. I knew they were very close...
The song remind me of (their) happier times. It makes me super sad now, but at the moment it was recorded, it was pure joy.
😂
OMG The memories this brings back. Slow dancing at the club. Marvin and Tammi were a beautiful duo.
What an amazing duo these two made.....timeless and unforgettable vocals. Takes me WAAAAY back to a much more chill life. Thank you for getting us all reconnected with Marvin and Tammi. Sweet stuff.
Always loved Marvin Gay and Tammy Terrell❤️ together.
Was so sad when she passed. I just started HS in 1970 , she was maybe 9 years older than me when she died from a brain Tumor. And every time Marvin came out with a new tune, I always thought of her. She had such a beautiful voice that blended so well with Marvin.
I just love Tammi and Marvin, what a class duo and some great soul music
Oh, you two are so frickin cute!!! That was a feel good song. You reflected the mood. 👍❤🤙
Tammi and Marvin were Motown Royalty. They made such beautiful music together and loved each other, in a non- romantic sense. Tammi collapsed on stage and Marvin carried her off. Sadly, Tammi died at a very young age of a brain tumour. Marvin never really got over her death. They were beautiful together. 💔👏🇨🇦
Oh my God guys!! Such a great trip down memory lane. This is one of those classic beautiful songs that you ask the most beautiful girl to slow dance to. You didn't need but one square foot cuz you never even moved your feet!! WOW thanks for the memories!!!! Big love forever and always! 💕
Marvin was one of the greatest along w/ Sam Cooke!
This music should live on thru generations!!! It's the best!!!
Love them
Sweeter and simpler times. Classic Motown Marvin and Tammi adorable.
This is a wonderful song and choice. Love Marvin Gaye!
One Of The Best Love Songs Ever🙌🏾🎶🎵🎶 !!!!!
Finally!!!! In my top 5 duets of all times...good idea with the dedication too 👏....1
I believe they truly loved each other, the timing wasn't right.
Yes. ❤️❤️
Me too. I believe the music industry would not permit it.n
My young friend, how silly can you be his father killed him because he was a gay man
@@FUBAR1986
No he didn't. His dad was gay and he said he'd kill his kids if they ever hit him. Stop lying
@@FUBAR1986
Noooo he did not. His father wore women's clothes.
Gotta react to Marvin doing the national anthem at the all star game. Smooth asl.
I really enjoyed watching y'all enjoy Marvin and Tammy...the was written by Ashford and Simpson and yes it's a Motown song 😊
BJ you are a mess mess mess!! So funny! Asia you’ve got your hands full don’t you? Anyway I love Marvin Gaye. I have a HUGE collection of his albums and he is singing with Tammy on a lot of them. I’m glad y’all are reacting to his music! Keep going!💕
This is beautiful music right here... all day, any day... it's what I know sooo well!!! Absolutely love love LOVE❤️❤️
My Dad came out of the WWII generation. He would make fun of our music. He called it hippie music. So, back in the 60s we had CKLW in Detroit on am radio. I remember riding in the car on our way to Tiger Stadium. This song came on . Dad turned it up and lit a smoke. Now, that's when you knew dad was loving this song. I caught him more than once when a Motown song came on the radio. Dad passed many years ago. But, in his later years he spoke very fondly of Motown.
Bro could have been in one of those singing groups back in the day, with the hand gestures, emphasizing the feeling 😂😂😂😂😂
These two did a lot of beautiful duets together.
Clicked on this real fast! No one does this song better! My Mom's era Motown
Love it back in the day!!!
The very definition of smooth...This is the kind of dance you get real close to your dance partner and give each other a slow motion physical!!! Excuse me, I have to go take a cold shower now... Love you guys!!
Nice choice guys! These two were sensational together. Her passing was truly a blow to Marvin. Miss them both.
The original name of the song is ‘ Your Precious Love’.
Simply marvelous🎯
The CD is in the car player and often I repeat this one a few times while driving nowhere.
Hello the title of this song is "Your Precious Love' written by Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson.
This song is sooo good, have loved the first time I heard it as an 11 yr old in 1966. This is a classic Motown song, the likes of which there were hundreds in the 60's and 70's. Mowtown was a smooth running factory, with writers, arrangers, musicians and singers. This gem here was penned by the trio of Brian and Eddy Holland, and Lamont Dozier. A group called the Elgin's first recorded this for the label and it was released in 1966. A year later, Motown singers Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell teamed up on the same song. I love the bass and guitar on this- incredibly addictive. Good choice you two- keep up the great reactions.
They were the best duo!
Feeling the soul so sweet! (1966) Taking me back! To Childhood! My Mother played Soul & Motown Records in those years.
Great reaction guys! And as others have suggested, I'd love to hear more of Tammi and Marvin! And BJ, you were definitely trying to swoon Asia. And then Asia sang to you and you blew it!!😂 Ya'll just crack me up!🤗
You can't go wrong with either one of these artists. Another great duet by them "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", also made famous by Diana Ross. Marvin is soooo smooth. Thanks guys - your smiles say it all😊
Please!!!!! play the other's with Marvin and Tammi:) If I knew you had not reviewed this one before I would have suggested it months ago:) Asia! you're pretty as always:)
Thanks! Asia and BJ always a fan!
Great song. Thank you! And thanks for the smiles!
Motown marvin songs were one of the best eras in music history,I will never tire of him
Love the Motown sound. Such great music that I wish would come back.
Marvin and Tammi. Soul music royalty right there
On April 1st 1984 I remember hearing about the death of marvin Gaye on my transistor radio.
According to a news broadcast, his father was very religious and objected to the music marvin was making.
His father shot him during an argument. Marvin was trying to salvage the relationship between him and his father at the time this happened.
ya;ll are funny I like to see your reaction to the music I grew up with ... to find 😂😂😂
OMG! I danced to this great, great song many times.
Check out Tammi Terrell "All I Do". Stevie Wonder made a version too. They're both 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Well, all I saw was Marvin Gaye and here I am hell yeah what a voice
Look up the group, chocolate milk, and the song we must go all the way
Marvin never sang with another female after Tammy passed; he was really impacted by her death... But, this duet left it's mark in music.. the lyrics are so much cleaner, impactful, honest... Love expressions were SO MUCH different and SOULFUL... Hate to sound cliche, but love songs were way more meaningful back then, music you could dance to... Fun reaction!! 🎶🎵🎷🎤🎹 PEACE!!
The name of the song is "Your Precious Love".
There goes Asia again, lit up like a 100 watt bulb :) This song lights me up, too. This is SOUL. Check out Marvin Gaye’s “Trouble Man!”
P.S. this song is actually called “Your Precious Love.”
REAL SANGIN!!🥰
What a wonderful duo they were.
Hit!
She had a great song called come on and see me. Great song and a great solo by her please react
Tammy Terrell one of the best girl singers that ever lived. RIP
Great reaction! We used to lip sync the hell out of this song (and the rest of their songs).
Marvin was never the same after tammi passed away...
Best duo ever in music
classic!
Asia ……sounds like Tammi. …….., great job
Back when a love song was really about love.
She died so young, sounds like an angel
that is motown.. ashford and simpson wrote that
You see, back in the day, if this jam was on the box, we were kickin it, honeydip would be gettin sung to, for real. No way she sittin there next to me and i ain't singing to her, what, come on now...be real....
Marvin was do heartbroken when Tammy passed away.
Tammy was such an abused person. I'm glad she found a friend in Marvin and Marvin I believed loved Tammy and never abused her as far as I know. They both lived tragic lives and not being able to be together is part of their tragedy. That song does automatically takes everything away but you and the song.
Also play…wonderful one,got to give it up both parts, pride and joy, I’ll be doggone, ain’t that peculiar..to name some
Asia and , BJ. Are you guys going to react to, some of Christine McVie, who recently passed. Of Fleetwood Mac, here some of her hits, some are duets, Over My Head and Hold Me. 💯👍
definitely aint no mountain high enough
👍
Nice song! So sad and unfortunate I believe she died at 23. My favorite song by them and I can hear it everyday never. tired of it is IF I CAN BUILD MY WORLD AROUND YOU. I'd appreciate if you would react to that great song
How many babies has this song help produce ??classic music i thankyou
This is my mom and I's song
Oh yeah, BJ knows that Asia was sent from heaven above for him to be with her, shoot yall. Can't get anymore romantic than that. Barbershop? I haven't seen it but heard of it. Patreon Movie Suggestion: Legend (1985) with Tom Cruise, Mia Sara, Tim Curry, and Billy Barty. Song suggestion: Sharon O'Neill--Maxine. Hope you like them both.
Wrong title, it's actually Your Precious Love.
"To findddd", watch the finger " to findddd"....."to finddd, to find---- the finger going up there but you not.
Tammi died from a brain tumor. Marvin was so torn up. He refused to sing with anyone again. Marvin died from his Father shooting him. Tragedy for both. They sang as a duet for quite a years.
Motown….😁
Can you react to Ralfi Pagan - Make It With You or To Say I Love You. Raza would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Rip tammi died too young I hope you react to her solo stuff
It's such a shame Tammi passed away so young. Apparently, her death affected Marvin deeply.
Uncle Sam.I don't want to see you ever again
Marvin & Tammi was a duo to be reckoned with. Her tragic death so young, sent Marvin into a tailspin, and many say that’s when he started his drug abuse 😞😔
We need more Motown, the best music EVER.
This song is called Your Precious Love
Karolina Protsenko.
