Great job Badger. Your roof is done quite differently from how roofing is done in France. Here we always use "volige" which is the boarding on top of the chevrons & under the tiles....I guess each country has their own methods. Before you put your weight on the beams, you would insert 2-3 full tension beams (where the tensioning sets are now). Wind alone also has a lot of power since you have now set the sails.

Hi, and a Happy New Year to all from here in the UK, hopefully, Portugal later this year after looking into all this. Great to come across your channel after going through hundreds of similar channels. I will be a lone traveller at 61 with not much building experience, unlike Badger whizzing over the construction of that huge roof!. Lol. I have an allotment here in the UK so quite handy at growing, making compost and things. I'm sure I will get by!. By the way, your children are fabulous, learning the language and keeping themselves so entertained and happy. I am a soon to be author and fine art painter by the way so I will be doing workshops and my goal is for art holidays. I'm thinking Central to North for the beautiful mountain scenes but haven't settled yet!!. Good luck and enjoy your journey into and beyond the New Year.
