    Thanks for the upload gave me a heads up as when dismantling my sons units I had to repair the 3.5mm aux input.
    I just put a put a new cable in with 2 x rca connectors i drilled a hole for the cable on the raised section on the left section for phone storage etc It is built extremely well ! I used to be a engineer for Sony. Undoing that many screws reminded me of some Sony products .
    And the thing has a great sound!

    @paulborneo7535 3 года назад

    Thanks for the teardown. Fixing the aux jack in mine - got damaged by someone tripping over a wire. Kept mine outdoors since I bought it 4 months ago... gives off the toxic chemical that is still used instead of citric acid to clean circuit boards - makes me dizzy, nauseated, fingers tingle when brought indoors. Gonna continue the repair outdoors once it warms up a bit. Great product but manufactured without concern for toxins. Our country should ban toxic solvents in consumer products.

    Thanks for this vid. Helped me take mine apart as rainwater got in the USB area(not closed properly!!! 😡 and it stopped working. After literally draining water out from the inside and hairdryer, it lives once again...very shocked it works after the amount of water come out 😅 as you know, a ridiculous(good) amount of screws!! 👍

    Hi. I know it's like digging up a fossile but a friend of mine have one of those radios and need to replace the power supply. Do you know what size of a barrel plug it uses? It looks like standard 5,5x2,1mm or 5,5x2,5mm but i cant be sure, and i can't measure it myself. Thanks in advance

    - the sound is amazing 👏
    When I buy it I removed foam from battery compartment -that was mystake -coz when u stend it vertical battery slide out.... or if u ftend radio in this position and ▶️ music 🎶 loud bass 🔊 make battery slide out...

    I have this radio! I love this thing. The 2.0 is the same but nicer. The 2.0 has color screen, ability to charge FlexVolt, (and 12V maybe?). But they did change the battery compartment. On the 1.0, you can access the back battery compartment from rear. Anyhoo. Great video. I'm too old to be stripping stuff down! lol

    • @FirstLastOne
      @FirstLastOne Год назад

      But sadly the 2.0 had a massive design flaw and quality control issues so it's done and buried. I have the 1.0 and already had one side of the speakers die. Unit was replaced under warranty with a new unit.

    I'm having issues with the dab radio signal which is apparently an issue with this model. Do you think it's possible to upgrade the antenna, maybe fit an external antenna in the slot on the side which would give the antenna some protection?

    cool vid.
    A suggestion........roofing peel and stick on the speaker spider chassis, and around the cutouts for the speakers will definitely tighten up the sound.
    you can also use it anywhere there is vibration from the speakers.

      These buttons are pretty easy to replace. You can find replacement ones in old LCD monitors (talking even back to the old 17" ones. They sometimes had the low profile ones) You do need the low profile all metal ones. MOST electronics with short throw buttons will have these. Including old baby toys, sound making toy trucks. (Singing Teddybears do NOT have these)... they really are everywhere around us. Removing the old one can be done with a standard soldering iron ONE LEG AT A TIME (There are four) and just pry up GENTLY with your iron after the solder is melted. NOTE: The prying is the most risky part however as long as you make sure your solder is melted and stays melted while you pry you'll have very little risk of peeling up a trace. As well soldering braid and solder suckers do not clear the solder UNDER the legs so don't waste your time using those unless you feel like it.

    Any one notice these can't charge the XR 6AH batteries? I use the 6AH batteries with my saws work great for all day power. Was thinking of modding the battery compartment and phone storage holder it can't hold a plus size phone. The bumper for the battery and the phone compartment seem to take up same space. Might try and cut it out and 3D print a cover for the hole. Thanks for showing how to take this apart.

    Hey thanks for posting this, bought mine Dec 2,2015. yesterday (Dec 2, 2018) hit the 3yr mark while at work the base kept cutting off, I just got off the phone with Dewalt service center & was told there's no fixable part on it & they just do a straight swap. they go by the small sticker inside battery compartment with a QR code which tells them the year. Mine started with a V15 which tells them its 2015 so its a paper weight. I will be taking it apart and see if I can solder anything inside.. damnit! radio sounds really good but warranty sucks
