Wow! There is such a diversity of landscape in Turkey. The landscapes are so lovely; they remind me a bit of Wyoming (but greener) and lots of glacial till. I love that goose is the regional food. And the people, as seems to be typical of Turkey, are so warm and friendly. Awesome video.
Even though Turkey is in Mediterranean region, east side of Turkey has elevation like 1.5-2 KMs from sea level due to the tectonic activity I guess. So elevation changes everything dramatically.

There is similar fencing here in the states to keep the wind from blowing the snow heavily onto the roads. I was reading about goose meat and it's very high in protein and a good vitamin B source as well as other vitamins. Loved seeing those birds of prey, a bird watcher's paradise. You find some of the nicest family run restaurants on your travels and how nice to be given a little concert as well. Actually, this fence has several purposes. -Preventing wild animals suddenly running into the road asppecially wild hourses and bears. so, in the dark safer for drivers and wild animals. -snow / wind / dust breaker , sometimes strong wind or snowstrom owerturn the trucks because of geographical situation of this road. -prevent the road from freezing in winter. Chris, those fences are placed to protect the roads not to become icy during the winter times as Northern part of Turkey has heavy and hard winter times.
As always, Marianne is right. Snow fence. You need a few gaps so it doesn’t get blown over. And come to Minnesota….lots of geese and people hunt and eat them. And -30 in the winter! 🥶
4:20 And you asked what those white couples were for. The reason for putting up those fences is to minimize highway snow accumulation due to snowfall and heavy snow blizzard there during the winter months. Hi guys. I believe it is snow fence. If the snow falls - well it is not flling then - horizontally with a heavy wind it tends to build dunes like the sank in the desert. And when you as high as you are they must have snow there some times.
