    • @christopherwells3426
      @christopherwells3426 5 лет назад +1

      Jonathan Soko why i say emotional. Is i believe you were probably brought up Christian. There is no logical rational reason to accept God is part of a Trinity. Either intellectually or based on evidence. Even your own bible largely disagrees. So my advice is to worship the Creator alone. Don't associate partners with God ie the Trinity. There is no point for you to respond. This is not up for debate.

    • @christopherwells3426
      @christopherwells3426 5 лет назад

      Jonathan Soko that is a total red harring! Is that what a man of God does. You can't prove your belief with or without the Bible. Yes it's my opinion. I've come to this belief using my God given intellect. My God given ability to reason and use logic. Now I've given credit to God. Like Jesus said of thy own self i can do nothing. So it's not arrogance. If your not a Christian putting aside the Bible. You still can't make your case. I've heard enough from all sides to deny your ability to challenge my position. Hence the reason i say it's not up for debate. Another word for debate is to argue. A man of God doesn't need to argue.

  • @celestialknight2339
    @celestialknight2339 7 лет назад +42

    There is nothing wrong with the Torah's use of the word "rested," because that can simply mean that God "stopped" since he had finished creating the universe. The big problem for Jews and Christians is the Torah saying that God was "refreshed," which by definition means to re-energize or rejuvenate yourself after a LOSS of energy. This would mean that God did not have infinite energy to begin with, which means he simply cannot be God.

    • @leadfarmer9396
      @leadfarmer9396 7 лет назад

      Abdul S. why does it say he created in 6 days

    • @celestialknight2339
      @celestialknight2339 7 лет назад +2

      leadfarmer I'm not sure exactly what your question means. But my point was not about the 6-day creation, which is actually a belief that Islam holds. The central issue here is the Torah's statement that God was "refreshed" after creating the universe, which is an attribute of IMPERFECTION. And God, by definition, cannot be imperfect. In contrast, the Quran says that God Almighty (Allah) created the heavens and the earth in 6 days but NO FATIGUE OR WEARINESS TOUCHED HIM (Quran 50:38) Thus the Quran corrects the Jewish & Christian scriptures and reaffirms God's complete perfection and infinite might & power. I hope this makes sense. Peace.

    • @blessedishashemtheg-dofisr7397
      @blessedishashemtheg-dofisr7397 7 лет назад +2

      Abdul S. Just because"Refreshed" is a human quality, that does not mean it cannot apply to G-d in a metaphorical way. Why do humans have eyes? Because without eyes, humans can't see. So when Quran talks about G-d's "eyes" does that imply that He cannot see without eyes? Or when it talks about G-d's hands, does that mean He cannot do something without hands? Obviously not. These are metaphors. Torah speaks in the language suitable for human ear. When Torah says G-d was "refreshed", it means He contaminated His creation.

    • @blessedishashemtheg-dofisr7397
      @blessedishashemtheg-dofisr7397 7 лет назад

      Mo Al when looking at Aramaic translation called Targum Onkelus, he uses the same root word when translating the verse of Noah's ark "stopping " on mount Ararat. So clearly the ark wasn't tired, and yet is says as if it "rested". Therefore "rested" could mean stopped. As far as "refreshed" there is also an explanation of what it actually means.

    • @celestialknight2339
      @celestialknight2339 7 лет назад +3

      Blessed is HaShem, the G-d of Israel. You still have not explained why the Christian and Jewish scriptures affirm that God was "refreshed" after the creation of the universe, which is the CENTRAL issue of this discussion. Refreshment NECESSITATES a previous loss of energy, which is a quality of imperfection which God Almighty cannot have, by virtue of his very nature and essence.
      You mentioned that it could have been metaphorically used, as God in the monotheistic scriptures (including the Quran) say that God has eyes. This is FALSE. Nowhere does the Quran say that God has eyes, but it simply says that he sees all things (which obviously alludes to a divine attribute of "seeing" that we cannot comprehend otherwise). But even IF the Quran said such a thing, this is not a valid analogy. Why? Because "seeing," by definition, does not necessitate limitation and imperfection; but rather the opposite when it is applied to God Almighty, the All-Seeing. On the other hand, the word "refreshed" BY DEFINITION necessitates restriction, limitation, and imperfection, which can in no way shape or form be applied to God Almighty the Creator.
      And to selectively and subjectively interpret this word as being "metaphorical" does not help your case, because it's meaning both figuratively AND in reality must necessitate imperfection due to the very use of the word "refreshed," which you believe God himself used to describe himself in the verse of Genesis. So your case, with all due respect, has not yet been established at all, and we are left with nothing but the Jewish scriptures portraying a limited God, which should be totally rejected. This is exactly why the Quran corrects it, and reaffirms God's infinite power and majesty. Peace.

      God is all knowing, he knows everything and the future, but he is also the most just. Imagine if you were born as a baby (this baby in the future will become a murderer and a great sinner) so God says to this baby, i know your future i will put you in the hellfire. That is not true justice because the baby has not committed those sins yet, he himself yet as not attributed those sins and evil actions yet by performing this, this is why God gives us free will to choose our actions, what we do with our actions and attribute to ourself on the day of judgement we do not have an argument against God because we ourself have committed those misdeeds and sins so it would be just for him to punish us. Hope this makes sense

When Torah says G-d was "refreshed", it means He contamplated His creation.
    Now while we are on the subject, the Hebrew word used here is Nafash, which means "soul". So I'm not even sure why they keep translating it as "refreshed". It's more like "and He Souled"(if there is such a word). Meaning, He gave a spiritual aspect to the physical world. In fact, this is why it is the 7th day, as opposed to 8th or 6th. According to Maharal of Prague, in our 3D world, every physical object (or physical being) has 6 sides. It is the 7th side, which we cannot see, which connects the soul of that object (or being). (PS. Yes, according to Judaism even inanimate objects have some kind of a soul). Hence the 7th side of the world, is what gives it spirituality.

      I think the "poor kid" answered him very well. Any use of human terms in reference to Gd is a limitation and therefore cannot be taken literally. In the same way Shamsi explained the pluralistic term in which Allah was referenced to in Qu'ran it should not be hard to understand in the same vain Gd rested (which in English can also simply meane to cease) or "regretted" that we don't take this amphromorphisms literally. Does the Quran describe Allah as merciful? Yes. Yet one can understand that Gd's mercy is good but on a human level mercy can be used for good or bad. Is Gd described referenced as He in the Quran? Yes. Obviously we don't therefore make the accusation that Gd is a human male. I think Shamsi keeps bringing this point up against the Torah but if he really thought about it he would understand any form of amphromorphism in the Quran, whether is describes what is largely thought of as good or even neutral is a form of limitation and therefore cannot be taken literally.

    The fact that G-d does not get tired is explilcitly expressed by Prophet Isaiah in chatper 40, verse 28. "Do you not know-if you have not heard-an everlasting God is the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth; He neither tires nor wearies"
    So whatever Vayinafash (which wrongly translate as "refreshed") means, does NOT mean He was tired.

    Shamsi is very brilliant and human at the same time. Under G-D (Allah, Hashem = Many Names for the ONE ALMIGHTY), every Jew is a Muslim. All Muslims that teach G-Ds (Allahs) words (Torah & Qur'an) are Jews (or Chosen people). Chosen just means that you accept G-Ds responsibility to spread his laws and expectations to all others. Therefore, Shamsi is a Chosen person (or in layman's terms a Jew & Muslim in one). To really know G-D (Allah) we must understand a few very important concepts. [1] When G-D is described as perfect, the real meaning of perfect in this context refers to "Completely Just". It does not refer to the human term of "never making a mistake". G-D has no ill will towards anything and always judges without prejudice. Punishment for your actions by G-D is not done with any ill will and does not have any evil intentions. G-D is the Highest Power or Most Powerful, however this does not mean that creation does not have limits. Being the Almighty, does not mean that G-D has no feelings (like Love, Hate, Anger and Joy). [2] G-D does not know the exact future, however he can intervene and set a path, journey, or create a scenario at any point of what we perceive as Time. In other words, he can predict the future by making the prediction happen at the time & place of G-Ds choice. The Future is not set in stone and proof of this is G-D giving us free will. It is impossible to have Free Will and to have the future planned out. G-D can hear our thoughts and is able to see everything, and therefore he knows what actions we are presently making. With G-Ds Intelligence at a level so high we cannot even begin to comprehend it, of course he can see the direction the world is heading in, but this is not the same as knowing the exact future, which would mean that everything is planned out already and therefore there is no choices to be made. Hence, then there is no point in life with free will. G-D is the ultimate parent (father) of all life and as a Good Parent wants what is best and most just for all of his creations. [3] G-D did not create religion (man made cults). G-D gave us his laws and expectations to direct us in a positive and proactive just life (As any good parent would want for their children). These Laws & Expectations given to humanity can be found in the Torah & Qur'an. There are no contradictions between these two books of G-D. There are some slight differences as far as responsibilities, however the Belief & Praise to the One True Almighty G-D of Abraham is Equal in all aspects. The purpose of both the Torah & Qur'an is to layout the differences between Good & Evil or Good Deeds\Intentions and Ill Will\Bad Intentions. G-D gave us instinctual behaviors to survive and flourish, and the Torah & Qur'an are the instructions on how to utilize these behaviors without letting them get out of hand or drift in the wrong direction. Love & Fear are the keys to Proper Control and must be maintained in an equal balance. To Shamsi, you have the light of G-D (Allah) in you, keep on your path to bring your light to humanity. We need the entire world to believe in the One True Almighty for Peace to ever be a reality. Without the Love & Fear of G-D (Allah) there is only anarchy. PEACE & LOVE TO ALL. ** One more important point that I forgot to address: The change that Shamsi refers to towards the Torah, is what is called the Oral Law in Judaism. It is not the actual Torah that is corrupt or changed in any way, however the Oral Law is the corruption in a perverted translation of the Torah. Also, the Qur'an states that Jesus was a Messenger and NOT the Messiah or a god.

    The Talmud explains this phrase "regret" as follows: A Roman came to Rabbi and asked him, "Why did G-d become sad when He saw the humanity got corrupted? Didn't G-d know that humanity would get corrupted?" The rabbi answered "When your son was born, didn't you know that one day he will die? So shouldn't you have been crying when he was born? No, obviously not. Even though you knew he would die, there is a time for happiness and there is a time for sadness." When G-d regret, it means G-d was sad (sort of speak) about the result. I think same can apply to Soul.

      Muhammad Alhasan I think these are limitations of translations. I think it is more proper to translate that word as "reconsider". I think it's not problematic theology for G-d to reconsider. For example, when Jews sinned and G-d wanted to destroy the people, Moses pbuh started to pray, and it says that G-d "reconsidered." Same Hebrew word is used. I mean isn't that what prayer is all about? G-d is about to do something, a person prays, and G-d reconsiders. Sometimes the opposite can also happen.

Is Gd described referenced as "He" in the Quran? Yes. Obviously we don't therefore make the accusation that Gd is a human male. I think Shamsi keeps bringing this point up against the Torah in other videos but if he really thought about it he would understand any form of amphromorphism in the Quran, whether is describes what is largely thought of as good or even neutral is a form of limitation and therefore cannot be taken literally.

    Muslims cannot come to grips with the term "regretful" God as expressed in the Old Testament (understandably so because Allah is Almighty and Allah cannot make mistakes). Hence, the expressions in the Hebrew Bible is rejected and to be replaced by the Koran.
    The word regret has to be understood in the context of free will. Despite knowing that many men will make the bad decisions in life, God still permitted the existence of mortal men who turn evil. WHY??
    God regrets that men make wrong decisions but he doesn't regret about his fallen creation as there are also many who turn away from their errors. He didn't want to create robots who only do good, he wanted free will man who choose to do good and follow God. Ultimately, men will all know God, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9).
    For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD, Repent and live! (Ezekiel 18:32).
    God didn't create men for the sake of destruction. He created men to live and enjoy his creation and rule over it (Genesis 1:26). If God wanted us to be in heaven, he wouldn't create earth. Earth will be perfected in the messianic age.
