You definitely haven't played Forza motorsport 7 if you think this is just reskinned fm7. For starters the whole progression system, physics system, game engine, career, MP and gameplay are all very different. And as for GT7 it's not even a competitor to GT6 it's literally just GT sport with some added features

They generally fix a lot with each update but the rest you're right about. The game is in a pretty big free state now and all it needs is content but instead they're putting even less content into the game because that makes sense
Especially online? Well, there's only 'Career', and Rivals, and they're totally pointless, so T10's couple of P2W online races is all there is, and if they don't feature your favourite car you have nothing at all to play. LOL.

When you have a sim rig set up, and proper racing games like Assetto, ACC, BeamNG, rFactor 2, Richard Burns Rally etc, I struggle to find myself wanting to play Forza Motorsport like I did in the good old days.
My thing with assetto, rfactor, PC2, and iRacing is that they aren’t games really. They’re just simulators for racing and that’s it. Theres no progression, no upgrading and customizing cars or whatever. Which is great for people that want that. If you’re just looking for raw racing experience for sure ACC and rfactor are gonna be your go to. But like gran turismo isn’t quite as realistic perhaps but it is still a game. This isn’t to say that there’s anything wrong with ACC or PC2 or iRacing. They’re just different from what GT and Motorsport are going for. BeamNG and automation make for a fantastic combo tho I must say.
I know what you mean, it's the car collecting, and garage building aspect that seems to elude those games I mentioned. They're time trial simulators 😅 I just wish there was an "indie" dev that could make a realistic car progression, car collecting, RPG style game. @@aidanfriedfeld8889

What I mean is that I find, other than that they are both realistic racing sims, comparing something like ACC or PC2 to something like GT just doesn’t quite make a ton of sense because aside from get better at racing (or if you’re playing ACC on pc a ton of mods) there just isn’t that much to do in dedicated sims vs something like GT. Again this isn’t a negative towards ACC or other dedicated sims. They’re just different. For me personally I think ACC and PC2 are great I just never had the urge to really dive into them because my goblin gamer brain would rather pour time into GT where I can spend money on car upgrades and get that sweet neuron activate moment when I get a shiny new car.

GT7 was technically sound but had unsatisfactory progression. Simply put the game made you buy a bunch of cars you don't use to complete arbitrary checklists in order to progress the game. GT7 was actually vulnerable yet Team Green dropped the ball with Forza Motorsport. The nonsensical progression systems, the technical issues, poor performance, and paired back visuals. Xbox has had a bunch of botched releases; Halo Infinite, Redfall and Forza Motorsport. I wish Gran Turismo vs Forza Motorsport was a clash of titans. Instead it's a clash of something underwhelming and something that's definitely not built from the ground up.

The Crew Motorfest is a boring FH5 copy but with far worse handling, FH2 graphics (at best) and lacks consistent updates. It got scored 76. Get over it.

I was already pretty disappointed with FM 7 Singleplayer Career. What annoys me is that they promised so much about the single player before launch. Fortunately, I relied on my gut feeling and didn't pre-order. Instead, I tested it with the Gamepass.
The fact that I've still had whole sections of the track just disappear around me, textures missing and popping in and out shows they haven't made it better for console. It'd also be nice to have suggested gears and more events

A widebody kit allows you to run wider tires. If you played the game, you'd know that running widebody kits in multiplayer is pretty much the meta (if the car offers it).
I got it and stopped after like 3 weeks. Its just lame. Rally didnt happen, awesone grapgics didnt happen, more customization didnt happen, better driving physics in my opinion didnt happen. I currently own an Xbox One X. I held back at purchasing the new Series X because I was like “I’ll just wait for the upcoming Forza to come out and bundle them and maybe buy special Forza edition Xbox..” sufficed it to say that I bought a PS5 and now playing GT7, and play Forza horizon on my current Xbox.
This game is the saddest moment in Forza history. I have every Forza game from Forza Motorsport 3 onwards, including the entire Horizon series. They've disappointed me so many times, but I've still been able to enjoy each game enough to put several 100 hours each of them. This the latest Motosport game however was the last straw. I pre-ordered like an idiot, the big boy edition, and straight up feel like they fooled me. The game doesn't work, not even visually, and it isn't fun. End of. I've unistalled this game, the latest Forza game. That has never happened to me before. Forza is my go-to chill game. This one is so bad that I've uninstalled it.. So sad
Fun fact if you go on the track layout tab you can see the track layout 👍🏻. Also I've got some bad news for you about GT7 if you dont like always online. It really makes you look like a giant hypocrite when you call out one game for having something or not having something and then suck off another game which is quite honestly pretty similar
At least you can play any other racing game/sim out there. Forza Motorsport is currently the only racing game with blind driving assists, and they work really well. For all the negative said about this game, they really did an awesome job in terms of accessibility. Now, we need to get more devs onboard the accessibility train, because I would love to play iRacing, Acc, Asetto Corsa, etc, but right now, I just can't.
Even after the 10 updates, this game is inexcusable. I just gave this game another try yesterday after it's been sitting and collecting dust for months. I was reminded why I let this game sit. I just can not get into this game. It just doesn't do it for me. It's a turn-off.

Am i the only one who hates all these games with the same soulless white text on semi-transparent menus? Test drive unlimited solar crown had the same thing. I find it very low effort from the game devs to just stick with an almost stock menu interface 😢
If Project CARS 4 wasn't cancelled it would've had the best UI design (based on the leaked unfinished UI video) because its designed by the same person who did DiRT3's UI, Philip Cox. I would say, I'd love to see UI that's both consistent and unique to a game series. Like early Halo and CoD. People miss the uncluttered simplicity of those days.

I have always been a massive fan of Forza, but with this last game I just feel like I’m getting scammed. Too little cars, you have to buy a lot to get to your personal sweet spot cars. The online is super expensive. Just falling out of love with it this way.
I really wanted this game to be good but it sucks so badly! Online racing is shite, can't even make the slightest contact with another car without losing all control of the car. The wheel literally goes almost totally dead for half a second, especially if someone touches your rear quarter panel. So frustrating I had to stop playing it. I'd rather play asseto corsa even tho the graphics suck and the tracks and cars are limited, at least the game works and has great physics
The main game I played for years was forza 7. This game is definitely disrespectful to its true fans. The lack of tracks and reuse of old tracks is absurd

I used to play Forza a lot on my Xbox Series X on game pass. Until two months ago, when some of the updates totaly messed the game from graphical point of view. The game was very good looking with good amounts of details of enviroment. Now the clouds are an absolute trash!?? No details, and painting looking. After updates I also noticed worse graphics in general. I had to stop playing the game. Its not beautiful anymore...

Whilst I agree that the career mode is rubbish and there's zero motivation to buy cars, UI being translucent isn't that deep at all. And NONE of that makes it a "scam". The games is refundable like anything else and most people got it for free with a subscription anyway, it's not like they forced you to buy it or anything either, scam is not the right word, disappointment is.
forza motorsport is 95% online ranked racing. That's the point of the game's existence. Name another game that does scheduled ranked competitive racing with daily/weekly races with a penalty system with ROAD cars. It's the most fun ive had in a racing game period. I dont have a ps5 so i cant say much for grand turismo but the online racing looks to be mostly gt and other race cars. And i havent tried iracing either but that seems to be mostly race cars as well (i could be wrong)
You're not completely wrong. GT7 usually has 1 weekly race with road cars, and 2 weekly with race cars - you can almost never use a custom upgraded car tho. iRacing is basically all racing cars, but imo iRacing is still the king if you want to race seriously with wheel and pedals.
I am SO happy, that I didn't fall for the FOMO trap and actually waited a little bit before buying the game. Aa of right now, I still have no intentions in doing so, because the game feels cheap for something that should be groundbreaking. Thank you for this video, Im probably going to buy it much later on, if at all.
Those who labelled this racing game of the year are not people who actually play racing games, played this for a week at launch to review it, and haven't played it since Oct. 2023. Those who criticised it get called weirdos by people who don't play the game, search up a review it and see it be rated 8-9/10. But then again those who play it are not enjoying it, whilst the press who doesnt play it thinks its great. It's pretty weird in that sense.
They just got the sound engineer that was known for the quality of car sound reproduction in the first 6 games, he came back to fix all the sounds for the cars...
Unfortunately the only modern track based simcade currently is GT7. I wish there were more and also tbh I’d like to see a street racing game with simcade physics. Like gimme the silly customization and crazy engine swaps and all that from need for speed and then GT physics and I’m set.
The body kit is wide stance and your fenders have louvers your wide stance. Give you better attraction Louvers get rid of the pressure. The only thing that really matters is the suspension if you’re drifting
What I heard is that they addressed barely any of the feedback. I would like to know about the stability of the game, glitches being fixed, crashes being fixed, drift events, drag events, rallyX maybe, fixed car models and interiors, and a penalty system overhaul to go with their murderous AI. I won't go back until I start hearing about this. Until then...I have plenty of other games to fill the void.

Honestly i miss the days of forza 2 and forza motorsport 4. I hope they add the progression back. Starting at low level slow cars is more fun . Starting at 50k dollar cars takes so much progression out. I love the handling and graphics 10 out of 10
I think everyone needs to calm down about this game. It's definitely salvageable, we just need to give the devs constructive criticism and suggestions, they just need to listen to us and implement them. Honestly, it's just the career mode that can't be saved, the multiplayer was clearly prioritised at some point in this game's development and I think people that still play the multiplayer will agree with me that it's still reasonably fun but needs serious improvement in many areas. Either way, one thing this game isn't, is a scam because that's not what the definition of scam means. I think the title is a bit clickbaity and it's just getting everyone riled up which helps nothing and nobody.

Forza Motorsport's biggest failing isn't the bugs and technical issues, ironically. Those can be fixed. FM's biggest flaw is something that can't be fixed: It's the epitome of MVP - Minimum Viable Product - That's common in the software industry. There is no soul, passion or heart to the game. It's bland, boring, and functions at a passable level. Nothing more, nothing less. It lacks everything from presentation to content. Speaking of content, if it had launched with at least, the same content as FM7, I don't think it would get the hate it does? But content is what keeps people playing, and the lack of it at launch caused many to quit altogether, car points & progression issues, aside.
FM2023 is such a tragedy of a game man... It breaks my heart as a series fan who played all the games (except for FM5 since I never owned an Xbox One) from FM4 & FH1 all the way through.

The Crew was so heavily robbed. This game feels so barren and a slap to the face of every forza motorsport fan. The Campaign looks like a joke, the multiplayer barely works and the penalty system will punish you for breathing the same air as the person next to you. All the fun events have been taken away, there are no real special cars, and most of these problems have been around since the game launched. The only reason i play it is cuz i dont own a Ps5 (and i dont like GT's handling anyway) and im desperate for a closed track racer that i dont need a wheel for. Its sad.

There are some fixes, but a lot of the things they fixed shouldn't have been there on release.

I enjoyed the older games. Was disappointed with this one though.
GT7 was technically sound but had unsatisfactory progression. Simply put the game made you buy a bunch of cars you don't use to complete arbitrary checklists in order to progress the game.
GT7 was actually vulnerable yet Team Green dropped the ball with Forza Motorsport. The nonsensical progression systems, the technical issues, poor performance, and paired back visuals. Xbox has had a bunch of botched releases; Halo Infinite, Redfall and Forza Motorsport.
I wish Gran Turismo vs Forza Motorsport was a clash of titans. Instead it's a clash of something underwhelming and something that's definitely not built from the ground up.

Nearly all cars feel way to heavy and understeer like crazy. When I switch to AC it feels like a blessing and that’s like 10 years old

@@thejdmunknown4228 if you say is boring, you simply don't like to do races with cars. You have no love for actually using the cars. Forza career structure gives you the chance to use almost every type of car, while GT7 makes you collect them to keep there without using.

I was already pretty disappointed with FM 7 Singleplayer Career. What annoys me is that they promised so much about the single player before launch. Fortunately, I relied on my gut feeling and didn't pre-order. Instead, I tested it with the Gamepass.
I gotta say post update 9, the new HDR and lighting changes they made are fantastic, the game does actually look much much better now

Honestly i'd rather if they try to make a meaningful changes to the game instead of adding more eye candy.
The fact that I've still had whole sections of the track just disappear around me, textures missing and popping in and out shows they haven't made it better for console. It'd also be nice to have suggested gears and more events

A widebody kit allows you to run wider tires. If you played the game, you'd know that running widebody kits in multiplayer is pretty much the meta (if the car offers it).
I got it and stopped after like 3 weeks. Its just lame. Rally didnt happen, awesone grapgics didnt happen, more customization didnt happen, better driving physics in my opinion didnt happen. Its like a 2 year game that took 6. The progrssion is so lame. I mean its insane to me that they could spend that much time to make a game worse than forza 4. They really killed the franchise

This game is the saddest moment in Forza history. I have every Forza game from Forza Motorsport 3 onwards, including the entire Horizon series.
They've disappointed me so many times, but I've still been able to enjoy each game enough to put several 100 hours each of them.
This the latest Motosport game however was the last straw. I pre-ordered like an idiot, the big boy edition, and straight up feel like they fooled me.

Fun fact if you go on the track layout tab you can see the track layout 👍🏻. Also I've got some bad news for you about GT7 if you dont like always online. At least you can play any other racing game/sim out there. Forza Motorsport is currently the only racing game with blind driving assists, and they work really well. For all the negative said about this game, they really did an awesome job in terms of accessibility. Now, we need to get more devs onboard the accessibility train, because I would love to play iRacing, Acc, Asetto Corsa, etc, but right now, I just can't.
300 days and I still can't get in to a online lobby
Even after the 10 updates, this game is inexcusable. I just gave this game another try yesterday after it's been sitting and collecting dust for months. I was reminded why I let this game sit. I just can not get into this game. It just doesn't do it for me. It's a turn-off.

If Project CARS 4 wasn't cancelled it would've had the best UI design (based on the leaked unfinished UI video) because its designed by the same person who did DiRT3's UI, Philip Cox.
I would say, I'd love to see UI that's both consistent and unique to a game series. Like early Halo and CoD. People miss the uncluttered simplicity of those days.

I have always been a massive fan of Forza, but with this last game I just feel like I’m getting scammed. Too little cars, you have to buy a lot to get to your personal sweet spot cars. The online is super expensive. Just falling out of love with it this way.

Online racing is shite, can't even make the slightest contact with another car without losing all control of the car. The wheel literally goes almost totally dead for half a second, especially if someone touches your rear quarter panel. So frustrating I had to stop playing it. I'd rather play asseto corsa even tho the graphics suck and the tracks and cars are limited, at least the game works and has great physics
The main game I played for years was forza 7. This game is definitely disrespectful to its true fans. The lack of tracks and reuse of old tracks is absurd

Out of all the bad games I've bought, Forza Motorsport 2023 is the one I feel most scammed with.

I used to play Forza a lot on my Xbox Series X on game pass.
Until two months ago, when some of the updates totaly messed the game from graphical point of view.
The game was very good looking with good amounts of details of enviroment.
Now the clouds are an absolute trash!?? No details, and painting looking.
After updates I also noticed worse graphics in general.
I had to stop playing the game. Its not beautiful anymore...
Forza 7 was dreadful after release but it eventually got better. I'm hoping this game is going to continue being built up like Forza 7 was

Whilst I agree that the career mode is rubbish and there's zero motivation to buy cars, UI being translucent isn't that deep at all. And NONE of that makes it a "scam". The games is refundable like anything else and most people got it for free with a subscription anyway, it's not like they forced you to buy it or anything either, scam is not the right word, disappointment is.
forza motorsport is 95% online ranked racing. That's the point of the game's existence. Name another game that does scheduled ranked competitive racing with daily/weekly races with a penalty system with ROAD cars. It's the most fun ive had in a racing game period. I dont have a ps5 so i cant say much for grand turismo but the online racing looks to be mostly gt and other race cars. And i havent tried iracing either but that seems to be mostly race cars as well (i could be wrong)
You're not completely wrong. GT7 usually has 1 weekly race with road cars, and 2 weekly with race cars - you can almost never use a custom upgraded car tho. iRacing is basically all racing cars, but imo iRacing is still the king if you want to race seriously with wheel and pedals.

I am SO happy, that I didn't fall for the FOMO trap and actually waited a little bit before buying the game. Aa of right now, I still have no intentions in doing so, because the game feels cheap for something that should be groundbreaking. A lot of people still play the multiplayer and it's very fun. Not all aspects of the game are bad, mostly just the career mode.

Those who labelled this racing game of the year are not people who actually play racing games, played this for a week at launch to review it, and haven't played it since Oct. 2023.
Those who criticised it get called weirdos by people who don't play the game, search up a review it and see it be rated 8-9/10.
But then again those who play it are not enjoying it, whilst the press who doesnt play it thinks its great. It's pretty weird in that sense.

What I heard is that they addressed barely any of the feedback. I would like to know about the stability of the game, glitches being fixed, crashes being fixed, drift events, drag events, rallyX maybe, fixed car models and interiors, and a penalty system overhaul to go with their murderous AI.
I won't go back until I start hearing about this. Until then...I have plenty of other games to fill the void.

Honestly i miss the days of forza 2 and forza motorsport 4. I hope they add the progression back. Starting at low level slow cars is more fun . Starting at 50k dollar cars takes so much progression out. I love the handling and graphics 10 out of 10

I think everyone needs to calm down about this game. It's definitely salvageable, we just need to give the devs constructive criticism and suggestions, they just need to listen to us and implement them. Honestly, it's just the career mode that can't be saved, the multiplayer was clearly prioritised at some point in this game's development and I think people that still play the multiplayer will agree with me that it's still reasonably fun but needs serious improvement in many areas. Either way, one thing this game isn't, is a scam because that's not what the definition of scam means. I think the title is a bit clickbaity and it's just getting everyone riled up which helps nothing and nobody.

Forza Motorsport's biggest failing isn't the bugs and technical issues, ironically. Those can be fixed. FM's biggest flaw is something that can't be fixed: It's the epitome of MVP - Minimum Viable Product - That's common in the software industry. There is no soul, passion or heart to the game. It's bland, boring, and functions at a passable level. Nothing more, nothing less. It lacks everything from presentation to content. Speaking of content, if it had launched with at least, the same content as FM7, I don't think it would get the hate it does? But content is what keeps people playing, and the lack of it at launch caused many to quit altogether, car points & progression issues, aside.

The Crew was so heavily robbed. This game feels so barren and a slap to the face of every forza motorsport fan. The Campaign looks like a joke, the multiplayer barely works and the penalty system will punish you for breathing the same air as the person next to you. All the fun events have been taken away, there are no real special cars, and most of these problems have been around since the game launched. The only reason i play it is cuz i dont own a Ps5 (and i dont like GT's handling anyway) and im desperate for a closed track racer that i dont need a wheel for. Its sad.
