Presidents don’t get to that level unless they’re approved by the Establishment. Ultimately, they don’t have that much power.
@@SELKCOMM I think he was just bias to the Bush administration.
Think of it like Mc Donlads. He's the shift manager, not the franchise owner.
And they shouldn’t
@David Montgomery
The reason why they're powerful is because they can hide behind a veil of annonymity. We don't know who *they* are by design.
It's managed to morph into so much more if you've not been looking lately 😅
Lol 2020 showed us that people lack the ability to see patterns and details.
The best intro in the history of RUclips content.. Keep up the good work my friend!
Love the episodes that have historical depth! Would love more like this lex
I wish I had an ounce of the eloquence of this man.
It's military-industrial-congressional complex
@Pasi Fred Micimat - Military, industrial, congressional, intelligence, media, academia, think-tank
That is the way Eisenhauer originally wrote it in the rough draft.
I say that America's belief that we have what everyone yearns for is misleading because yes we could be a beacon of hope and are deeds blessings but...when I landed in Iraq. Blackwater was the security detail for Halliburton and I arrived 6 months after we first landed with troops. They had the audacity to lie to our faces and say it wasn't corporate interests
😍 oh lex I love how serious he is but then cracks a funny seamlessly
Its a subtle hint at the proper mode of being to successfully navigate through this vast, strange and fast world we live in
I love how Jeremi comes from a non-biased viewpoint based on history.
Eightsleep funding Lex just speaks to how good the content is 😂
Some expensive af mattresses
Love this guest
Ron Paul: "Don’t Confuse Defense Spending with Military Spending; They’re Not the Same"
A 90 second initial question...as usual.
I am a combat veteran of Iraq 🇮🇶 and don't believe the hype about most people wanted us there. Few people were happy with pause the possibility that we could make the situation better. Fact is we made it so much worse. So much worse
Micimat - Military, industrial, Congressional, intelligence, media, academia, think-tank
Recend the 47 national security act Truman said later it was a mistake and he listed the see y aeee as #1
It’s hard to get the US military to get into a conflict but once there, it’s almost impossible to get them out.
Recent actions by four star general throughly modern Milley show Jeremiah is WRONG. TMM was not deferential to el presidenteee.
He basically said “Obama really wanted to withdraw our troops but it was too inconvenient so he didn’t” 😂 ok.
very good catch, Obama is just like, a Book with a beautiful cover art, but once you start reading, you realize it's just a regular Webster dictionary. such a let down
“Structure is more powerful than we realize”, especially when the leaders are weak
I think the pentagon has the power to over rule a president if need to them be ! Or they just lie!
Makes sense. Happened with Presidents during the end of slavery. Most knew they had to do something about it but they also knew doing something would start a civil war. So they pushed it off until Lincoln
“Inconvenient” in the sense that withdrawing the troops would leave the populations vulnerable to anyone coming in with the biggest gun as the baddest intention.
They couldn’t pull out of Irak right away because there was no unified government when Obama came into office. The democratically elected leader had tribal leaders to negotiate with, some of which were propped up by Russian money, Iranian money, Turkish money.
And that’s just the example of Irak. And maybe the US just shouldn’t have been there, but the political stabilization of Irak, the removal of rampant corruption, meant real international trade could begin.
Which means Iraqis are less poor, more educated, connected to the world.
Secret space program 😉
1:54 so how do you explain that Biden already publicly announced date of military withdrawal from afghanistan ??? if he actually does it, it means the president DOES have enough power to do that and CAN resist the establishment pressure
The proof will be in the pudding. He also pushed it back from the original May 1 deadline.
Those troops aren't coming home. They will be redeployment to different theaters. Leaving Afghanistan doesn't mean they come home
@@darylhenry9595 that's exactly my point...... but liberals will still say "but we kept our promise, we withdrew them from afghanistan" :D:D:D can't wait for that pretentious shitshow :D
He'll just withdraw the Soldiers and let the military Contractors take over.
As long as the money is flowing trough and into the right pockets they don't care about the soldiers.
At least in my View.
@@fabiankehrer3645 exactly...... the point of withdrawing soldiers is not only about saving lives of our soldiers, but also to stop our tax money from being wasted on bullshit that keeps making establishment a fortune...... it doesn't matter that those contractors are not american soldiers, because they will be still warmongering for american money....... it's almost the same thing
No one is more responsible for the M/I complex, than FDR
How?
Lol 😂 that guy
Of course when Trump did troop withdrawals it was bad, when Obama did it, it was good. Orange Man bad.
@@jonnybgoode7742 It's amazing isn't it?
What is your guys Problem. He said the truth. Not what he did but the truth. So yes Obama lied in that regard but the statement is still true
When Biden did troop withdrawals it was worst.
@@lockejr so just leave them there?
do what's easier?
"It's very hard to resist"...combovers.
Drones and robo doge👽
He left out George Bush.
Already a dislike? 😂 love
You mean partisan, not political mr. Lex.
This guy is definitely the propagandist historian we're told about. He cares just as much if not more about optics than actual policy and results lol
yup!
This dude never mentions campaign contributions ever, like our entire federal government isn’t completely bought and paid for.
It’s pretty annoying actually. Like listening to a really smart, naive child talk about politics
That guy needs a haircut
Or maybe just a tupay
Buddy needs to shave his head. Please man shave it off.
