I love saints row another game with humor like that would be! Gears of war!and far cry blood dragon and definitely a fan of r rated humor such as blazing saddles,heathers,girls trip,blockers,Porky's,A clockwork orange,the good guys,game night,Deadpool,kick ass, and American pie,Hustlers and anything Seth Rogan or Matt stone trey Parker! A huge fan love them!!
The moment that stuck out to me about this game is the part where conker and the general talk about war and how horrible those are. It's really a touching moment and it opens my eyes on how the world really is.
It's true that there are certain forms of humour that can't be done anymore or at least are much harder to do. Gore and profanities are fair game as long as you avoid jokes at the expense of minorities. It's not that people don't find them funny anymore (if anything, the opposite seems to be the case), the publishers just don't want to deal with review-bombing and general backlash that could hurt the sales. Conker on the other hand wouldn't have any problem being released today since its brand of crude humor is not as controversial anymore. A game would need to be more extreme to achieve the same effect a mature title released in 2001 on a Nintedo platform could produce. You still don't get many games with a focus on adult humour, despite in many aspects modern games being a lot more explicit than what you could find in the early 2000s. There is Leisure Suit Larry, the South Park games, Conker, and not much else. There is definitely an audience for it though.
These videos are ALWAYS so well put together and Informative. Edgy Humor is alive and well and I definitely agree that there is a way to do it with good taste. Conkers Bad Fur day, what a Treat!
A modern Conker could easily parody Card Games, MOBA, Kart Racers, Fighters, etc. The original wasn’t just a platformer. It had moments where it was a shooter, a racing game, a stealth game, etc.
I find it ironic people seriously think this game wouldn't slide today. Sure, it's funny and DEFINETELY not for kids, but it is not remotely as offensive as it was 22 years ago. The only reason I think it couldn't be done today is since the people behind this game have changed their tastes and aren't interested in Conker anymore. If anyone were to ever make a new Conker game in this day and age with the humor used in 2001, it really wouldn't strike as much controversy as people think it would.
My dad understood the ESRB ratings (cause he's not a dumb parent), so he definitely did not buy me this game.........my cousin, on the other hand... lol

Conker's Bad Fur Day was one my favourite games ever!!! I played it sooo much. Its hilarious. It blew my 11 year old brain. Its def a gem that really worked for the time and got so much right, in my opinion. I keep waiting for it to come on Nintendo Online Plus. But im sure ill have to keep dreaming lol
No, it wouldn’t fly today. That’s the very reason someone powerful enough should buy Conker from Microsoft and make an even raunchier game with it. Conker’s BFD was not meant for the masses, even though it had a lot of ideas that should be used in modern games (the detailed character deaths and the multiplayer). While Chris Seavor may be ashamed of the game’s immature humor, and may no longer want to work on a follow-up, someone with a similar spirit and creative output could surprise us some day.
You couldn't make Conker's Bad Fur Day today because the updated graphics would spawn a new age of furries who are also diet edge-lords. What a nightmare to unleash unto the world!
Your living in a fantasy world if you think careers of comedians and actors can survive them making whatever they want with no backlash from the woke crowd. Though there are exceptions like Chappelle or Rogan, they have clout and dedicated fan bases cultivated through years of performance. Other than that great video
When people say 'can you make this today' i guess they really mean 'can THEY make this today'? Because have you forgotten about copyrights? Or is anyone allowed to try to remake it? Sure would be nice lol

One option is killer Instinct 2013, because fun fact Chris Seavor worked on KI before he made Conker. Another option is; fun fact Insomniac Games confirmed that Conker was a big inspiration for Ratchet and Clank.

the main reason the remake does not work is the whole joke about it looking like a kids game did not translate as well in the new art style.
