In addition: both names stand for regions or cities. Sancerre is an appelation next to the Loire while Sauternes is in the south of the Bordeaux area.
And the other commentor is right, both red and Rosé are made from Pinot Noir (Sancerre).

A trick I use for the nasal sounds and to know if I’m making them is to put my thumb and index fingers of my right hand, one finger on each side, and say the word, and when I feel the bone in my nose vibrate when I say a word, I know I’m making the nasal sound. 😃💋💋💋

I was looking for you to pronounce Cahors. I ask for it (saying it the French way, like kah-or) in stores here in Dallas, and get blank looks from the winesellers. Then I spell it for them and they know what I'm looking for. But now they are calling it Malbec, and they all understand that. I've visited the city of Cahors for the last 30 years. Love that area.

The French "r" sound is not so easy because there isn't 1 but 3.
    rouge / trouve / amour
3 different pronunciations depending on whether the "r" is at the beginning, at the end or after a consonant or a vowel
    (Even French people ignore it)
So the "r" of "Bordeaux" is different of "Brouilly".
Just to make it harder ^^

Hiya, another fun video... I only drink red wine 🍷😉! (Very good champagne also as my husband only drinks Dom Perignon not that I mind!) Yes in the US they say “mur-lo”, I get yelled at for politely saying it correctly🙁. I 💚languages, pick up easily, recall is hard unless I’m in a foreign country. Food & wine, always get! (Love to cook, helps.) Btw, I “collect” French idioms (any foreign idioms & swearing🤣, auteurs/ écrivains sont bizarres avec des mots!). Would you consider a video on that subject? They’re so interesting! Thanks again! Have a lovely week! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️🦇🦇🦇 PS the silent letter rule reminds me of silly thing I came up with in the 70s. Poor “Q” doesn’t get used often in English so added it randomly. The same with “Z” (was taught British spelling as a child, still use). So qthaznk zyouq qforz zthqe rezmindqerq🤣! (Encore une fois, auteurs/ éscrivains😉!)

Your pronunciation is very clear and helpful. Be careful of the pronunciation (and spelling) of the word itself - check it in a dictionary.
I can't show it in phonetic symbols here, but the second syllable of this noun rhymes with 'bun'. The verb is 'to pronounce', where the second syllable is the same as the unit of weight, 'ounce'. This is a very common mistake here in Australia where l live (made by native -born Australians).

I know many people have trouble with Chateauneuf du Pape. I also hear most Americans pronouncing the c in Pinot Blanc and Blanc de Blancs, as well as the t at the end of Petit Syrah and Petit Verdot, Petit Chablis etc. It really hurts my ears (ça ecorche les oreilles).

If you have problems with the names in french you can just order Portuguese wine... It's the best in the world and you won't have any problem pronouncing it. Remember, Portuguese wine, the best in the world (and much cheaper than french wine)
