I like this review. I started using the downdog app during Covid for back pain and had no previous experience doing yoga. I started with just yin but fell in love with vinyasa. I went from beginner to b2 very quickly. When restrictions were lifted in 2021 i took my first in-person yoga class. The instructor was shocked i had never been to an in person class and told me that i had good alignment and knew all the moves. What i did like about in person vs the down dog app is that in person taught me how to use the yoga accessories like the strap, blocks, lacrosse ball, bolster etc. if you need modifications down dog app doesnt really give you options. So it was nice for an instructor to show me that if im struggling theres probably a modification for it using blocks, etc. My take is the app even on beginner mode really isnt beginner. I feel like you should take a few classes with a coach or class in person to get help with modifications and cues then do the app for your at home practice. Im now intermediate 1 and i use alot of RUclips tutorials to help me get better at the advance poses or modifications. ❤❤❤
@@slave2jayah woooooow! That’s the most detailed comparison!!! That’s so nice that you had both: classes with coach and app! What do you prefer doing now? More app or offline classes?
@@slave2jayah nice!!! I’m using only the app now, because I have to finish my research and find the best practice for me… because yoga is not just a bunch of exercises for me, but also some practice of mindfulness and the exploration of body and its opportunities 😅
@@PolinaKrauze Awesome. I feel the same about yoga. I find it very therapeutic and balancing. Yoga it's not part of my exercise routine for my body but it is for my mind 😊. Good luck on your journey of finding the right practice for you. Make sure to update with a video when you do 🧘🏾♀️
I've been using the Dog Dog app suite for years and I *still* found this review/comparison helpful. Not sure why I never thought to do a proper comparison, but I appreciate you for doing it.
@@NoxDineen Thank you for your feedback!! That’s very important for me to continue this research as it’s helpful. When I come back to Vietnam, I will continue:)

I prefer the app but when I get bored I turn to RUclips.
