I’ve always considered synth-pop and that kinda euphoric electronic music timeless. Because it’s the kind of music that makes you think of images of like a properly futuristic world, flying cars, utopian cities and such, because we haven’t seen that future yet, that kind of music will always permanently sound like the future, if you follow me. It’ll stay timeless and remain futuristic, until we’re seeing and living in the future we’d imagine to come someday.

Stylish as it could be. This "updated" version sounds fresh, relaxing and catchy. It also emanates certain delicateness to our ears, and at the same time projects levels of past memories once you close your eyes and totally recall the original version back in 1986. Some youngsters (friends of my 29-year-old daughter) got surprised when I was invited to a grupal chat in order to talk about music. They realize I'm listening to Pet Shop Boys and one of them vividly asked: "Why do you keep on listening to those guys after all these years?". I said: "Young man, knowing your present, there must be a travel to the past. Things now look cool to you, but deep in your soul, you're looking for something you can actually feel and live it just by listening to it. Nowadays a record goes out every 15 minutes, but floats around for awhile. When you listen to the 80s, you get to know most of the music produced in that decade, it still affects today's musicians. Pet Shop Boys belongs to the soundtrack of my life and they were a key act back then. Being younger than you all are now. I listened to "West End Girls" at age 13. Most of you are almost 30. When you were 13, you could not listen to something you would eventually put it as proof of how great your life has been (listening to music then and doing it now). So why do you think I was invited to this chat anyway?". Then, they all agreed by asking: "Can you please tell us more?" 🎶🎵😀
From day one you both have made absolutely brilliant music. And it amazes me that you can keep re-imagining your music, over and over. This example of an iconic song (as well as others from your catalog) that have been reworked in so many flavors and at different times throughout your careers, don't disappoint. With many other artists there is the original version of a song and it becomes a 'sacred cow' never to be changed or altered and if by chance it does , many times it is bungled and changed into something inferior or lesser and the core/sole of the the original is lost. You both seem to be able to keep the body of the original song, yet allow it to don different clothes and therefore seem new while also remaining comfortable and familiar. Thank you Both!! FYI: I am a lifetime consumer of hard rock and metal but I was introduced to your music by a friend in the mid 1980's and I am glad to say I am still an avid fan of your music to this day.
Close my eyes and listening to this takes me back to my school days can see my friends and memories of some people who are no longer around, its a strange mixture of nostalgia with a hint of melancholy
i was 7 years old when i first heard your music in the late 80's, starting with domino dancing on MTV. I feel like this is my best chance to thank you for your music and expressing how much I've enjoyed it being in my life.

Music is like fashion... it always goes back to classics. pop / synth-pop Today pet shop boys are not as popular as they once was... in my eyes they are Legends... Then, they all agreed by asking: "Can you please tell us more?" 🎶🎵😀
I am 20 something and for me PSB are the best band in the world.
WOW ... what a comment.. exactly how I feel ... PSB 💙💙
There will never be a decade as memorable as the 80s well said in order to move forward to progress to the future we must learn from the past.
calm down haha
@@jimpickens2577 It's OK :D
They are one of the best English pop groups of all times. They are great
A great song transcends time. A modern masterpiece.
Love to everybody in world, especially, the West End Girls and the Pet Shop Boys.
Let's not forget the East End boys! 😁
HIGH VIBRATIONS FOR YOU TOO MARE COSTELLO,FROM «¡THE PURA VIDA COUNTRY!!!» ;-)
i was 7 years old when i first heard your music in the late 80's, starting with domino dancing on MTV. I feel like this is my best chance to thank you for your music and expressing how much I've enjoyed it being in my life.
I bought this tune in the 80's. Thank you gentlemen ! Yuma,Arizona USA

No
Miming
Autotune or lip syncing
@@Standard_Jay when you don't have proofs, don't say...
@@Gazeld He's lip syncing, watch carefully. He's a fraction late a couple of times, plus with singing there's a lot of breathing involved, yet he's just moving his lips. Also, he's 66 years old.
OMG... This just brought back SO many memories, and I still remember every word. Ahhhh...
I hear ya Sandy 🎵80s♥
I absolutely love this. Brings back fond memories from my youth. Long live The Pet Shop Boys !!!!
💜
👍😎👍
👍
I grew up in the 90s with the sounds of Pet Shop Boys' music (my, dad had a few cassettes). I loved them then. And then dove deeper in my teenage years with ownership of a walkman. And now, with streaming music, I continue to listen to these gems. Their unique sound still resonates.
LMAO the way Chris leaves at the end like a Boss 😂
I was laughing my ass off lol
Cause he is boss
Flew away😂
His voice hasn't changed one bit. In over 30 years. Pure Classic
Hats off to those that know that the Boys (our Boys) haven't returned because they never left... 😉😉
Music is like fashion...
it always goes back to classics.
pop / synth-pop
Today pet shop boys are not as popular as they once was...
in my eyes they are Legends...
But... they will be remembered & played again & again way after their deaths.
touch wood not for a while yet.
while today's youngsters only do things their mates do...
listening to the same music, wearing the same clothes.
but ....when they get older ...
it won't be a proud memory.
as trash doesn't survive the test of time.
Long live the best most successful British duo.
This needs to be on Apple Music, Spotify, etc.
For now just have to make do with the RUclips MP3 version
I love this Song.! Best wishes from Brazil.

Saw the Boys at Co-Op Live in Manchester a few weeks ago... I'd waited 40 years to hear this set they played... My God was it worth it! Thank you Neil and Chris - bloomin' marvellous. The word legends doesn't even come close to describe your music or the influence you've had on so many people across the world 🙌🙌🙌🙌🕺😘
J'adore 😍 J'espère vous revoir encore une fois à Montreux 🇨🇭. Mon premier disque était West and Girl. C'est incroyable.
❤❤❤
Sounds so fresh and perfect as it was from the very beginning.
This song sounds as fresh today as the first time that I heard it in the mid-80s. PSB one of the groups to add the soundtrack to my life. Thank you boys!! Love from London - Always!!

I’ve had an awful day, but this made me smile.
I hope your week is a gentle one Simon.
Sorry to hear bud, hopefully you are doing much better now? :)
Feel better!
Hope things go better mate =)
I hope everything is going better now
I love Neil Tennant ❤💖💓
Just fell in love with this song all over again, God I love the 80's! 😎
As far as the vocalist of 80s Brit Pop band Pet Shop Boys is concerned.....although the cute curly hair of Neil Tenant is gone but his voice is still spot on as it was 4 decades back.
