That kid has so much to live for and could be someone how could change the world someday you never know until it happens. Come on FDNY and NYPD and EMS this kid NEEDS to be found.

    • @Tk3997
      @Tk3997 3 года назад +4

      It's illogical to duplicate that capability.
      The police have much more regular use for helicopters then the fire department, with them already having the helicopters and the infrastructure to maintain them assigning them the SAR mission when it's very occasionally needed (particularly in an urban area like this) makes complete sense. Furthermore given the police helicopters main use is already in observation and search, with a secondary mission in very large departments like this of insertion of tactical or specialist technical personnel into hard to access locations there is very significant skill crossover into SAR already.
      It wouldn't just be a matter of buying helicopters, it would involve establishing training, and maintaining an entirely new division and skill set for only occasional use. LAPD also has a significant brush and wildfire operations, where the helicopters provide some truly unique and useful capability, the FDNY has no such operations on any major scale.

    • @apolloniaaskew9487
      @apolloniaaskew9487 3 года назад +1

      NYPD and FDNY share their resources better than ever after the 9/11 report. New York City is the largest densely populated area in the country. It not feasible to duplicate services. Out west the Los Angeles County Fire Department , the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department and the Los Angeles City Fire Department have rescue and fire fighting air capability. What works for New York may not work for Los Angeles. Each city and county has a plan that works for them.
