It's like that one meme "When you are in a one synth challenge but your opponent is Thought-Forms with the Korg Triton" 😂 Very nice as usual. Also at 5:37 for the Vibes EP it is important to turn down the MIDI Velocity a little exactly like you did, I tried to follow your tutorial by drawing in some notes with my mouse (with 100% velocity by default) but it sounded too harsh at first!
LOL - that sounds like a fun challenge...hmmm. 100% on the velocity, forgot to call that out! Any EP in the triton (and any rompler!) you're going to want to go somewhere around 50% velocity or less to retain a more soft, delicate sound. Same with a lot of pads too. It's pretty easy to miss if you're drawing in notes opposed to playing them in. Velocity is SO important! Vibes, drums, anything
everytime I think I need to get some more synths or instruments to get that new sound thought forms just manifests a video like this showing how it is really done hahaha! great vid as always! triton is still a killer rompeler I keep being amazed of the versitility! edit: yooooo the ribbon up top that alternates colours is smart as fuck makes it so easy to see instead of only using the markers!
The answer always lays right in front of you! In Bitwig? Yea dude, the track markers are incredibly useful - can also append session notes to them in the inspector panel. A nice QOL feature that doesn't get enough love!
I really like these Korg Triton videos. I checked out Grey Corp - Global Control. I love it. You nailed the aesthetic you were going for. Love the cover art, too. Inspiring stuff. Thanks for all your videos!
@@Thought-Forms I wish KORG would make the iPad IOS version of it--would love to add it as an instrument to lay down tracks in Korg Gadget while mobile.
Hehehehe Oh man...Paul Hardcastle has some very ethereal smooth jazz, less R&B. Any of his stuff from the 90s. R&B side I took inspo from Strawberries by Smooth, listening to a ton of SWV too
@@Thought-Formsyeah with all of the expansions from the rack and subsequent models built in. I think you’re limited to one effect at a time and there’s only 2 individual outputs

for sure! With any workstation you really do have everything you need in one box. If you can go deep on one workstation, you'll be able to do anything, its crazy
the sounds for the Triton were developed in the 1990s and regardless of when the keyboard appeared on the market it still sounds like it's from the 1990s. come on.
@@c02c02 The sounds may give off the 90s vibe... but it's technically not gear accurate to a 90s tune. Therefore, it'd be more of a 2000s RnB track. Doesn't make the track or video bad in any way. Just saying it's not gear era appropriate. If he did it on his Korg 01R/W, then it would be accurate.
@@netako Au contraire, he's using the Triton Extreme which was released in 2004 which contains a selection of PCM sounds and timbre patches only available in that model and not the Triton. Not to mention its unique valve force circuitry also not in any previous Triton family models.

The Triton can just do so many great things. Another great 90's genre breakdown.
Hell yeah man another classic

First, I am so happy you made a video about this. 90s R&B is great!
Thanks caden! Been on an R&B kick lately looking for beats to sample for DnB, getting hooked big time
your tutorials are super helpful for new producers, ty for making stuff
Love to hear the vids are helpful! Thanks for tuning in

Thank you Mal!
alien ps1 ost is so nice
dont think i listened to it, will check it out! imagine it is fire
Mmm love these 90s genre breakdowns. Just taking this and fusing it with another one of the breakdowns like 1080 snowboarding can be fire!
i have this very vst.thanks for sharing.just became a subscriber.
one of the best VSTs you could own! cheers

I instantly knew it would be Triton haha, not that I mind. That synth is amazing!
On another note; any albums like this from the 90s with that sound?

hell yea. the micro x seems cool - its kind of a mini triton if i recall?

"Make 90s R&B"........ and then speed it up to make 90s drum n bass :D
You get it :)
i never understood why producers use so many different machines when i triton can do most of this stuff

@@Thought-Formshow can you make the triton really shine? Layer sounds, effects I guess ?

Yes... Making music with a 500 dollars plugin... Dammit, Korg!
Only $250 USD! It does go on sale a good bit...lowest I believe is $150? Or $99...one of the two. Well worth if you can swing it

is it even possible? on a Korg? you're kidding :)
Going to bust out the XV-5080 on the next one - and I'll still find a way to tie it back to our lords at Korg 😂

decent imitation, but yea the sounds are to good from this ERA
Bitwig no AU👎
Generally curious, what benefit does AU provide over VST?
