    Hi Nular impressive channel... like to learn please, by hesitating with the mapping (layout) of pads ... Bottom row seems BD SD SD BD right ? Are you right handed BTW ? Thanks

    • @NularMusic
      @NularMusic  Год назад +1

      @- GBoGBo - Hey, thanks! Sure, here's my current pad layout:
      OH T C OH
      C R R C
      CH T T CH
      K S S K
      K - kick
      S - snare
      CH - closed hihat
      OH - open hihat
      T - tom
      R - ride cymbal
      C - crash/china cymbal
      I'm right-handed, but my layout is mostly symmetrical, so this shouldn't matter much. I hope this helps!

    yo u set ur pad veliocity to hard soft or linear >and witch levl

    • @NularMusic
      @NularMusic  2 года назад +1

      @Эмигрант из Питера Not sure about the exact settings, but I set sensitivity to the maximum value so that even very soft hits are registered. The drawback is that this can result in ghost triggering (pads I didn't even touch get triggered sometimes) on the Maschine Mikro. Anyway, I think you should experiment a bit with all settings, and go with the one that feels the best to you.

    I have to ask cause I admire your skills (and I want to see it).... can you blast those pads too?

    • @NularMusic
      @NularMusic  2 года назад +1

      @Iamhated I guess I can, it's just not something I enjoy playing (or listening to) musically. But I can give it a try... Thanks a lot for your support!

      @iamhated1292 2 года назад

      @@NularMusic you play what you enjoy, totally understandable! it's something I work on when I practice, I have the beats in midi clips in Live so that I can play with my guitars but also for learning the beats too on the pads - my pad technique sucks.... 😕

    • @NularMusic
      @NularMusic  2 года назад

      @Iamhated So what do you think is wrong with your technique?

    • @iamhated1292
      @iamhated1292 2 года назад +1

      @@NularMusic well, for technique it's my left hand not doing as much as it could. I need to set up my sets better too. I've been working hard towards a better ambidexterity mostly, it's why I bought my sticks, but a lot of my personal progress comes just from hand to knee tapping as I listen to my favorite metal bands (i.e. off hand leads). Mainly I play guitar while trying to branch out and learn more and new things. Drumming affects my guitar playing in very cool and unexpected ways. ...and it's a great diversion when my high mileage guitar playing tendons are on fire from overuse.
      Thanks for helping to keep me inspired 🤘

      @Iamhated Oh, interesting! I think I was in a somewhat similar situation: knee and table tapping of Nirvana songs as well as occasional access to a drum kit at rehearsals gave me a basic understanding of drum grooves. I always wanted to play the drums, but it felt way too complicated to manage a huge and loud drum kit, so I stuck with my guitar, but my drummer self has shaped the way I play the guitar pretty substantially. In a way I ended up playing drums on a guitar. =) Here's an example of what this sounds like if you're interested (bass & guitars live, drums are programmed): soundcloud.com/pets-prey/ransom-deposit
      Re: your left hand not doing as much as it could: the crucial thing IMO is that you shouldn't ever hit pads with both hands at the same time, at least this is the foundation of my technique. If you keep alternating your hands consistently (using a mirrored layout), your left hand will have no other option but to catch up with your right hand after a while. =) This will also allow you to play significantly faster. I hope this helps.

    what kind of controller stand do you have?

    • @NularMusic
      @NularMusic  6 месяцев назад +1

      @lowlefty I used the Gibraltar GEMS stand in this video, but lately I switched to the (both more affordable and robust) Gravity LTST 01.
