I’ve waited and waited and waited all these years to get my first Toyota based trail Finder. The wait is no longer, I pulled the trigger yesterday. I was never lucky enough to have this truck in high school but my friend had one in white and lifted.
It’s almost as gorgeous as the TF3 Launch. Love it in red, great choice. Although blue looks killer too. Great overview as always!
Now that’s freaking COOL as heaven, I remember this truck growing up!
BRO!!!! THIS is the truck to build the 80s style show truck out of. Like you did with the white XtraCab... dual shocks, chrome Wagon wheels, chrome roll bar, Super Swampers... THIS one!!!
Wow awesome video my friend,, and cool rc car 👍👍💯
I’m a fan and I’m happy for something newly refreshed with more BUT come on RC4WD! For the amount of support monetarily this hobby brings to the table we really deserve some actually new licensed product. Love you but it’s time.
Massively agreed! At the very least, they need to do a COMPLETE redesign on this truck if they're just going to keep releasing it. There's still way too many things that I would need to change in order to be satisfied if I bought one. I just can't justify the purchase. 😢
Agreed...but i still love em😂 can't help myself every time they bring another one out😢😂
I love how the new knuckles keep the steering tight, my normal tf2 is p dang sloppy
I love all my TF2 trucks but the aggravation of installing a battery is why mine just set on a shelf. Lol
Wow! Love this. I was hoping RC4WD would revise the Mojave body. I hope this body will come in body kit form.
Shock length up front as well as flattening or exercising those front leafs....I pull them off or get a new set and flatten them out quite a bit.....or get a set of red leafs and build a custom 3 leaf pack with one red and two flattened stock leafs...lots of flex with the rigidity to prevent axle wrap....you know what's up
Awesome truck we had a real one back in the day 😊it was a blue one and my friend had a red one fun trucks😎
They are awesome, I’m still driving my 1990 which is similar, still small and has the 22RE and it was still called the Toyota pickup. I looked for a long time for a 1984 or earlier to get the solid front axle but settled for the 1990.
Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in... Lol
I'm happy they finally updated some things and changed some things looks great the radiator part kills me but I understand there's only so much a hard body can get
Yeah it appears there was only enough room to have a radiator, or a core support...... but not both. That also hurt my brain when I saw it 😅
Super cool Josh I’m here watching 7:30 AM Sunday, August 25👍👍😎
Man, that’s a sweet looking Toyota body. Love it. Yeah that engine compartment wow beautiful👍👍
Beautiful looking truck 👍
Another awesome video 👌🏽🤘🏽
Order has been placed 😋
OMG an antenna! i got to get it.
nice car! i would probably flit the front leaf springs around so the shackle is in the back. like the 4runner out of the box, the front axle seems to want to go a bit forward when compressed. when flipped around the truck will attack obstacles better n the front. made a bit difference for my tf2
Looking sweet👍👍
You need some Twisted Fab springs.
That is so beautiful!
That's awesome!!!
Actually had this exact Blue 1981 Toyota SR5 short box 40 years ago , , sure wish didn't sell it ...
Nice.....................thanks dude. Getting one from you unboxing yea!
more i see its just a beauty......Need one so nice
I was wondering how the hw fusion would fit. I heard you have to trim the engine bay to get it in?
Yeah I had to trim a bit of the front out of the engine bay. I show it more clearly near the end of the video I believe.
@@RCeveryday oh ok cool i watched the whole video and I didn't see it.
Thanks for getting back to me tho
It may be in the next one, sorry man, they all blend together after a bit. I got ahead on filming here recently.
@@RCeveryday no worries. Thank you! Love the vids.
Did they move the gearbox holder and center shaft slightly higher to not hit the front shaft when bottoming the suspension? And how about the servo horn, does it stay off the front diff now, compared to the former TF2 chassi? Any issues you discovered?
I’m not sure if they moved it, I’ll have to measure. But it has no hitting on anything, and I have already lowered the truck more in part 2 even the drive shaft still clears the trans.
@@RCeveryday Ok, that may be because you have the single gear transmission. My TF2 has the dual gear transmission which is bulkier, and the shaft gets too close to it.
Sweet 😊😊😊😊😊
Love the videos
I found out them axel gears straight cut so is room for improvement $36 helical.
Legit... dress it out like that... Straight up 80s Cali Off-road magazine cover!!!
A ole ford model A would be awesome to see as an RC
I really like it.
Nice video like always Bro! I think I need the blue/white 82 these look nice! Only if they would of painted the throw back stripes instead of decals, would of been on point ! This throw back 82 needs lift blocks, shackles, double shocks and Big meats on it just like the old show trucks! Leaf under = gay lol 😭
Let’s be real, this truck is basically everything the TF3 should’ve been and might as well be the unofficial TF3. So I just ordered one and I blame you 😜
Haha 😂. I’ve been calling it the tf2.8 😝
Wish they would quit putting the mount holes in the bed. I have to fill them and do a bed liner on every one I do.
I’ve always wanted a tf2 I still have my original 2 axial scx10 crawlers. The dingo and the honcho.
@@jacobhendrickson8935 ain't a better time this one has it all.
Looks like the differential is on the opposite side. I dont have my truck with me.
Thats how i have mine mounyed fpr drive shaft clearance anyway
Very nice🤘✌️
I dig it, too! ......so I bought one! lol
Shorter spring hangers
Wow!!!!
👌
Question maybe you can help
Tf2 kit 379
Tf2 kit with Mojave body 399
What’s the catch?? They are selling the kit with the body at only 20bucks difference? Does the kit without the body have more upgrades perhaps? That Mojave body is like 100 bucks ain’t it??
This is a different body, scale engine bay, full interior, more details and licensed. That kit with the body is the old mojave body and both of those chassis do not have the upgrades these newest rtrs have, better shocks, XVD shafts in front axle. I assume they have the kit with body reduced to phase out, the bare chassis will likely get revised with the latest mods and be sold separately at the $379 range. Just my guess on them.
@@RCeveryday I think you mid understood my question. I’m only referring to the kits. The chassis only kit is only 379 while the one with the body is 399. Or maybe you did understand being you did say that perhaps it’s just to clear out stock of the old style Mojave body.
Are they going to discontinue the old body? Do you know this as fact?
I’ll tell you what I really want is the truck you have in kit form so I can assemble it and also use my electronics and motor.
I currently run 2 original scx10s the dingo and the honcho.
I did modify the dingo with a 3 link setup up front plus spiral cut gears and a nice censored brushless setup.
I’ve not had either truck out in 15 years I’d say. But this video and this freaking truck has lit my fuse. lol
I currently own an old school Toyota pickup 4x4 22RE and this makes me want one of these.
Its nice but the platform is over 10 years old.
Something to be said for if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. They tried with the TF3 and it’s not anywhere near as popular. The TF2 is almost like a living metaphor for getting into an older pickup truck. It just works. Same parts. Same expectations. All within the most realistic scale available from any company. When you get into more “capable” platforms, you start losing scale realism. In that respect I’m glad the platform hasn’t changed
It would be nice to see an old ford f150 body instead of just repainting the same bodies all the time
First one
"First one" what?
New? .. really? lol
Annoyingly they still have the ugly phillips screws right through the tail lights which totally ruin the rear end for me. When oh when are they going to address that? It cannot just be me!
SPRING UNDER??!!
Well that was a dumb choice. 4WD Toyotas did not come in a "spring under" configuration. Why would they do that? And it really boils my blood that there's still a giant screw head in each tail light and the cab vents. Also would have been nice if they got rid of those hideous Mount screws at the bottom of the cab. That crap just defaces the beauty of the body lines. I don't understand why they're moving at such a snail's pace when it comes to making needed changes. I still can't bring myself to buy one because of these "mistakes".
Just to get it to sit lower like a stock truck, still limited by the size of RC components.
@@RCeveryday Understood,... But not accepted 😅
I promise you, one day, some day, things will get as scale as they need to be. I totally understand your line of thinking with it.
@@RCeveryday it would just be so refreshing to see rc4wd make an actual LEAP forward instead of these occasional miniscule baby steps.... and releasing it as a "completely new truck". It's a beautiful truck but there's still too many things I would need to change to be satisfied. Still can't justify the purchase. It feels like they're just milking the RC community for our money.
Isn’t the trail finder traditionally leaf under or has it been that long since I’ve owned one quit buying their junk because they’re junk and their service has gone to crap
This is the first one with leaf under
Those are not tow hooks brah 😑
Why isn't this a TF3. 😂
That name will forever be banished, lol
@@RCeveryday so skip it and go to 4. Lol. Or maybe 2.5
New to trail finders, why does the tf3 get so much hate?
It was kind of a step backward, had a disproportionate scale engine, remote servo mount with a ton of slop, and the body it had didnt have an opening hood.
Cause the tf3 is trash 🤣🤣🤣🤡
I wish I could afford one but machinist don’t make crap for money in Obidenfoons America.
What’s your capabilities?? What do you currently do? A machinist is a very broad term. The first shop I worked at the operators ran the machines and checked there parts calling core utility for and type of work offset changes, then you had maintenance for problems, electrician as well. The operator was nothing more than a guy that could start and stop the machine and change tools and even then the tool you replaced came with new offset numbers on them for you to enter in after changing the tool. The current shop I’m at now the operator is responsible for everything. A machinist can make decent money if he is capable of doing it all.
With all that said I agree with him screwing our whole economy up and it will get so much worse if Kamala gets in.
Stop whining, at least you work 😢
With inflation these days I get it bro
I don't know Looks good just like it is👍🛻🛻
OMG It’s a real good 🤌
