T2.1 is more than enough subject separation for narrative. The majority of films where shot on s35 at T2.8-T4. Filming faster than that is largely if low light is required or one or two niche scenes in your narrative.
Thanks, enjoyed the video and your personality. One thing I would like to see in future is more comparison of colour rendition across the lenses, with the same post-processing... the feel and colour of a lens is equally important to me as its sharpness and bokeh.
Thank you, Jason. I checked out your website and dig your work. The top 4 books under the radio makes me ask, are you going to start making narrative shorts where you have written a script with dialogue, are working with actors, etc.?
Wondering if the sigma was dropped because that first wide open shot was insanely bad in the corner for some reason. I would imagine that if my 30 from the same series is so insanely sharp that the 16 should have been as well. But I could be wrong!
I agree I have the 30mm 1.4 for MFT and even wide open it's sharp, became very very sharp center at 2.8 and at 4 its sharp balanced across the frame. This 16mm seems to have a problem here
Great content; I think the mitakon is great for run and gun, as for what you mentioned the chromatic aberrations happen during backlit. On the studio though, I might not recommend. Just a suggestion, maybe change the camera angle when you shoot yourself. Shooting yourself at this angle, feels like your talking down to us, and it feels dizzy watching you. Keep up the good work!
@@jasonmagbanua that's what I noticed as well po. Looks sterile clean. Mitakon has warmer tone po no? And voigt is more neutral to cooler side which is better to grade.. bigat nga lang talaga, twice the price. Hehe.
@@jasonmagbanua looks like internal glass is off (Maybe some one dropped it) From my experience it should be sharpest lens from the bunch. Maybe some one will lend you a different copy cuz review may be harmful for sigma.
I got my Voigtlander at less than half price! It's a work of art! I think at this price it can't be beat!
I like your enthusiasm throughout your video. I think your tests were very well orchestrated. Thank you.

Totally agree. Although I am coming from an events videography background where we work mostly with available lighted.
Had thr meike 16 didn't care much for it but it was clean I now have the mitakon 17mm. Love it

It's was the video I was looking for ... Thanks!!
Please export your 1080p in 4K, it get less compression on youtube for better quality
Wow. Such a nice put together video. Waiting for the next video.
Awesome review.
Thanks for this informative comparison!

Lip sync was off after 6 min!!! Questions answered help clear some questions 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Glad it helped!

You only have to multiply X2 for the crop factor if it's not made for the mft, but running on an adapter is my understanding. Is that not correct?
Nice comparison review sir Jason. Well-detailed.
Thanks man. A lotttttt of time spent
I like the Voigtlander! I'm a gh5 user as well
Cannot go wrong!
You compared the cheaper Meike lenses I'd like to see the more expensive Meike compared to those lenses.
I'll try to get a hold of that.

That is a very welcome point. Im new to this thing and every suggestion helps. Appreciate !
I like the look from both the voigt and mitakon. Do you think the Meike look more clinical or more like a character lens?
Very clinical IMO

Thanks Sir Jason! Very informative :)
Great review! You deserve more subs. Subscribed!
Grabe effort sir! 👏 Looking forward to more videos
Appreciate it!
Maybe my copy is fault, but I don't find mitakon sharp. I've compared it to Leica 15mm.
Good video and lenses compared. 👍🏻
Idol ko to 😁
Wonderfully clean Meike glass...too clean imho... 😅 Thank you for this amazing content sir!!!
Most welcome!

What's the difference in the Meike $400 lens and the $959
T2 is not the same as f2
There is something wrong with yout sigma. My copy at least on apsc is super sharp from 1.4 on edges too. And yours looks like damaged one.
it was a loaner - maybe from extended use?

doubles as weapon...lol
They all look pretty bad
