Hey everyone! Dev of Grapple League here. Thanks so much to everyone again, chat was a ton of fun to read and Connor was as entertaining as ever! I was a bit sleep deprived when Grapple League made its appearance, but it was awesome to see.
I'm really pleased to announce that a new patch for Grapple League dropped today! Patch 1.2 addresses nearly every piece of feedback I saw in chat and from Connor. It nearly completely revamps worlds 1-3(the ones Connor got to) with new artstyles, new obstacles, new decor, and more. It also adds new systems, like dynamic boost gain and a style meter!

I know this issue kinda unfair but you can look at karlson demo since the grappling there feels smoother and you feel like you always have a momentum

I actually met the dev of Ignistone in Japan. It seemed like he just wanted to make a simple mobile game focused around the feeling of parrying in games and build the entire gameplay loop around that. He explained the bad decisions he made during development and I feel I learned a lot listening to him.

@@naritruwireve1381 Hahaha, there's "lore" in PO2 that hints at the events of POP OFF 1, a game we have waiting in the wings of the "incredible speed running scene's success of PO2" we aimed at capturing 😅
We learned a ton making PO2 - like how it's actually REALLY easy to make a multiplayer game (technically, this game can run 100 clients in a "Bottle Royale" format, but you need to have 100 players to show it off 🤣
Ah well, cool to see someone download it at least!

Ah well, we learned a ton and had a blast making / playing it with a few other creators - the PvP mode with friends gives, "shoving your friends off a cliff" vibes that were the best 🤣

Glad to see Backpack Hero get some love. I bought it when it first came out in early access and it’s been great seeing the devs be active and make the the game even better. It’s a fun comfort game for me.
I bought Backpack Hero after watching this and it's been a blast! The initial character is plenty of fun, and there are also additional characters which mix up the gameplay, sometimes significantly.
If anyone likes Zepps Cafe I recommend also playing Coffee Talk! I imagine it's inspired by it, and there's similarities from the gameplay to the universe being humanoid etc. it's a really sweet game with two episodes that captured my little heart ❤

I've only heard about Buckshot Roulette recently, and it was a video of a dude playing the game under a challenge. The challenge was if he lost the game...then he would have to watch "Chicken Little". It's a good video.

Im really happy Connor played Backpack Hero, its one of my favorite games, though some of the later chars you unlock are super frustrating (in a fun way) to play
Fr the game is so fun, I love how complex the different builds and characters are. Although it does have the problem of some builds relying on getting a specific legendary item and you have to get lucky if you want to do that build

Yup. That's especially a big problem in mobile games. They'll have you stuck in a tutorial for half an hour before you get the free roam. Sometimes you have to beat a couple stages before you can even get to settings, which is extremely annoying when you want to change something in those settings.

I love this series because I find lots of hidden gems. Last time I bought Killbug and loved it, this time I got Buckshot Roulette, Toss and Printersim. Looking forward to playing them :) Wishlisted a couple others.
Blood West is super good, played the whole game and loved it to death. 10/10 would recommend.

Conrad Stevenson’s is a cool game! I’ve watched a ton of the development. It’s a solo dev project that takes a story based approach to ghost hunting, it’s much slower paced at the beginning but instead of surviving ghosts you’re using context clues to diagnose and unravel the story behind the ghosts death. Big fan of it! :D
Thanks for highlighting these games for us Connor, it really helps when I'm tired of playing AAA and competitive games (I'm an average valorant player) and just need a little break from them. Cuisineer looks really fun to play, might try it later.

So I bought Blood West because of this stream. Easily 10/10 worth every penny.
I dont think they ever sent Connor the game but recently i had tried a demo on steam for a Claw Machine game, and immediately my first thought was this is a game for Connor.
The creator even admitted it was inspired by Connor lol. Though i dont think hed play it because he seems to have enough claw machine in his life already
Toss is definitely amazing. I waited until it was on sale because I wasn't convinced but when I actually played it I loved every minute. Backpack Hero's also solid. Love that game.

I dont understand why he hated Biscotti so much. She kept the place from falling apart after your parents tricked you into taking over the restaurant and sold all the furniture and cookware. She's helping you figure out cooking after your life of adventuring.
This is exactly why these devs sent you these games. Any publicity is good publicity, and imo this is a wonderful showcase.
My only criticism is that I think Connor underestimated how long it would take to clear this many games, resulting in a 12+ hour stream where he was pretty conked out by the end and didn't have the energy to properly assess the games near the end of the list.

From personal experiense, never played the full releases of these games but buckshot and backpack hero both were amazing on the testing phase.

While I don't agree on many of the takes, and a lot of the later games got the short end of being judged after hours and hours of streaming other games, I'm overall glad to see that Connor does approach games with an eye to design rather than the recently-alarming realization I had that a lot of "gamers" view games solely from a consumer perspective. In my day, being a gamer was hand-in-hand with being an armchair developer-yes, usually a pejorative, but it also meant we cared about a game's vision, not just its execution.
