I found IMR4350 and 143 ELDX a good accurate deer load and recoil acceptable with 39gr if I remember correctly. Not a really fast load . My whitetail was all of 250 to 300 live weight last fall and he only went 30yds after a heart shot.
Good for you as a dad getting the children involved & interested in shooting and hunting. My son bought a 30/06 when he was 13. It was 7lbs fully rigged & loaded. So recoil was stout. I loaded 165s with IMR 4350 & W750 in the low 50s grain weight. We got 2400-2500fps. He harvested a young buck. The next year we stepped up to 52.0gr. W760 and got 2600fps. He bought a Witt Machine muzzle break and it tames full house loads to 243 level. Go get em young ladies. Enjoy.
My son had a Ultradyne muzzle brake on his Savage Axis 2 in 6.5 Creedmoor and its like shooting a .22lr. The load is 40g Accurate 4350 and a Hornady 147g ELDM. Haven't used a chronograph yet because we don't have one but it is shooting less than half M.O.A. at 800.
Another good video thank you yes. I've got a rugar American predator 65 and I used the staball powder and the extreme spread standard. Deviation wasn't that good but it shot good And velocity was higher than the H4350. I have never tried IMR4350 . If the weather lets me today I'm going to try my other loads out that we talked about on your other video yesterday and I will let you know my results.
@thewashingtonreloader the staball 6.5 good group but es40 sd19 not so good. Ram shot hunter 2713 2712 2710 2712 average 2711 es 3 sd1 . 2.840 length Winchester primers hornady brass 44.5 grains of hunter powder . 140 ELDM bullets That's the best that I've ever done. I normally use H4350 but the hunter powder seems to blow it away.
I would agree with you. I have recently tried reducing the bullet weight and my daughter did great with her rifle. Shot under 1" moa at 140 yards. Thanks for the comment.
Your velocity was to low for my liken just about averybody uses H4350 not IMR4350 with a 140 to 143gr bullet at 2700fsp + - just about all the recent loading books will give you a charge to start with

That's awesome. My oldest daughter is 10 and this is the first step in having her go hunting with me in the next couple years. Thanks for the comment.
One you find low S. D. Then start experimenting with seating depth to get max. Accuracy.
Yep. Haven't played with seating depths yet. Future video. Stay tuned.

Awesome, I'd love to hear about your results. Please keep me posted.

For ligher recoil I would drop bullet weight instead of velocity.I think you'll find more reduction that way.

I’ve got a pound of imr but there is no data in my hornady book for it in 147 gr. I’ll try some of these loads considering H4350 is $65 now.
Try h4350 really good powder for the 6.5 creedmoor
Can you suggest a load for me to try?
41 grain to 42 grain I run 140 grain berger vld hunting velocity in 22 in barrel 2700 fps
@@allenkyer1954 thank you for the info. I'll give it a try in a future "subscribers suggested" video I'm planning.
You welcome for info

I get it but these loads are for my 10, 9 and 7 year old daughters. Need to start them out slow. Thanks for the comment.
