Perfect for exploring the Fisherfield 6 and the Torridon ridges his summer, they've got everything I need to enjoy the hills and cover the terrain with ease, due to the excellent protection and comfort they offer. Highlands here we come!
Just the job for my next West Penwith, Cornish high moors walking long weekend this spring, visiting sacred sites, and scrambling up the tors, and some coastal path walks as well.
The shoe will be perfect for my sky high rise adventure in New York. Looks robust enough for a full day trek up the Empire state building and style aplenty for the obligatory shopping in Macy's. Can't wait.
Bought these from Bedminster. Standout feature is low volume and a snug precise fit. However their weakness was only revealed when I wore them outside scrambling: poor grip. I was constantly slipping on rock- never experienced anything like it, lost confidence and went down. I can’t take them back now so I’ll just use them on trails and get a different boot for the mountains.
I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I own a pair and haven't encountered any issues with mine so far. Were the problems you experienced related to wet conditions?
A perfect hike through Grasmere in the Lake District, up past Easedale Tarn and onto Blea rigg-Sergeant Man and Tarn Crag back into Grasmere staying overnight in the village, so looking forward to it in May. These boots/shoes are very comfy I believe, so I think they'd be great to put them to the test on this venture.
I have both the Mtn Trainers 1 and Alp Trainers 2 and can say, if you hike in easier terrain, not rocky or not scree then the Alp Trainer is a better option. They are more flexible and cushy. I'm using those as my main boot now for my weekend hikes. The Mtn Trainers were definitely the right choice for when I went to Durmitor in Montenegro.
Learning to scramble in snowdonia in April, and a highland trek in Iceland this summer, and Via Ferrata later in the year - need something tough enough to get me through it all safely - this looks ideal!
Is this the update for the Mountain Trainer 2. Have they gone from Trainer to Trainer 2 to Trainer again in their product development? I'm a bit confused as this is a new video so I guess it's a new boot
I have the Salewa Mountain trainers Mid that I use for trekking but I would love these for warmer days around the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley when I’m leaving my pack at home.
I'm booked to go to Skomer Island off Pembrokeshire next month to see the puffins and other wildlife. There are 80+ steps to go up when you arrive and rugged paths, so the rubber protection around the bottom of the shoe will be great. It could also be pouring with rain, so having some truly waterproof shoes would be great.
I'm about to retire and plan a trip to the Galapagos Isle walking rather than boat based and on to Easter Isles followed by a slow wonder up the UK visiting the peak district Yorkshire moors Scotland for some extended walking. Before that are my weekly walks are on Dartmoor and a quick trip to Lundy. Next year plan to trek to K2 base camp. The MNT mid boots sounds like the boot for me.
I’m heading to the Brecon Beacons so these boots would be ideal for lots of hiking there. Plus I’m staying in a double decker bus which I’m looking forward to 😊
The multi fit insole is genius in the mid, however the shoe would be perfect for when I do a multi day hike over the Tocto pass to Machu Picchu in August next year, thanks for the opportunity to win a pair.
Off to the Brecon Beacons to do some landscape photography and it would be great to be going these boots. One thing with these gear reviews, it would be nice to have one of your staff using them for six months or so and then doing a follow up video on what they liked and things to be aware of from actual use. For example, as we all know, some things get more comfy as they bed in, others wear in places that you only find by use.
My next big adventure is the Tour du Mont Blanc in June! Will be doing plenty of hiking and backpacking before then including the South Downs way to get prepared!
Back up to Hadrian’s Wall in May. Not walking the whole wall this time. Taking time to visit some Roman sites and see friends this time. We will get in some walks though.
Living by the foothills / mountains of the Snowdonia national Park, these MNT trainer mid boot would be an ideal pair of footwear for my weekly trek up the hills and the mountains.
Walking the Yorkshire Dale macmillan mighty hike. To raise funds for this amazing charity. They have helped my wife immensely during her breast cancer.
My next big adventure would be on my doorstep, the beautiful Quantocks. Haven't been up there for ages but with a pair of these it would make for a perfect fit together 🤞🤞
Wow what a nice boot would lovely to win these as I’m hoping to trek in Canada in October for my birthday would be great to win these for walking there, many thanks 🙏
I'm looking forward to going hiking with my first child, (baby arrives early April and we are going to the Isle of Man in the summer (before that walks in The dales
No real big adventures planned this year just lots of small local ones in the brecon beacons with my 2 young boys, my oldest who is 7 wants to come camping with me over the black mountain range of the brecon beacons soon. So that should be a fun adventure in itself.
Not necessarily, it will depend on the socks you use and the width of your feet. We offer an online fitting service that will be able to offer you a more informed opinion ... help.tauntonleisure.com/support/solutions/articles/36000281919-expert-help-request

I'm going hiking and mountaineering in Slovakian High Tatras next month, so Salewa MNT trainer 2 mid boots seem like a pretty good choice.

Summer in Austria, need to keep up with my young son, these boots look great.
How does these boots fit to wide a foot? Should I go 1 or half a size up?
If you are looking at these boots for a wide foot I would recommend going up a 1/2 size

I'm about to retire and plan a trip to the Galapagos Isle walking rather than boat based and on to Easter Isles followed by a slow wonder up the UK visiting the peak district Yorkshire moors Scotland for some extended walking.
