As I've started practicing hung kuen I realized that, despite his being a good petformance, it"s meant to be just for show, fast and agile. As you you evolve in your practice of hung kuen, you realize that the forms are to be done not swiftly but steadily. His postures ate too wide, which is incorrect. He skips a lot of moves of the traditional forms, wrongly executes others, etc... but him coming from a wushu-sport school, it"s not surprising. They do things differently, mix a lit of styles in a single form, and basically just focus on performance, not effectiveness. But I guess that all schools suffer from that, one way or the other.

The stances give it away that this guy isn’t a Hung Gar guy but a Nanquan Wushu guy. Somebody must’ve told him “Oh, traditional stances are easy, you just take your Wushu stances and make them higher!” which isn’t correct. Still, it was a good video and I liked the sound effects and music. They make it more fun to watch.
Nanquan means southern fist. Chinese kung fu (Wuhan) has many branches. It is mainly divided into southern and northern kung fu. This master (sifu) is practising southern kung fu. northern kung fu has more kicks.
Giovanni Mendez if you want to learn southern kung fu dont go to a temple, instead go to hong kong. the best traditional southern style masters are there

This is an ok demo form but not much real Hung Gar being performed this form is made up its not an original form in Hung Gar.And his stances are really bad the grounding which Hung Gar is famous for, is more or less gone here.Sure he moves fast and makes it look cool cause he is a Wushu performer and this is what they do.
