    On 12/29/23 I purchased a brand new E450 with 20 miles on the odometer, came out to roughly 75k. On my drive home the car lost power and left me stranded in the side of the road. MB dealership fixed it once gave it back after a week, it broke down again same way as before leaving me on the side of the road. I got the car back 2 days ago after 3 weeks in the shop. Needless to say I am in the middle of a lemon law buyback with MB let’s see what happens

      Wow that's harsh, I've gone right off Merc. myself (having once owned a C class) as they're just going too generic and their reliability is just going backwards, give me a Genesis G80 or BMW 5 series anyday! And good luck with your buyback hope it works out well and in your favour.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Год назад +1

      Yea it's sad to see so many new cars literally breaking down some vehicles like the Z06 Vette and Jeep GC literally have their transmissions dump while being unloaded from its shipping trailer.
      But I'm sorry about the inconvenience you have suffered, I too hope the lemon law works in your favor. Do you mind sharing with us what your next purchase might be?

    Something you may find interesting about Australia our top sales by their group, 1 Toyota/Lexus, 2 Hyundai/Kia Genesis, 3 Mitsubishi/Renault/Nissan, 4 Mazda, 5 Ford, 6 VW group, 7 SAIC Motors, 8 Tesla, 9 Subaru, 10 Isuzu. Hell even BMW beat the Stellantis Group LOL.

    are you kidding?? I am a software engineer in California and I have no interest in using fancy touch screens in a car. Since I make applications on web and mobile devices, I am already exhausted looking at those so called high tech gadgets. I even got an offer from lucid motors, worked on the lucid air dashboards at their headquarters for a few weeks and simply quit because it’s so tedious.
    my favorite cars are with V8 engines and a lot of physical buttons.
    a lot of my engineer friends don’t like high tech gimmicks in these modern cars.

    They should’ve kept the 3 star logo on the hood, the one on the grill makes it look cheap. If the grill one is so good, they should’ve put the same one on the S class.

    I used to own a 2020 GLE450 and the build quality was horrible. Lots of rattles and many electronic issues. I was crossing shopping with a X5 and hindsight should have bought that instead. I can’t opine on the E classes but I would think their quality and reliability are materially better since they are built in Germany and is an important high volume model for them. I like the new E class exterior styling but really don’t like all these screens in the interior. I guess having all these screens helps to increase the UX for boring cars like this so yeah makes sense. Ppl want more tech these days. Think about fixing these screens post warranty.

  • @sixdonuts

    All this tech is just more stuff to break, maintain and wasted trips to the dealership. Sorry, but my time is too valuable to be spending at a dealership. Also, why isn't double pane glass and sound insulation standard on an E class???

    Looks decent. Im sure the interior still creaks. Nothing could look worse than the new 5-series, so theyre winning right now but that is a low bar again, thanks to BMW. Interior on this definitely looks worse off than the 5. It's interesting how much overload Mercedes expects you to pay for. Youd think banishing the entire interior of the car to what is now just some screens, that the costs would come down because they dont need to source all these woods, metals, leathers and suedes. Apparenty not.

    Living around them and admiring from afar seems the best for me. They are gorgeous, but I think the Japanese upper level stuff is just too good. I think reliability may not be what THE priority is. The luxury experience should be everything good. To say that something is well built but not reliable makes no sense. How can they be mutually exclusive? Beautiful but hard pass. The best shouldn't spend much time on a flatbed.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  Год назад

      Probably the best stance to take many will be quick to say these claims are overblown, sure there are those with perfect experiences who say just do maintenance and every car will be reliable. I've quickly realized that's not the case, there are new vehicles that break down while being unloaded from their trailer on arrival at the dealership to be sold.

    Never ben a big fan of Mercedes. I know its alot of people's dream vehicle. Especially with the Mercedes S-Class. I've liked the GLE design, but nothing to exciting about. But something about the E-Class to me has always had a Classy appearance about it. My Aunt had a 2009 which i thought had a very nice look until someone Totaled it. Now she leases the GLA in recent years that likes. But mentioned with her E-Class it felt like driving a Vault which she liked. I liked the styling but it felt to heavy to me. Doing research i see that the Mid to late 2000s E-Class were considered reliable. But over time they weren't. I kinda stopped liking the designs by 2018. If i had the money i would just find a older low mileage E-Class maybe a 2014( like that body style) drive a 2022 Toyota Avalon as a Daily and the E-Class on weekends and Roads Trips. 😏

    One small recommendation: Never buy any model from any manufacturer the first year it launches. Wait for a year then buy the next year model. You will always have issues on the first launch models. I have owned Benz since 1980. No issues with any model so far - started from w123 to the latest G63. Today, I would not buy any Mercedes except the G63/SL63/V class and AMG Gt models. BMW/Audi offer better car for the value on most models. However, you can get massive discounts on the EQE, EQS and electric ones now.
