Excellent as always. Lots of good info presented in a very understandable way. I forwarded this video to my sister who is going there when we can travel again safely. Thanks.
Mate, you are spot on about Fukuoka. IMHO it is one of the nicest cities to just relax in, walk around and chill out. If I wanted to live in Japan, then Fukuoka would be on my short list of highly desirable cities. Great cafes, good music and I can definitely recommend the October Festival beer. Really friendly and relaxed people too, which is kind of typical of most Kyushu folk, to be honest.
Very Informative! We plan on flying direct into Fukuoka for our next trip to Japan for a few days then head down to Nagasaki. Do you have a review of Nagasaki?
I lived in Kyushu for many years and have been to Nagasaki before. Make sure you go to peace park that is where the atomic bomb was dropped. Also try the green tea cake, it is very popular there.
Chris the side street food is better in the winter months. They are all warm inside and when you are the hot food it will really warm the body. Along with food Fukuoka is known for the mentikon. One more thing you missed two major attritions, first is Fukuoka tower and the second is the Yahoo dome. Other than that pretty spot on.
I am wondering, how much Japanese would I need to know to get around Fukuoka? I know that in remote areas it is nearly impossible due to language barriers. Tokyo and Kyoto is very friendly due to that, will I have trouble if I know zero Japanese? I know some phrases I am definitely not fluent.
We are going to Tokyo for 6 nights, Kyoto for 5 (including going to Osaka) and then going to fukuoka for 3 nights and then taking the Shinkansen back to Tokyo. I hope the weather is April is warm, we intend to swim 🥵🥶. I know that’s a long ride back, but we’re Canadian where 4-5 hours on the road is just life.
@@YellowProductions would I be correct in that the train ride would be “free” since We’d have 14 day JR pass (like, the pass covers the train back to Tokyo) whereas a flight we’d have to pay extra for?
Holy moly this guy goes everywhere. He has a video for all of my stops lol
Right on 😀

I think you'll be OK in Fukuoka without much Japanese. It's still a reasonable big city
Fukuoka looks really nice! I'll definitely have to try the ramen if I get a chance to go there!

You could also consider flying from Fukuoka and connecting in Tokyo to go home

I can't wait to go! :)
I hope I don't get lost trying to figure out the shinkansen to Tokyo.
Fukuoka to Tokyo is a long Shinkansen ride. 5 hours. It's pretty easy from Fukuoka though.. there aren't many Shinkansen tracks at Hakata station
BIG thumbs Up Brother!!!
Thanks :)
Just got back from my first visit to Fukuoka! Lots of useful info in your video :-)

How many time you traveled to Japan?
Without really counting I'm going to venture a guesstimate of 15 to 20 times
Good basashi in this part of Japan.
