ppl were wondering about his *firstmen blood* .. because it is believed you need first men blood to be a greenseer.. well he does have first men blood actually. His Grandparents are the children of Alyssa Velaryon… her mother is Alarra Massey of Stonedance. Masseys are first men. There ya go 🤟
There is also the bit of Green seers being very rare among wargs 1/1000 should they live that long. So I highly doubt Daemon is a green seer or even a warg. As George has said that dragon riding is not quite the same as warging. Though the interesting thing would be if dragon riders bond with their dragons like wargs do with their animals. Also makes his fight with Aemond and his dragon a bit tragic.
As to your last question, "where the fuck is Sheepstealer?" is it possible the dragon bones that Daenerys and her small khalasar find near Vaes Tolorro are the remains of Sheepstealer? (Daenerys I, ACOK)
Thank you so much.
It's also theorised as well that the Targaryens in a way, warg their dragons.
@@gholamdapantaloonsniffer8218 I didn't think it's same, wargs go into animals, it's more than a bond, maybe dragons can be warged but due to there being a lack of wargs in east I doubt it. The 3 eyed ravens have even warged into something complex as humans. Also via magic Targaryen do have blood of the dragon and a side effect is the fact they can have malformed lizard babies, they are dragon kin
The fact one man can just invent this universe and all it’s own unique, infinite and complex creatures, absolutely blows my mind. I’m in perpetual awe of Mr. Martin and Mr. Tolkien.
It's because they didn't create it.
Welcome to YOUR real world.
The history, at least.
The history you've been taught is false.
Fact is myth ; Myth is fact.
You've never wondered how so many literary works, tv shows, and movies are the exact same storyline with very similar characters and powers?
Not coincidence.
Names may have changed in the stories but...
It's all very true for the most part.
i was just telling my wife the same thing! It's almost as if someone actually got hold of some old scrolls or something.
There's power in the imagination.

I’ve always been fascinated by Catelyn Stark’s capacity to only see the world the way she wants, to the exclusion of all else. She was so focused on the individual weirwood trees that she missed the entire forest.
I think Daemon was intelligent enough to know that if he wanted the Iron Throne, he only had to get Caraxes all fired up to take it all by force. I don't think he actually wanted it, myself.
but like his neice said she didnt want to rule over ashes i think he would of felt the same way i think they got it wrong in game of thrones the lenisters belived you either win or you lose i think thats the illusion that runs throught the whole series in "game of thrones there is no winners just death and loss
@@brendonrookes1151 wait...What did the lenisters belive again?
@@brendonrookes1151 Because the Lannisters (perhaps an insignificant offshoot of the lenisters?) believed (not sure, but might be something similar to beliving in lenister talk) "in the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die." So....that's kind of, not the same at all from "there is no winners, there's just death and loss." Because, what about the winners and the people that constantly...yakno, kind of live? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think those lenisters have a goddamn clue what they are talking about bud
@Nicolena I agree with Nicolena to an extent. I don't think he wanted it either. I think all Daemon wanted to do was drink, fight and fuck. And he was sick of the drinking and his penis didn't work.
@@Jon-pw2ik i stand corrected ceric says you win or you die in game of thrones my mistake been awhile since i seen it
With all due respect and no underlying connotations, you have a beautiful voice.
Okay unrelated but I'm SO HAPPY I stumbled upon this channel. It's rare that someone who looks and sounds like me has nerdy channel like this and I just want to share with you how proud I am of you and how happy this makes me. ❤️ And THANK YOU for digging into this very specific piece if lore
Here reiterate this months later lol
Gray spitting FACTS this is so interesting to me, love daemon and Bloodraven. Both are pivotal targs and those similarities are no joke. Great video !
Just moved to ocala FL. we have lake weir and little lake weir, Starke town, natural springs all connected together, my favorite spring, Kings Landing, and massive mosey oak trees everywhere!!!
I have wondered for quite awhile who predated Bloodraven. I agree that having the omnipotent power of the three eyed Raven would tempt Daemon away from the iron throne.
George RR Martin put a lot of thought into names. I learnt that from him. Names are so important. You are definitely onto something Gray.
Check out Charles Dickens - he created the names thing x Oliver Twist etc just so he gets the credit he deserves.
Some have been saying Daemon was living with the children of the forest. Others say he might be the night king.
Yes it would be great to see The Children, I just want more fantasy elements in HotD.
We do not know the nature of Daemon's relationship with Nettle. She might have been his mistress, or she very well could have been his bastard daughter. Nettle left on her own. Some people believe that Nettle became the wood witch that is still seen around. However there is no spotting of Daemon after his fight with Armond Targaryen. Which I find odd. If he had ran off with Nettle someone would have spotted them. Even if they were in hiding they would have surly resurface after Rhaenyra was killed, and his youngest son became king.
I also believe that she is Daemon's daughter. 🤔🧐
in the books, the affair with Nettles is disputed. Some sources say he had an affair, other sources say Nettles was like a daughter to him. One source also swears they had separate rooms- Nettles and Damon, and Damon was indeed treating her like how daughter.
Mysaria, Daemon's old mistress, is the one who tells Queen Rhaenyra that Nettles is sharing Daemon's bed. AT this point, daemon isn't really sleeping with Mysaria anymore and it could just be a vengeful tactic on Mysaria's part.
Rhaenyra believes it though, and orders the Lord whose house Nettles and Damon are staying in to kill Nettles. Daemon comes to know of this, and sends Nettles away on her dragon quietly. Then he leaves. It could have been an act of kindness towards a lover or a daughter. We have no way of knowing. These are 3rd person accounts, often based on rumours and half truths.
Either way, even if Daemon had an affair, he's not a traditional lover or husband when it comes to sex. Don't think that means much that he had affairs. He still cares about Rhaenyra. Or he wouldn't have jumped onto Vhagar, knowing he'd die.
Also, I don't think Daemon survived. If he did, he would have come back. That's his character.
@@CW-rx2js
Rhaenyra ordered the execution of Nettles because of the turncloak dragon riders such as Hugh the Hammer. She grew paranoid Nettles would do the same. She tried to execute another dragon rider, but he escaped as well. In a twist of events, he actually died being loyal to Rhaenyra and faced 2-3 other dragons of the traitors. He died, of course. Rhaenyra was shit at war.
In one part of the book, at King’s Landing, she even dismisses being told Daemon was sleeping with other women. I don’t remember the exact line, but she said something along the lines of, “Let Daemon have his trinkets and I’ll have mine.” So I don’t remember jealousy from Rhaenyra towards Nettles. Just paranoia of the “dragonseeds” who had tamed dragons after two of them grew power hungry.
Hugh the Hammer thought he was the prophesied hammer that would “destroy the dragon.” He wasn’t. That turned out to be Robert Baratheon. No one can knowingly fulfilled prophecy in the books. Anyone who tried, often tragedy followed after. Almost as if fate would not let them if they knew the prophecy. Robert did so unknowingly. Daenerys wakes dragons from stone without knowing the prophecy.
In fact, its speculated that perhaps the mad king, Rhaegar Targaryen, Rickard Stark(Ned’s father) and Brandon Stark(Ned’s brother) knew “the song of ice and fire.”
Its speculated the Stark “King Who Knelt” to Aegon the Conqueror did so because he told him of the Long Night/Winter that would come again.
It’s even thought that there was a “pact of ice and fire” between Jace Targaryen and Cregan Stark. What exactly entails, history doesn’t know. A marriage between Jace and Cregan’s bastard sister, a gift of a clutch of dragon eggs, an oath to fight the White Walkers together by uniting their houses in marriage. It could be all of it. Afterward, Jace died, but Cregan lived to tell his heirs to the Winterfell of the song of ice and fire. And when Aegon III took the throne, Cregan was very protective of him and may have told him, being king on the iron throne, of the song of ice and fire.
So, both families knew this song until the Targaryen king, Lord of Winterfell, and their planned heirs all died within a year of Robert’s Rebellion.
Supposedly, then the White Walkers rose. Even the Night’s Watch had forgotten how to fight them. Anyone who knew of the prophecy had just died. The time was ripe.
Blood raven and Howland Reed are my two favorite characters from the world of ice and fire and asoiaf!
There is another, sadder way his story might have ended. He might have survived and made it to the Isle of faces, only to be sacrificed to the Old Gods. Dragonriders would not have been looked on kindly,. A rogue prince would have had royal blood to offer. And… Leaf’s heart would have grown heavy and ready to leave behind the world of men.
GIRL!!! You’re speaking my tinfoil love language. Ahhhhhhh, love this theory! ✨

Opened my eyes for sure. Exactly why you are who you are. I hope they use this route it’s so interesting. There’s no way this isn’t the truth.
It would excite me to no end if they explored magic with both Nettles and Alys Rivers. Love this theory!
Loving this video, great start to my day.... nothing like fantasy worlds to take the sting from the real.

Girl!!!! I am so proud of you!!! I’m a fan!!! A HUGE FAN!!! You’re making me want to get the books!!! It in now!!! Thanks you Sis!!!
The actress that played Missandei would have been a better/perfect choice for Nettles.
Also I think Sheep Stealer is the dead dragon (bones) that one of Dany's Dothraki found when she sent them to explore the red waste
I think that actress was too tall to play her
No, she is too beautiful and old to play the role of nettles.
@@deanfirnatine7814
She was also too old and too tall to play missandei. She's only 10 or 11 in the books..
@@Anantinfinit
Missandei is supposed to be 10 years old
Great video. This is my stupid theory. What if... Daemon, being George's favorite character, became some type of sorcerer and appears in Winds of Winter???
That would be awesome
K-K-K-KELTIC……… not “cell tick”. 😁
Girl you should do audiobooks your reading voice is stunning
Gray day! I have been absent for a minute but I always love hearing your insights. Thank you for all that you do and the amazing analysis you provide. I got my popcorn ready!
Yaaaass! I always thought that something more was up with Nettles than what we've been told, and also Daemon's body never being found was suspish AF!!
I'm here for this tin foil girl, theories like this are what made me start watching your channel years ago and not stop 🥰
Watched this video twice because I LOOOOVED THIS JUICE!! Thanks for spillin’ some tea for us all!
I don't think that Leaf is Nettles. Now I believe that she may be the old witch living in the Mountais in the Vale.
"If someone tried to give me Harren Hall, they don't really fuck wit me like that." 😄😂
I love how excited you are about this. I freaking love GRRM writing
I think the point is that worging has something to do with the dragon riders. That she is not actually leaf but she is supposed to remind you of her and to hent at the connection of what worgs can do and the dragon riders.
I don’t comment enough but you have the most soothing voice! I low key wish you did audio books haha I would listen to the whole GOT series again!
Thank you for doing these GOT videos. You're appreciated.
This is some really good theorizing!! The best fact based theory I've heard and it's super intriguing!! Good work 👏 👏👏
Omg 🤯 I’m loving this theory!!!!!! It’s never sat right with me that his body was never found. Damon was smart and could’ve killed aemond without sacrificing caraxes or himself. Thank you again Lady Gray!!
I'm not looking forward to this 😭😭
I didn’t realize all the similarities between him and Bloodraven until you put it all together like that. That is some pretty dope shit, Gray! Thanks.
I didn’t notice until you pointed it out, but Nettles is absolutely a CotF style name.
I can't remember who it was (probably michael talks about stuff) but he said that Sheepsteeler is probably in winterfell when bran and party leave the crypts to run from Theon. They see Sheepsteeler briefly. It was such a bomb drop and I forgot about it and haven't heard anyone talk about it either.
A Clash of Kings - Bran VII
"The smoke and ash clouded his eyes, and in the sky he saw a great winged snake whose roar was a river of flame. He bared his teeth, but then the snake was gone. Behind the cliffs tall fires were eating up the stars."
Loved this video, listened to/watched it like 3 times now! Keep up the lore :)
In show version Bloodraven WAS NOT in the Cave for 1000 years. The man said he been in the cave for thousand years. Bloodraven is one of Aegon IV Bastards.
All I can say is I love your juice Lady Gray and please keep it comin!!
Your the best Gray. I’ve never read the books so your knowledge of them is priceless. I’ve been following you for years. You’ve got the tea.
yay!! glad you're back!!
Finally I found some Deep, Fresh, Compelling new theory material! Excellent video!!
Keep up the great work!!
This all comes together so well. I honestly feel like based on the pieces that you put together, that the nettle/leaf connection and Daemon having survived, etc was a real seed planted by GGRM. I just hope that it is one that he tended too and will actually mean something and wasn't just dropped. It's all so compelling!! My kind of tin-foil indeed.
Baybeee 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I’m a florist and when I first read about Nettles I started thinking about Leaf and was like OH OK, George 😉Nettles has to be one of the children of the corn I mean forest and I wonder what she’s all about and what she’s been up to All This Time? You da best, Gray 🖤
Have you followed 'Talking Thrones' rewrite of the final season? His second 9? Such a complete, imaginative, and satisfying conclusion.
Just found this channel and I'm loving it 😁
Yeah the Children of the forest Are a round in this time period house of the dragon 🐉
I’m invested into this channel. I like the verbiage and slang, it really makes the story engaging.
This was a good video. The Bloodraven storyline is one that intrigues me the most.
Oh man having NEW ASOIAF content to cover is just wonderful! So ready for HOTD!!! 🔥 🐉
This end of this video got me thinking about how Bran sees that dragon looking like a worm in the sky spitting fire or something I don't remember how it goes exactly but what if that was Sheepstealer he seen destroying Winterfell. Because something happened because no way did the Boltons do that much damage themselves. There were destruction of Winterfell way beyond what they could have accomplished themselves. Destruction to the tops of some of the towers etc. So something that could fly and could cause alot of damage had to cause alot of Winterfell's destruction. The Boltons didn't do a whole lot of destruction there. Yeah they did do some of it but nowhere near the amount that there were. But they get blamed for it all... Lol....
Anyways now I believe that that was Sheepstealer that Bran saw while warging summer. I hope we find out in future from one of the last 2 books
I DIDNT KNEW ANYTHING OF THIS!!!
HOLY...... HOTD IS GONNA BE AMAZING 😅😅
I could listen to you all day 😄 good stuff
This is my hands down favorite theory mix it makes so much damn sense
Grey- you are such a genius. I love how you suss this stuff out!!!!
You have made my life so much better. Thank you .
Great video, Gray! But don't worry about going long, especially when you're at your best like you were in this video : )
Love the theory about a secret CotF village being underneath Harrenhall! And I hadn't looked into the nettles is leaf theory before but it actually seems plausible!
And you're pretty much the only reason I'm kinda looking forward to the Dance with dragons show, your excitement is contagious, lol, just don't get your hopes up too high, this is HBO after all 😬
As far as where sheep stealer could be, my tin foil answer is that it was the Dragon released from winterfell that we saw in Bran's POV!
But more realistically, it probably either died at some point or flew north of the Wall with nettles (if that is Leaf) Though, now that I say that, we know from Queen Alysanne that that's not possible 🤔
lol, she is making you look forward to a new series? what is wrong with you.
@@michaelnkomphela8231 Gatekeeping looking forward to things? Really?
Mole’s town always reminded me of another secret tree town, but it’s never mentioned if there are weirwood trees or a grove there. I like to think that there are weir wood trees throughout the topside of the town as it’s so far north, and maybe all of it hasn’t been discovered, mayhaps it even goes as far as the wall.. mayhaps even as far as the wall, to Gorne’s Way. From there Gendel’s children split some staying in Mole’s town and the others headed east, taking ship to Skagos where their cannibalistic ways were not frowned upon. *Super tinfoil* if true then Basel’s blood isn’t the only King Beyond the Wall’s blood in Winterfell, but Gendel’s through Skagos, and Ned’s grandmother (I believe it was) is from Skagos. The kings of the north are part wildling twice by blood.
I love this one Gray!!!! Awesome theory!!!
Thank you❤️
Secret tree town makes me think of Greywater Watch.
BTW Harrenhal feels like a place that was made to survive the long night/winter.
Seems like the greenmen didn't like having it next to their HQ.
Darksister's wounds to the tree still not healing, means the sword has special anti-weirwood properties. Also I suspect that slashing at the tree was more than just to count the days, it feels like someone torturing someone else, so there could be a literal soul of someone Aemond was related to in the tree.
I believe more than likely the last stand in the long night will be at Harrenhall
@@Captain_Insano_nomercy I could imagine someone wanting to renovate it, like Stannis with the NF.
You know who else sacrifices sheeps? Craster, to the Others. Awesome video.
You know who else sacrificed sheep?
Everyone! Or at least everyone who raised sheep in the RW. What other mammal would one sacrifice that was smaller, thus cheaper for lesser people?
@@Egilhelmson It's called symbolism, look it up
Awesome theory. Makes me wonder who'll replace Bran in the cave if he becomes king of Westeros in the books. I also wonder if Harrenhall is inhabitable, because the children ensure through magic that it isn't. Who would want destructive humans, next to the headquarters of your magical forest network.
Great way to start my day!!!
Excellent! There’s definitely validity to this. I’m with you all the way!
So Daemon being in the previous three-eyed raven would sort of explain why Bloodraven took Dark Sister with him. He could have found out about Daemon through his connection to the Weirwoods and used his exile to return the sword to his grandfather.
Love your channel!
I love this so very much. Also, an extra oddity, not sure if it’s relevant, Lord Mouton who features in Sheepstealer’s arc is translated to Lord Sheep. Mouton is sheep in French, prolly not a coincidence. Thanks for all the juice.
Girll i love your videos you should do one about old nan and her backround
You know the lore better than me. I’m really impressed. A lot of other channels don’t back up their theories
I love your intro. Thanks for the great video.
Girl you are just amazing
GRRM writing is so beautiful. I listen to him every night before I sleep and every one of his books have made me cry.
If this is true, that could even mean that there is an internal conflict between the Children of the Forest, one side we have the one Beyond the Wall at Bloodraven's cave, and they work with the humans, while on the other we have the ones on the South, residing on the Isle Faces, who possibly even control the Others, they may had worked with the Bloodstone Emperor, and the more sacrifices were made on the Isle, the more their power grows. Maybe Bran, was never meant to be King at all, maybe he'll end up becoming George's Sauron, and the Children on Isles, are like Morgoth who will pull the strings on Westeros until the Ring/whichever throne needs to be destroyed by Jon/Frodo with the aid of Dany/Aragorn.
It'll be like this: "One Throne to Rule them All".
Ll
But bloodraven had northern blood, that's where his
Greenseer abilities came from, I thought.
He’s a bastard with the name Rivers so he’s from the river lands. But his mother was a Blackwood who is the only family in the river lands that keep the Old Gods
I appreciate your insight on all things GOT and HOD!
I love these the most!
the female smallfolk are often have plant names- like Tansy. I think Nettles is Daemon's daughter
No way Targaryens don't sleep with their daughters.
I love the earth magic elements of all of George's stories in this world. (Blood sacrifice is what powers all the magic, including earth magic. It's very Meso American. You have to give to get. Feed the gods blood to keep the fertility and riches coming.)
Great theory 🙌
