Daemon stole the show! And Corlys is so done with Viserys' bullshit, he's a man of action, he doesn't care about lavish ceremonies, he and Daemon will f*ck s*it up in the step stones 🐉🔥⚔️
Also my heart breaks for queen Aemma and the cost for the obsession to produce heirs.
Just a brilliant adaptation!
Jane Seymore probably died from a partially retained placenta. The midwives were not allowed in the room, only the king's personal physician as Henry wanted what he thought was the best for her and the baby. He didn't understand that men didn't generally deliver babies and midwives were the total experts. The doctor didn't seek advice as he was too proud and figured he was the best.. so she died. Probably preventable 😑
There was no hygiene at that time. The royal midwives did not understand the necessity of 🧼 washing their hands with soap and hot water. Most women died of puerperal fever; bacterial infection of reproductive tract. Horrible way to die. Yes, absolutely preventable. Gods bless sulfa drugs & antibiotics!
She died during childbirth??? What about Anne
@@user-ro7gr5dd3s Do you mean Anne Boelyn? She was beheaded at King Henry's command.
There's a funny song that helps me remember.
"Divorced (Catherine of Aragon)
Beheaded (Anne Boleyn)
Died (Jane Seymore- Childbirth)
Divorced (Anne of Cleves)
Beheaded (Katherine Howard)
Survived (Katherine Parr)"
I hope this helps!!!
@@TheTam0613 I know Anne’s story pretty well but I thought he beheaded all of them so thanks for the song, (although I can’t figure out the melody to sing it 😂)
If she had lived, Mary would have taken her head eventually.
My faves this episode were Rhaenys and Corlys discussing the ridiculousness of the tourney. I can already tell they have such a unique and strong relationship that I'm gonna love.
@Utube Fknsucks what was unrealistic there, lol?
@Utube Fknsucks L
@Utube Fknsucks And Dragons are the most realistic shi! ever shown on Tv?
There must always be a Stark in Winterfell = Ice … There must always be a Targaryen seated in the Iron throne = Fire… Awesome!!!
The stark in winterfell is a reference to the fisher king mythology, look it up
I liked all the characters but i was pleasantly surprised by Aemma. When i was reading the book, i couldn't "feel" this character. But in the show, i felt her pain and her agony. It was a great performance although a small one. I also enjoyed the fact that Otto Hightower was so "calmly" cunning!
When I first heard Otto Hightower speak in the first episode I thought "What the?! His voice sounds a lot like Tywin Lannister!"
@@jay-el-bee He even said that in one of the interviews that he was trying so hard to not act like Tywin lol
Yeah, In the book Aemma was only mentioned briefly, so I was surprised that she had as much screen time as she did.
@@Darkstar_Dayne Oh, wow! I didn't know that.
When I heard him speak for the first time I was just shocked. I imagine that might be a thought all of the actors have, if they've watched GOT. It's probably in the back of their minds all the time!
Initially I really, really wanted there to be a show focused on the North- White walkers, The Wall, Night's Watch, etc.
But so far I'm really liking this show!
@@jay-el-bee he reminds of Vary and Tywin
I like how the Iron Throne looks like it is described in the books. I like Corlys Valarians character. How he put his hand over his cup. He wants to keep his wits at all important times.
Daemon is by far my favorite. My man straddles the line of a good guy and a straight lunatic. He’s labeled a psycho but I think he’ll be in the good side in the end
He’s my favorite too
i don't think he's a psycho at all. Daemon....like Tywin Lannister, knows that you have to do shrewd things at times to achieve certain goals. Butcher a few criminals to send a message throughout the entire city to clean up their act. You don't need criminals running loose in the city when all the nobles come to visit.
Do you know this has a real life parallel? Back in 1974 when Kinshasa, Zaire was to be the stage for the heavyweight fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman....their dictator Mobutu didn't want the thousands of people coming for the fight to see his city as one full of criminals. So they began rounding up all the city's criminals. Many were never seen or heard from ever again. End result- the city was never safer than it was in the time leading up to the boxing match.

It's just so ...yesss, Juice!!!!
I started thinking about Tyrion's birth. Maybe Tywin had to make the same decision about Joanna. He did say "you who killed your mother to come into the world", Tywin couldn't live with the decision of choosing his unborn child before his wife so he projected his guilt onto Tyrion. Cersei also said that her mother bled to death because Tyrion "ripped her open". Maybe Joanna told him to save Tyrion knowing she wouldn't survive, it could be another "promise me" situation and that's why Tywin never got rid of Tyrion but still blames him
😳😳😳😳😳 you on to sumn
Corlys, Daemon and Rhaenyra are my fave characters so far! loving the CGI, the music and the cinematography are amazing!
Agreed
I love Rhaenys aswell, actors who play Rhaenys and Corlys have soo good chemistry
I Agree!!
Agreed
Rhaenys will be so much fun
YES! 😩🙌🏽⛵️ I LOVE that you defend Corlys & his actor as strongly as you do, because he completely sold me on playing him before I even saw an episode, but now.... now that I have seen him?! He is PERFECT, and proved that all of the racism & complaining, was for naught. He's GREAT.
Corlys is a man of action, he's a determined man, he's a man who doesn't have time for anyone's scheming & bullsh*t, and... this actor is portraying ALL of that so perfectly. Loved every second of it!
Him & his wife's relationship is so solid too. I love to see it. I'm gonna get my life watching those two this season. Cannot wait to see more.
Agree
@Lamonte Johnson omg it’s not tokenism ! It’s a fantasy world for goodness sake. If you actually read the books you would know that black characters already exist. There’s even a black dragon rider who will be introduced in latter seasons. Sure they changed the house valarion to black but oh well, it doesn’t change the outcome of the story nor does it change past events. The whole thing will still make sense. In fact it will make a certain plot line easier to understand without spoiling it.
Planetos is the equivalent of earth in the books. Westoros is just a continent in planetos, meaning there are many different races of people and species. There was trade in planetos from east who west, north to south. People moved about..We don’t even know a lot about Valeria where the Targaryens and valarions come from, we do know it was full of different kinds of ppl.. hence why it’s absolutely possible to have a black valarion house. It’s not that hard…
@Lamonte Johnson Lmao! Trolls trolling in blackface.
@Lamonte Johnson I don't know why people need to state their race, as if it makes their opinion anymore important.
I don't know what Black Panther has to do with ASOIAF. Black Panther is a marvel series.
As you aren't used to ASOIAF, you would know that there are black characters in ASOIAF.
Corlys skin colour isn't even mentioned in the books so white is incorrect. Nobody had a problem when Grey Worm was played by a black guy and his character was never described as black either. Areo Hotah was also played by a black man in the show.
Some characters who were in the books who were black never appeared in the show. There was a black woman and her daughter her ran a brothel in the books but were cut out of the show version. The show had some white redhead woman called Ros play some of the parts that a black character in the books did.
There was also some exiled prince in the books who was black.
Another I remember was a red priest who Tyrion meets.
GRRM who wrote the books said he planned on originally making the Targaryens black but decided not to because many Targaryens were bad people and having a black race conquer a bunch of white people wouldn't have been right.
Targaryens are a different race, a race of valyrians who survived the doom of valyria. As did house velaryon.
Then there is the "realistic argument" which is the belief that medieval Europe was 100% white but this claim is disproven by historians who have found many different ethnic groups lived in europe in the medieval times and even before that. Especially during ancient Rome which was an empire that ruled across 3 continents. There have been remains of africans found in britain. Plus you had moors who were either Berbers or black africans in Iberia. Nubian people would come to Europe as fellow christians who allied with Christians in Europe.
The idea of race wasn't a thing until the age of colonialism. That's when these views became such a hostile thing. So people before then were not slaves or treated worse. You also had people of higher classes. Even in Tudor england they had hired black africans.
However nobody will bat an eye if medieval fantasy has foods like potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins, corn etc as these foods were not in europe until colonialism as they originate from the americas. So your chances of seeing food like that are lower than seeing a black person but nobody is complaining about food.
Many who complain about Corlys didn't care about the character or acting, they cared only about the colour of his skin. Just as you have done.
The books definitely show that there are other black characters but the original GOT show had not included them for some reason. The author isn't the one complaining, just people who want something to complain about and have to turn everything into a negative thing. If a black character on screen is the problem, then you don't have to watch the show.
Yeah the birth scene really made me hate Viserys too. The thing is that the Maester said it was either both died, or they could try and save the baby. So instead of telling her the truth, where she might've given her consent anyway, they just held her down and she was completely terrified not knowing what was going on. Horrendous.
Great premiere though. I think the casting so far is excellent.
Your breakdown was EVERYTHING! Loved the commentary 😄😄 It's especially great when you add the background/historical context to each scene. So happy we're back in Westeros.
Viserys and Daemon are my favorites so far, their performances were phenomenal. Everything about this episode was great. I really hope they put this much effort into the rest of the show.
I think Ser Otto lied on Daemon too. All the clues are there. Otto makes the accusation; Otto confirms the accusation (allegedly); Otto had been campaigning forever to get Daemon exiled to the Vale; Otto notices Corlys starting to back Daemon to the council...it makes too much sense not to be true. For Daemon's part, I think he took a page from The Hound's playbook and refused to argue w/someone who was never going to believe him anyway. God I can't wait for Otto to get his just desserts.
The actor who plays Otto is just, man! The outfits for everyone and the show is great man. Won’t say perfect but a great first episode!! I think your right though obviously since they cut away and don’t show him say anything.
Yes....i equate Otto Hightower to Petyr Baelish. The one major difference is that Otto is more highborn and very wealthy....which makes him more dangerous than Baelish.
Think about it....Otto is hand of the king. His brother rules at Oldtown. They are extremely wealthy. Apparently this fella Lyman Beesbury who is also on the small council is a vassal house that pledges fealty to House Hightower. So that right there tells you that Otto is stacking the deck in his favor on the small council. Then once Otto gets his daughter to sink her hooks into the King, they will have full control of him. Its definitely one big power play by the Hightowers.
@@BazookaIke his older brother rules oldtown, iirc
@@mattschwartz7583 yup you're right
Of course he lied!!!
How about when king Torrhen stark bent the knee, he made sure his heir would pass on the message to have Targaryen king at the throne. But Need Stark never knew about this as his father and brother were both murdered by mad King. That's why he joined Robert's rebellion.
And the fact that they were best friends 😉
Good point!
Both ruler and heir died of both houses
I cried so hard for Aemma. She didn't deserve that. 😭
And it really happened in Britain right up to and including the Victorian era. And those husbands probably wouldn't even bother to hold their wife's hand as she was murdered. They'd probably be out partying and looking for their next sex object and heir-producer.
Corlys and Rhaenys stood out to me. I already know I’ll adore them from their dialogue and true power couple energy. I also like Daemon. He’s INSANE but I love his character as of now.
Love that you addressed the “Corlys” feedback and that you mentioned: “it’s not a safe space”
Anyways: team everyone: but the Hightowers! Lol.
Still some crazy fragility in a few of the comments, though. SMH
@@cjtorres5917 Yup.
I keep hearing everyone saying that the wound on King Viserys' back is nothing more than a sign that the Iron Throne is rejecting him. I sorta disagree here. The paranoid side of me is thinking that there's more to it here. I believe someone may be poisoning the blades on the throne. Not a poison to kill the King. That could cause too much trouble because it would be murder. But to get him sickly and weak, accelerating the process of finding a new heir.
I can't help but question the fact that they mentioned how the festering wound on his back won't heal. That's not normal. A simple cut doesn't fester like that. You clean it, bandage it and it heals quickly. There is something at play here. It also wouldn't surprise me to find out that someone has been sabatoging Queen Aemma's pregnancies.
From what i understand of some claims regarding this era....their are rumors that the Maesters have even plotted. That they wrote the history for this era, controlling how its all remembered. Its also worth noting that the maesters all study in Oldtown, which is the seat of House Hightower. Lyman Beesbury who sits on the small council is vassal house of Hightower. it seems to me that there is WAAAAAY too much influence from Oldtown over this king. They are definitely controlling him from all angles possible.
I couldnt agree more I think he is getting poisoned too and I agree about her pregnancies being sabotaged. Everything you said makes alot of sense. Episode 1 was amazing and I cant wait for the next one.
There could definitely be some back stabbing going on I mean it is the Iron Thorne , kinglanding , Westeros we are taking about. Everyone is constantly screwing over their grandmothers for power. Lol
But women of This time frame in our own history went through a lot of miscarriages , still births, or infant deaths . It was very common to happen.
He has cancer. Bleeds easily and wounds that don’t heal…
@@davidmancini8286 It could also be tetanus, I mean it is a 100+ year old iron thrown
@@scumbagdyln it definitely could be tetanus and the stuff the other person said but I was thinking its entertainment so it cant really be any of those boring things. Lol
Uncle Corlys is my fav by far! His non verbal lines give so much context! Even though I know the lore and everything goes down, I am team Daemon and don’t understand why they didn’t just marry him and Rhaenyra. Great breakdown!
Viserys has a strong personality and I enjoyed watching him shout down small council. Vultures. This is Viserys with a dragon temper (that he tightly controls) I loved it.
I am kinda sad that they are going to age up Rhaenyra because the actor that plays her is fantastic
Very true. I really liked her. Thought she did really well. I wish her delivery of "Dracarys" to Syrax was done a little differently, maybe have her voice break while she says it (though the delivery was most likely dictated by the director), but other than that, I loved her performance.
Yes Milly Alcock is so good. Rhaenrya is my favorite character so far. Everytime she is on screen I cant take my eyes off of her.
@@made-line7627 gotta remember Daenerys has a tyroshi accent in her high Valyrian while Rhaenyra has never seen Essos so it’s gonna be different
@@made-line7627 it is her accent.
Surely they can age her up without replacing her. They did GOT that way.
Steve Toussaint and Eve Best as Corlys and Rhaenys have got to be some of the best casting choices I've ever seen. They both work so well seperately as each character and together as a couple. The chemistry was there and they just felt so natural with each other.
I'm shaken by the birth scene, not because of how graphic it was but because of her having no say it in. I love your rant about it 👏
It routinely happened in Britain from medieval to Victorian age. It was the husband's choice even in the Victorian era.
Yep, super disappointed that other reviewers have skipped over the topicality.
Other reviewers like Talking Thrones have mentioned this scene. Remember the king was given two choices: save the baby or let BOTH die. I think he should have told the queen tho.
@@anubys7540 yep. It was very clear from mellos and the show runners that it was either they both died or the child could maybe survive. People are overlooking this. I agree he should’ve explained that to aemma. she most likely would’ve said save her child. pretty sure they wrote it without him explaining it to get people fired up though.
Yes, they talk about the scene, and about how barbaric it is, but don't mention how topical it is, now, in 2022.
I never knew how much of a dominant force the targaryans were. They had shyt on lock!
And did!!
Oh yeh, this was excellent. I was expecting it to be decent from early reviews but it was better than decent. For me, Paddy Considine stole the first episode as Viserys, so much depth to his character that I wasn't expecting and Paddy's delivery was on point. That said the performances were good across the board. Milly Alcock as the young Rhaenyra was also much better than I was expecting.
Paddy’s face when he gets the news that Aemma is not going to survive the delivery and he has to chose a iffy procedure that may save the baby. His face when he comforts Aemma and the switches to help hold her down. Wow! I’m a Neonatal ICU RN who attends C/S deliveries every day but have never seen that level of blood gush. Even I was cringing and teary eyed at how awful the birth went.
@@aliciahowell9617 Yes, they just sliced her open with no skill or precision!!!! They butchered the poor woman. I'm sure they take better care carving their dinner roast than they did that poor woman. It was awful. And I had 2 c sections!! And it amazes me that they are Maesters, but didn't even have the thought that if maybe, JUST maybe, they took a little care in the delivery, they could have POSSIBLY saved them both???
@@kendraraffington4947 in the old days (real life) this is how they did a csection. Science evolved to cutting low and across vs vertical. A lot of women died before they figured out how to do it.
When he said they tried to turn the baby to no avail, I wonder if they only did the belly or if they reached inside to turn. I had a csection in 92' with inside stitches only, because my hips where too small to turn him.
I liked the queen straight away and I am sad we barely got to know her.
@@kendraraffington4947 I mean these people are the best in their fields, and if they say that there is definitely no way to save both of them you gotta believe them(unless you believe in that whole maester conspiracy which in my opinion is bullshit)
That C-section scene stayed with me! Once I knew there was no turning back I felt like, Damn! Can’t you at least give her something to knock her out! I know I know , she had the limit of “milk of poppy” without harming the baby, but, well it was all for nothing anyway. Instant Karma!
All the actors did such a great job and the writing was really good for the first episode. Daemon, Corlys, and Rhaenyra are my favs so far. The actors are just incredible. I also geeked out during the "Promise me Rhaenyra, promise me..." scene. Such a good throw back! Also Aegon had "A Song of Ice and Fire" premonition?!?! Holy smokes! That's some big news.
We didn’t get much but Rhaenys “the Queen who never was” and Corlys are my favorite contenders but I’ve loved them since I read about the Dance of Dragons. I’m excited for their future scenes and how they play into the story on screen.

Rhaenys stood out to me, also Rhaenyra, and to be honest Alicent as well.
BUT!!! Queen Aemma was the most impactful for me … what happens to her I … well I’ve just been thinking about it since the episode aired 💔
I gotta, kinda/sorta, defend the king. Lady Aemma should have been given the choice, 100% agreed, but Paddy did such an amazing job acting with his face that I can't help but get the feeling he was in shock, he couldn't make a good call or do the right thing because he barely understood what was happening. It really felt to me like auto pilot, like the master said, so I've gotta do the thing. I'm willing to bet that this version of the king carried that mistake to his grave. Love the review. Can't wait for more.
I don't think he knew how violent it would be, but once it started, it couldn't be stopped.
@@Charmayne7 that's what I "loved" about this episode, we went there again. There's something to be said for not holding back, when done correctly.
Also, I almost completely blame the maesters, this has me sold on that theory.
@@morganmayhem1120 I think that it was especially horrible for us understanding how c-sections are supposed to be performed, with the utmost concern for the life of the mother, that watching them so cruelly butcher her was just appalling.

Rhaenyra is my fave (for obvious reasons!), Daemon coming in 2nd as the bad boy with a heart of gold lol, and Corlys coming in 3rd bcuz he seems to be the only one objectively focused on the real issues brewing... honorable mention to Cyrax!
Corlys, Rhaenys, Rhaenyra, and Daemon are my favourites so far. That being said, I was blown away by Visarys’ performance; I wasn’t sure about him at first, but he really wowed me.
Kay. I also cried. And… what if Rhaegar told Lyanna (maybe Arthur Dayne too) the secret that is passed down. If Jon was going to be his heir, he might have told Lyanna. Then Lyanna’s “promise me, Ned”, would be about Jon, but ALSO, passing down the secret. Which Ned never did, which would be why he still feels guilty, and that he didn’t fulfill his promise! Cause to us, he did, he protected Jon. But he never go the chance to tell him the rest.
So glad you are back. Love your analysis as well as your attitude.
Way too early to pick a favorite. I too love that the dragons look different
So far Corlys is my favorite!!! I want to see the war for the Step stone! Missed you!!!

It made me very angry when Lady Aemma wasn’t given a choice. I’ve never read the books, but as soon as the maester said, “it sometimes becomes necessary for the father…”, I knew what was about to happen.
When it was all said and done, I was already calling it “The Murder of Aemma”. I realized, then, that the thought I was having about what happened to her Viserys likely thought to himself. Especially after Baelon died. He likely feels he murdered his wife and son for nothing.
She would have died either way. Baby was stuck in breech.
The child was breached and she was going to die regardless. The baby had a chance. The method of extraction was awful though
@@alikarol3 I knew they were both going to die. My problem was that he didn’t ask her about the operation first. Then once they began the operation, she had no clue what was happening UNTIL it began. At least be asking her she’s made aware of it.
Instead, she died not only in pain, but terrified.
@@irecipherus7150 it funny because my mom and I were watching that scene and she said she would wanted the baby to live. But she also agreed that the wife should have been told, and the way they did it was unacceptable.
Girl I am soooo glad we have new material for you to break down and discuss with us!!
I missed you and your videos! I’m so glad it’s all back! (I waited an episode or two so I could binge all your new content ❤️)
Yasssss my queen been waiting for this!!!
I went in cautious and they hooked me. Don't let me down HOTD! PS...great to have you back for these break downs Gray! My favorite by far .
Edit: I'm torn...I kinda want to hate Daemon but he might also be my favorite at the same time. Anyone know any good therapists?
Same!!
Millie is a joy to behold.
I LOVE your channel! I've watched some of your character videos so I figured I might as well subscribe with the finale coming up. I'll need your channel to get me through until season two when the Dance begins.
I love your comments of the Dragon Pit! I have retired racing greyhounds and they are such sweet, lovely big dogs. Mine are the same way trying to crate them on the rare occasions they crate up. The dragon being herded into the pit was just like my hounds kenneling up.
Gray, girl I am loving this can I just tell you chile!!!!!!!! Daemon,Rhaenys and my uncle Corlys are my faves!!! I’m straight hating that Pimp Iceberg Slim Otto who is giving me the parents of R Kelly girlfriends. Queen Aemma’s birthing scene broke my heart when she was trying to get away from Maester Mellos I cried so hard for her. She tried so hard to give him a son. It seems he loved the idea of a male heir more than he loved her.
As for Corlys, thought he did great. I have one thing to say to any haters, unlike all the Rings of Power character changes, this was approved by the author, so if you disagree, you are saying you know more about the world than the creator of the world.
I'm ok with the change because GRRM is ok with it. But disagreeing doesn't mean people are trying to say they know more. People just like canon to be canon, and i respect that.
@@BazookaIke people are r*cist
@@BazookaIke I agree, I'm so tired of the racist label being thrown around because the people we actually HATE are the corporate suits in the board room saying "insert X character so we don't get blasted on Twitter like GOT did". The meta has poisoned film and TV stories. We know these days that things are done to appeal to X, Y, and Z demographic. It's not that he's black, it's that it made zero sense given he's got Targ blood. Overall tho I don't mind, let alone, hate the character. He's doing good
I agree with Bazooka about Cannon, and I agree with Coyote that just because you dont agree with a character choice, it doesnt make you a racisit. My main point here, is we have the author and creator of the world giving his stamp of approval, so that is impossible to argue with. No, if we were talking Rings of Power, I would completely agree that they made the changes just to be woke. Personally, it thought he looked and acted great Sunday. I also believe that later when there is some debate about who the real father Rhaenyras children are, the fact it is going to be more obvious. To summ up. When in doubt, I go back to GRRM. If he wrote it, said it, or approved it, then I gotta go along with it. Just my 2 cents
@@billybubba8344 well and this was my main issue too, the parentage that is put in question with Laenor and Rhaenyra. Doesn't him suddenly being black just kinda sorta make all that make less sense? It made perfect sense at first because Targ features + Targ features = brown eyed brown haired kids was a big no no. To me it just feels like some HBO exec pointed to a character he knew little about and said "make him black". I mean any character being race swapped is a better choice besides a Valyrian
The first moment I went “Awwwooooo, they did it!” Was that shot of the dragon fly over kings landing in all its glory, knowing the last time we saw this, Danaerys was destroying it. Awooooo!!! So good.
I thought Paddy Constantine? Was my favorite acting performance. It was a wide range of emotions just for one episode. When he started screaming at everyone, you felt he was king.
My favorite performer is Paddy Considine. He was AMAZING. My favorite character on this episode was Rhaenyra.
Who does Paddy play? I'm not familiar with the actors names yet
@@jenv2402 Viserys. The weak King. Outstanding actor
@@trediaz4012 he is.
Missed ya..🤙🏾this show is gon be 🔥🔥
"grinds down that shit like he's tony fucking hawk" 🤣
Missed you SOOOO much! When you did your intro my heart melted. Keep doing u boo! You’re amazing 🤩
I been waiting on this!
Ok , I have watched your videos all through GOT. Love it when you read from the books to give us more insight to characters and situations.
I have never read the books probably won’t either . So it’s just the shows for me. So I don’t have alot if the hang ups some do when comparing the show to books.
Plus I didn’t end up hating GOT at the end like many others did. So I was always going to give this show a chance. I mean lots more Dragons 😃 you would have to pull me away!
I really enjoyed this first episode. It did a great job of showing us who is who , giving us some of their history, with each other and why some have hatred or loyalty. I loved all the little nods to GOT , and I really wasn’t expecting them to be speaking High Valerian. Nice surprise.
My favorite right out of the gate from his first moment and first scene
Daemon Targaryen 🥰
His character is the kind of character you know you shouldn’t like , but you do , until he does something he shouldn’t, but then you say .. but deep down there is good in him. Lol 😆
He’s just a good guy out in a bad situation .. see I’m already making excuses for him. Lol
Of course second will be Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen..
because I was alway Team Daeny they did my girl wrong in S8 . And at the end when king Viserys said to her about the prophecy, how there must always be a Targaryen on the throne. it really made me mad at D&D lol .
I’m super excited and pumped can’t wait to have many season of this show.
When Daemon took care of all the criminals it reminded me of Bronn doing the same thing. It’s a crude job but it had to be done. I empathized with Otto at the beginning but him sending his daughter just made me hate him. Also, I’m happy that Milly Alcock looks so much like Emilia Clarke. When Rhaenyra was facing away from the camera she looked just like Daenerys. So glad you’re back to fill us in on the stuff we missed.
Rhaenyra, Rhaenys, Daemon, and Corlys were my favorites. All the actors slayed it in this first episode.
I don't think Otto lied, I think he twisted it. I think Daemon probably said, but in a grieving sort of way and Otto turned it into Daemon making it a mockery. Because the best lies always start from a place of truth.
I think the prophecy is even more tragic than you said…
SPOILERS
I think it dies with Rhaenyra, and is only uncovered again later by Rhaegar
Thanks for adding the spoiler tag! Much appreciated ❤️
It's the only way it makes sense really, because his prophecy won't make sense otherwise
I can think of evidence and arguments both for and against, which is totally like GRRM to f**k with us that way.
I’m with you with the crying. Every time they gave me Daenerys flashbacks. I don’t think I’ll ever get over that. Super hopeful for the show and it’s great so far.
Omg I have missed your videos. Yay your take is always on point hunni yessss 😊
Looking forward to all your breakdowns! This show is gonna be epic!
I just remembered why I ❤️ your breakdowns... I love an educated read using all FACTS 🙌🏾🙏🏾 🤰🏾🥰
Thank you❤️
These Maesters are the Devil!!! They are the reason for all this! The Hightower Clan is following Old Town Desire for true Power of the realm! Remember, they don’t want the Targaryen’s to Rule.
Bro honestly😋 I missed you girl. Its been 10 years but we will do this again. The GOT fans are a decade older now. I can’t physically or mentally get sucked into HOD but I will stick around for each episode and spend my week listening to reviews.
So excited we are back! Thanks for all your work on this
