This is the first time even seeing a 4 door corvette!
Yup never heard of it 😂
Yes so do I too. Its not that weird when ýou see the Maserati Quatraporte
Bean counters at GM ruin the good stuff.
I actually like it .
It's different for sure
🤢🤮
Different strokes
Now i know why koenisegg said ill make a 4 door hyper car called the gemera😂
GM was - as always - WAY ahead of its time. Let's remember the Trans Sport, the Aztek, this one...
Never saw one till now
Definitely an odd one, but it's its uniqueness that makes it so intriguing. A real head-turner!
I ain't a Corvette guy, I loathe em, but yeah it's cool.
😂❤
I saw the four door corvette at the auto rama in detroit twenty some years ago.
Dude. I for the first time have seen this. But I secretly love it. 😅
In 2018 I was buying a used Lexus from a dealer that sold all types of used cars. The dealership was located in a warehouse in Milpitas, Ca. adjacent to Interstate 680. I actually saw one of these Corvettes in that warehouse . I thought it was one that someone else had made at home. I walked right by it on my way to my new car. I had no idea it had been commissioned by GM. Now I wish I had paid more attention to it. I can’t even remember the color.
I’m 70 🤔 Never Heard Of This Ever… Amazing
One of the very best commentators I have ever come across on Facebook
wow, I own a corvette, never knew a 4 door existed.
Can you imagine that car having 550hp, that would be kool.
As a kid, I was a fan of Corvettes and Batman. So, I heard a rumor that they used a Corvette chassis as the model for the Keaton batmobile. It didn't make fully sense to me until I saw this. Thank you. I don't know if it's true but it seems plausible. ;)
When I was a kid my mom and dad bought me a model of a 4 door Vette for Christmas.
Ewww i wouldnt even build it lol
Apprezzo la corvette quattro porte, macchina rara e affascinante!
Wrong like an electric Mustang?
... that doesn't even LOOK like a "Mustang".
or an evette
@@TheBallls I think I dated her in high school ?
nothing is worst than a mustang in any form

Wow....an interesting concept, but I have to say it looks pretty strange!
when I was a kid in the early 80s, my brother had a 1/24 scale plastic model of a four 'Vette like this.
20 some years later I saw a C4 corvette 4 door at a local cruise event.
I would love that!!! Single dad with both my kids in back. They would have a blast!!!
The Red one looks pretty good! Eventually these rare 4 door Vettes could see rising values.
I remember around 1975 I went with Corvettes of Southern California to see a demo at Brunos corvettes in LA . He had four door Corvette he was making.
Wow. Learned something new today. I def don't hate it. They actually pulled it off...
Wish I owned one. Bet it's worth a fortune today.
Way ahead of it’s time. Reminds me of the Porsche Panamera
I don't know what is worse, a 4 door Jeep or a 4 door Porsche. I defeats the whole purpose of the vehicle.
A brown four door mullet corvette is exciting.
As a kid in the 1980s I saw one and I liked it then and now…
Casanova Frankenstein had one in the movie Mystery Men. Greatest super hero movie ever!
Would make the ultimate fun family car. I want one.
The most perfect sports car. How come it never caught on?? I don't get people, obviously it was exactly what people needed!
I believe the L48 engine was the top pick for California. In those years, California did not allow the real top engines to be sold to California residents. Case in point was the 400 Pontiac in the Firebird in the 1977 and up models. California only allowed the 403 Olds derived engine Firebird. Now, one could buy the higher performance engines out of state and bring them in used, so there were loopholes, but that would explain why this Vette was equipped with the 195 hp L48 as opposed to the 225 hp option as they were sourced and built in California.
I recall a 4 door thunderbird at a dealership in Corning, NY back in 1976. Not sure if I was dreaming....
I actually like it
I want one!
The c3 corvettes have a turning circle of a Mack truck. Imagine trying to drive this in the city.😅
Great vid! Thx!
In 1992 I returned to my home state on leave and the first night of leave I was hit by a habitual “Mormon” drunk driver. Over the next year while being in Germany, my lawyer got me a huge settlement. With a small portion of it I bought an 81 Vette that was in perfect condition and low miles. The lot was all Corvettes and after looking at maybe 50, I thought that the 81 had the best stance. Joined the Corvette club in Bowling Green almost immediately after being stationed at Ft. Campbell and those guys knew their $hit. One guy pointed out that I had a wheel that was from a different year. The car looked great but, was gutless as hell. Never, ever would have purchased a 4-door Vette. 🤘🤙🤘
I will admit that the 4 door Corvette looks cool but different in its own right, it should be a collector's item for good measure, but that's my opinion though.
A 4 door corvette would of been a great idea but it's some thing only real car collectors would just buy and not just regular people.
Looks good
If someone is sitting on one of these, I definitely think it's value is only going one direction......UP!
I have also seen pictures of an early 70's Barracuda in a four door version I didn't think it looked all that bad.
I like it!
This is pretty cool honestly
This is my first time seeing a 4-door Corvette
I like it ,would be cool with a v16 two small blocks welded together, double the doors ,double the cylinders
there is a blue one in Maine ive seen at shows. pretty cool in person
Ceasars are the Sunday drink of choice in Canada!
Shout out to the engineers that made a 4 t-top vette. I could just imagine going to a automated carwash back then 👏😎
wow 😮 Corvette Sedan 😅
One odd thing I noticed is is has a hinged opening rear hatch ,which was only available on the 82 Collectors series Corvette.
Yep it indeed was ahead of its time, given we now have other not so conventional 4 door sports cars like the Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera
They went wrong with not enough doors!! An eight door airport car would have worked well if used in vegas!!!
I like it.
Clamato juice is the nectar of the pickled gods.
Dude, channel holder. Awesome episode/video. See if you can do one of the 60's airport limo's. There's a peculiar and unique Toronado of this type called the "centipede".
Thanks for the idea! I will check it out!
I'd love to have one
I actually luv it.😅
It’s different but cool.
Almost like the Ford Mustangs Mach-E Electric EV, different but cool.
I have pictures of a 4door vette on a trailer in LA, looked like it had just been pulled outta a field and was going for rebuild.
Perfect car for the family
Perfect dad car (maybe not so perfect in mom’s opinion, unless mom is cool too)
I remember when it first came out and it was published in Popular Hot Rodding I was teenager at the time and we thought it was sacrilege to the Vette.
There was a 4-door Corvette in the movie Mystery Men and also the Smash Mouth music video from the movie.
The Fisker Karma or Karma Revero as it's called nowadays kinda picked up where GM left off here (styling wise). The low slung and long profile of the Revero is very reminiscent of a somewhat toned down 4 door C3 Corvette.
The sultan of Brunei has all kinds of one off cars !
They did one 2+2 in the C2.
There's a corvette station wagon too...I've seen a few
I have a scale model kit of a Corvette America, definitely will be building it, maybe get another too and make a station wagon out of it. I have a copy of the MPC "Vette Van" model kit too, but as far as I can tell that was never a real car. I love Corvettes, even the odd ones.
Maybe thats where Porsche got the idea for the Panamera.
I don't think so. Porsche had plans for a 4-door 911 in the sixties. I have seen pictures. It was not particularly good looking, maybe why they didn't go ahead with it.
A 4000 pound car with 195hp today is called entry level lol.
This is one argument the wife cannot win about buying a Vette, "look honey it's got four doors you me and the kids think about it"!!😁
Don't know wye, but the cantilever on the B-pillar bothers me the most.
I used to work at NBS Auto showroom I'm the one that took those photos of the Corvettewhen I work there the car ran and ran awesomeI have pictures to prove that was me
Interesting. We kill to live and live to die.If we stay here we die. We have nothing to lose. We must explore the center of our Plane directly under Polaris at Magnetic North and the lands beyond our ice wall to see if Hyperborea exists and if there is a portal out of this no win situation.
I want one😂
I seen one of these in Yucaipa, California when I was a kid..it was owned by someone on my cousins street
People said the same thing about a 4-Dr Porsche….. The real problem was GM engineering, design and accountants couldn’t make it work.
Like it would have purchased one
The new vista cruiser.
FIRE BIRD WAGON, THAT WAS STRANGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Revell made a model kit of these and I built a stock c3 from Monogram too....😂😂😂😂
i think it looks better than the 2 door
I've Heard of a Corvette Station Wagon Concept 2:23
Wow
dope to me
GM even made a 4 door Fiero.
1970s Porsche Panamera wearing a Bowtie
The Magic Bus
2:00 - "Front end was an '80" while showing a '79 rear and front. There is no question why it isn't more valued. No one wants one. They barely sold the few that were made. Forty four years later, most don't even know they existed and just as many do not want one.
If there were on of these that didn't have 2 more doors. Just the back seat. Stretch it a bit.
Millpy-toss!!!
They made a 4 door porshe.
Well that 4 door Porsche Panera exists..like for Richard Gere w kids 😅
You can finally let laid in a Vette.😂
I'm glad it didn't make to the market
I don't think a saloon vette looks bad at all.
At first I thought there was only one and I was like awe, that poor bastard. Then I learn there were 5 sold to the pimps-er the public.😂
This looks too much like a limo but its ok I guess. If you wanna see a 4-door conversion that is gorgeous check out the 4 door Barracuda. It's a red 1970 custom job, appears to have used mid-seventies b-body sedan roof and door structures.
Looks like Porsche Panamerica
Would be way cooler as a corvette 4 door wagon...
I’d drive that. Make mine with standard transmission please.
A 4 seat 2 door car would have made more sense.....oh wait there was already a camaro and firebird for that🤔
Cassanova Frankenstein owned one...
