10 MOST COLLECTABLE OLD CHEVY MUSCLE CARS!
Просмотров 17 тыс.Месяц назад
For reasons that confound to this day, General Motors banned all of its divisions from putting engines larger than 400 cubic inches of displacement in mid-size cars. This ban began in 1963 and wasn't lifted until 1970. Astute observers will note that this was the heart of the classic muscle car era and what it meant was that while Fords had 428 Cobra Jets and Mopars were packing 440s and 426s, ...

Who doesn’t love a good muscle car, be they classic or modern? But before you go all out and get one for yourself, remember that not all muscle cars were as muscular as they seem on paper. Of course, if you compare ‘60s muscle cars to the muscle cars of now, you may find them woefully ...
10 FASTEST 1960s Muscle Cars Over The Quarter Mile!
Просмотров 293 тыс.2 месяца назад
During the 1960s, pretty much every American automaker was locked in a battle to offer the most high-performance muscle cars money could buy. The main arena where these tussles were fought was on the quarter mile drag strip, or the emptiest stretch of public road that could be found. Succeeding in drag racing became big money, so muscle cars evolved to become as fast as possible in a straight l...

10 Highest HORSEPOWER Classic American Muscle Cars Ever Made!
Either a freind or myself had every one on your list in the late 70's to early 80's
My first new car was a 1982 Datsun 200 SX which was a good car that ran well for 10 years. I guess Datsun/Nissan made some improvements in the 5 years after the 1977 version was introduced.
Where is the shelby gt500?
Panda is ugly? You are crazy!
My father's 63' or 64 Valiant was ugly, but very efficient engine . I remember coming from Palo Alto to Riverdale Disney Land , w/o a single hassle.
Who is the narrator?
LOL By world standards MOST American cars are ugly. There are VERY few good looking American cars.
except mfor what they are worth a 4 door with a newer hemi in it would be better.
I can't believe you didn't add the "Le Car" in the list.
General Motors , Seriously needs to bring back there performance division Pontiac !!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪💪
I would take any of these over the typical jellybean shaped cars we have today. Sure, you can say they were ugly... but at least you could tell them apart.
The yellow one at the start of the video looks like it could have been made in russia or on a distant planet by bizarros.
I watched til the end, not because I cared about the cars, but because I so enjoyed your unrelenting sarcasm.
I I had a 1990 Ford Tempo. It looked like a Tarous but smaller. I loved that little car,. ran good until I trashed the motor after the water ran low.
I owned the 71 Oldsmobile cutlass 442 and my uncle owned a 71 Buick Grand sport and I absolutely loved them and I wish that I still had it ❤️😎💪👍
Volvo Bertone Coupe: I drove one quite happily and it fit my 6'7" frame quite well. Even with the overstuffed seats and the upholstered headliner. A luxury Volvo in the years when it was just a "safety" car driven by College professors. Volvo? Building a luxury car?? Who would'a thunk it? <koff> S90<koff>.
Check your timeline: The Mustang II was introduced in 1974. The Granada/Monarch were released in 1975, so it would be more accurate that the Granada "stole" the hubcap design from the Mustang. Assuming they both had the same size wheels. That part I don't remember and my copy of "Car Buying Made Easier" for 1975 isn't close by.
Click bait. The car shown on RUclips thumbnail is not in the video.
The Riveria wasn't ugly either... Did a teenager write this?
Gremlin get way more hate than it deserves
Oldsmobile "Tornado"? You managed to spell it right, why not pronounce it correctly also?
My first new car was a 1980 4-speed Toyota Tercel. And to date, it was the easiest, cheapest car to maintain. The oil filter was right on the side, easily within arm's reach. The spark plugs were right on top of the engine. Lots of room between the radiator and fan belt with a mechanical fan, no electric fan. It was front-wheel drive but the engine was traditionally mounted, not transverse. Unfortunately, after 7 years, my girlfriend was driving it one day and got hit from behind. Totaled!
The voice just reads stuff straight from Wikipedia
Those were the days when muscle cars put genuine fear in you when you drove them to their potential. When muscle cars were referred to as "beasts", Chrysler definitely earned that title.
Those '72 Torinos were brutal! What happened to Ford's designers?
Honorable Mention: Lincoln Versailles (1977-80).
The Fairmont was the replacement for the Maverick, not the Granada
That title might work for the younger people that don't know about these types of cars. I grew up knowing about these cars, best cars made 50's, 60's, 70's, some in the 80's and 90's.
Lose the AI voice.
They all were embarrassing; this is why I have taken public transportation. To see these cars from the bus is comical. Good tongue in cheek humorous dialogue.
And the Can Am came in three colors. Dude forgot the Chevy Monza and Monza Spider.
Kojak drove a Buick Century sedan.
They used to have a Cutlass club in Detroit, and back in the day, the Grand Am and most of them were pretty common, almost like Tesla ( which I don't want by the way!)
Being from Detroit, Michigan, every one of these cars I know about.
I actually have experience with that Volvo. My mother owned one back in the 70s when I was still something of a kid. I hated it; every time I got into the emm-eff, my head would encounter the roof. Not painfully, no, nor any other contact, but that happened in no other car -- and I was only 5 feet 10 inches!😠😡🤬
to be honest, everything was kind of ugly back in the 70's. Ugly clothes, ugly carpet, ugly furniture, ugly "porn star" mustaches and sideburns, cheap polyester suits that make you look like a cross between a car salesman and a jack-leg preacher. But as ugly as some of those cars were, I'd drive one in a New York minute. Today's cars all look the same as if they were designed for socker moms. they look like a cross between a minivan, station wagon, suv, hatchback. who the hell knows what they are supposed to be. All the same bland colors, black white or gray. try finding you car in the walmart parking lot, when all the cars look the same.
Aren't the parts above the rear wheels called the quarter panel and not a fender?
The Futura coupe effectively replaced the earlier 1972-mid-size-Ford-based Elite after a 1-year gap with the erstwhile LTD II interim restyled continuation. The Elite used the redesigned Mercury Cougar body from 1974 and it was given different front-end clip that aped the 1971-72 Pontiac Grand Prix with a unique 2-row egg-crate grille. Marketed as the Ford Gran Torino Elite as Ford's top-of-the-line intermediate-size offering in 1975 and then made a singular separate model as simply Ford Elite in 1976, renamed LTD II with new sheet metal for 1977, added a 4-door sedan and wagon to the original Elite coupe that year and then it became the Futura and the Elite's grille design returned to production, built mainly as a 2-door coupe. The Fairmont Futura saw a fleet of a handful of Ranchero pick-up truck versions aimed at the Cadillac Mirage that mostly was bought by funeral home service drivers. Like the Mirage, Futura Ranchero sales were minuscule.
Ford Fairmont: This was actually a pretty-good car; handled nicely, fuel economy was good, but the inline-6 was tractor-like. Still, this was the first of the "Fox-bodies", and essentially anything you could take out of a wrecked Mustang would fit in it. Saw quite a few Fairmont 'sleepers' with Mustang V-8's and 5-speed floor shifters.
7:00: Ah, yes, the famous "Butt-less Cutlass"!
Have you ever seen a 2nd Gen Cadillac Seville? (1980-1985)
The Pontiac Ventura was featured in the Uniroyal stunt driver commercials. Featuring Uni, Roy, and AL . Clever marketing by the makers of Tiger Paw Tires. Now owned by Michelin 🏁🏁🏁
radical California's lmao 😅 SoCal native everyone hates us and who cares. We got to love them jelly haters 😅
Mom had a 78 Magnum new white with a blue vinyl top window louvers full leather and full power 360 4bbl. She traded in 84 for a new Jeep cherokee pioneer. The Magnum would cost 60 dollars a week in gas, and that was then in CALIFORNIA SoCal. Now you could ez double it with gas last summer at almost 7 dollars a gallon in SoCal.
The voice over is the best ever! 😂✊🏼🤠
1972 Toyota Celica ST for this dude. I miss it much!
Your thumbnail caught my eye, I owned a 79 dodge magnum, crashed it and tore off the nose, I found another one in a car lot for 500 bucks and took the nose off it and tons of parts for a few years. The dam thing had so many issues it would never start when warm only cold. something to do with the computer box on the air cleaner. so I would always carry the computer box fromt he scrap car i bought and swich it out if I needed to start it when warm lol ahh the 80`s were a wonderfull time. ended up picking up a 1980 grand prix after the dodge died.
Don't really think any of these are ugly. Well, I just skimmed through it but, whatever. There are far uglier cars from the '90s and early '00s. Hell, the cybercuck is uglier then all of these.
I had 69 and 70 superbee as well as many other muscle car in my teen age years of the 70 ’s Believe it or not couldn’t even sell them for 1000 bucks And they were in excellent shape Mopar love them
My X-wife made me buy us a Pacer. One of the reasons she's my "X"-wife!
