2000s Cars That Weren't Cool Then But Are Definitely Cool Now
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.19 часов назад
Anyone who's dialed into the world of automotive social media or pays attention to auction sites will know that enthusiasm for cars from the 1980s and '90s has reached new heights: just look at the popularity of the Radwood show . It stands to reason the same phenomenon will occur with cars from the 2000s. Many of these vehicles weren't seen as being cool in their day-or at least not particular...

After the dreariness of the 1970s-in car design as well as other aspects of life-the '80s were a decade of turnaround. Okay, sure, we all thought we were minutes away from getting nuked by the Soviets, but the economy was taking off like the Space Shuttle and Wall Street was practically Xeroxing millionaires. Meanwhile, cars just kept getting better and better: Automakers were getting the hang ...

February 4, 2022, marks the 100th anniversary of Ford's purchase of Lincoln from founder Henry Lleland (who, ironically, helped create Cadillac from the remnants of Henry Ford's second car company; the Ford Motor Company we know and love was Henry's third try). Though Lincoln has often yielded the limelight to domestic rival Cadillac-not to mention later European and Japanese competitors-the br...

The RAREST Cadillac Ever Produced!
gto still my favorite. Simply looks fast where some of the others just look like sedans.
Gremlin and Pacer are the only US cars from this selection that transported something like new ideas and original design. Apart from those two, Detroit fell so much behind Europe and Japan in the 70ies.
Your videos are amazing. I really like it. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Can I talk with you Amercian Legends.
I had a 2004 Aztek. It was one of the best cars I ever had. Rode, handled and was a great size. It was ahead of it's time. Compare its silhouette to just about any current crossover, they are the same!
01:30 Amazing! Great video!
Shitty AI robovoice. Voted down!
Didn't Lincoln offer a 2.8-liter Diesel sourced from BMW in the '82 Malaise Continental? I may be mistaken on the displacement and the year model, but I remember Diesel and BMW.
In wich universe has Cadillac been the “Standard of the World“?? Havent you ever heard of brands like Mercedes or Volvo???
Dreadful voiceover. As for the 58 - 60 Continental was not particularly outlandish by the standards of the day and they were well built.
Die Serie 61 waren die schönsten Wagen, die je in den USA gebaut wurden !
These AI narrations are DEPLORABLE ABOMINATIONS of the Humam Voice and INSULTING to Anyone who knows ANYTHING about these vehicles !! STOP THE CHARADE !!
57 through 60 were great cars! My father had two one four door and a convertible. Then, a 64 followed by a 73 Mark III.
How hard is it to put a little effort into reading the script with an actual person? I will make a mental note to never watch this channel again.
Another BOGUS A I channel
I worked at a Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth dealership 1972-1975. The car lot looked like an Easter Basket. So much fun.
My parents always bought Lincoln. As a kid we would take long road trips in dads 87 Town Car, it was so comfortable on long trips.
I remember the 1973 Pontiac Grand Safari station wagon daddy bought and I drove it to school when I started driving, every one laughed at how the big boat looked. They were not laughing very much when I kicked the 455 Olds engine in the ass and walked away from almost everything on the school parking lot. The only other car that could keep up with was a 98 Oldsmobile of the same year and set up with the same drive train set up.
1979 Lincoln Town Coupe was one of the most elegant, beautiful, and comfortable car in all history! Land yacht YES!!
No true 429 scj was ever tested!. Only 429 cj with 4.11 gears. NOT a 429scj in the mustang! The B0SS 351 aka the big block killer, true obviously 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am a Cadillac man to the core but the only Lincoln I'd consider owning is a 3-5 MK Series. I had a fire engine red on snow white 79 when I was 15. It was my first car. I wish I had it back..
I did hear that the Blackwood was a sales flop ,but I love the older Navigators until they stupidly decided to put their already broken ecoboost in them
I love the 90s Lincoln, especially the Continental and the Town Car
I remember the Versailles, they looked ok to me, but I am partial to the tire bulge in the trunk
What's wrong with the Mark III IV V etc, so they are big, that was Lincoln's trademark. They could hit something at 40mph and then the driver can get out to see what it crushed, and squashed and keep driving
Lincoln knew how to make vehicles stylish with powerful engines that were reliable and bullet proof (without the wimpy, breakable turbo, that's about as reliable as the presidents or a milennial)
I love the style of all of these giant Lincolns 😍
The 58 Continental is so ugly it a,especially an Edsel look handsome
The Mark is still the bomb! YES GOD! Especially in designer form. Bill Blass & Givenchey are favorite things
My 400 pontiac engine is plenty for me
I owned a1962, 1966, and 1968 sedan. Then I had a 1969 Continental Mark III. My last Lincoln. Didn't like the styling after that.
Гремлин стильный. Ривьера сейчас это икона стиля.
I always thought the Blackwood was a joke. I had the opportunity to test drive one, but it was like putting lipstick on a pig. Dumb ideas that look pretty but don't function.
Lame comments from someone probably born in the 80's 👎🏿
AI narration is absolutely terrible
The Versailles was ugly, other than that you don't know what you're talking about.
The European was a slow piece of junk. My bother had a 1996. The main computer finally died, during winter. There was an X-90 in my neighborhood, Not sure if the owner still has it.
While not all of them were sales successes, none of these were really bad cars. I'd rather have a '77 Versailles that looked a little too much like the Avon lady's Granada than get stuck with a car like the 1982 Cadillac Deville, with its self-destructing engine. I actually like the look of the '95 Continental better than that of its bland Cadillac competitors. The Mark IV and V were, in my opinion, annoying cars, huge on the outside and only mid-sized on the inside, with clownish proportions and maneuverability, but owners seemed to love them and as other comments have pointed out, Lincoln's 3 year delay in downsizing its cars didn't drive sales down, it drove them to record levels. Not bad for something on a "worst cars" list.
Any of these commentator videos on "The Best" and "The Worst" are purely OPINION! Each one of these models were great cars. And saying the 1958-60 Lincoln's were ugly???...Please! What is terrible and ugly are so called Lincoln's after the demise of the Continental and Town car of the 2000s. There really are no more Lincoln's anymore as the best have already come and gone. Thank God there are many beautiful examples of Lincoln's from each previous decade that people have maintained and kept around from being junked.
I think you'd have to be blind to call the'58 to '60 Lincolns any but hideous.
You said that perfectly. Today if the emblems fell off of what they call Lincoln’s today, you would not know what it was!!
Is it that hard to just read the script yourself instead of having a robot do it? It really takes away from the viewer enjoyment
Just another poorly done and factually incorrect sh*t show!
Yet another unqualified car commentator decides to open a channel...
Agreed! Beauty is relative.
Worst cars after 1970, is american.
I have always been a Cadillac guy but I did buy an MKC which was OK now I have an AUDI Q5 which i s a big step up from Lincoln. Plus I always thought the interior of Lincoln was not as good as Cadillac..
You're better off with a Lincoln, audi is a money pit. Audis are for people that have more dollars than sense and have protruding navels
@@Vincent-ke5zn Well I inherited it from my father's estate last year and you are right they are a money pit but it has low mileage and I do not drive it that often. My next car will most likely be a Cadillac again.
3:20. EVERYO8NE KNOWS... So-called (by you) elephantine bumpers were *government mandated.* LEARN before posting! This work is appallingly ersatz.
😡RESEARCH PLEASE!😡 Widely known ... e.g. 1977 Continental 95,500+ sold; '77-9 Mark V was BEST SELLER of all Marks! 222,000+ sold in just 3 years, this for a *very costly* car. *BE responsible* 😠
1:40 1977 Lincoln’s were big sellers, and were the most beautifully riding, quietest cars ever made. You you no idea what you’re talking about. If you checks your stats, the late 1970’s were the biggest selling years for Lincoln. They were also the most beautiful Lincoln’s ever made. Big thumbs down.
My mother had a dove grey with french bright blue top, it was a stunner, I agree.
You're absolutely right about that 👌 👏 🙌, great cars
Most beautiful is subjective. I'm partial to the 1970-71 version of the Mark III.
Who wrote this and thought it was funny
I didn't know that American car manufacturers were using European top designers to produce 'American' cars..
Gremlin looks fab
Those 70s Lincoln's were at one point the equivalent of driving around in an Alpina B8.
